ftg87
always a bad thing? thoughts please Not entirely sure what you mean by this  Having the board taken over is sometimes good sometimes bad, it depends on who takes over A tycoon, for instance would be good as they pump lotsa cash into the club, whereas a fans group would not be so good as they would not have as much money to spend

rougess
I've never been sacked, but I've had some pretty bad chairmen in my time.
CrashOverride
Yeah Ive had some shockingily poor chairman, yet to have a tycoon but heres hoping. The majority of forum members report that they havent been sacked following a take over so fingers are crossed for you.
LOMAS1982
So whats does a poor chairman do in the game, Never had a take over.
StephenIrelandIsAGnome
In my reading game, we got took over by some consortium and i looked set to get the sack but once he took over he let me stay . However this isn't always the case.
CrashOverride
A poor chairman doesnt invest money into the club. We mean poor as in no money!
ScobieB
My experiences have been good, usually have a nice injection of money. Only worrying thing is when the takeover consortium start saying things like they will appoint somebody else manager if they are successful
jk54321
I've got a fans consortium trying to takeover and now under a transfer embargo. How long is this going to drag on for? And i'm guessing I'm not going to get a sugar daddy either
slipknot67
Another example of a poor chairman is one who constantly interferes in your transfer dealings, selling your best players over your head.
Giarc Ronyag
Can't complain, had 1 takeover, had no changes to the finances though and my job was never questioned.
AcidBurn
My girlfriends Leeds team was taken over by a tycoon the transfer embargo lasted only 6 weeks, the new chairman has added 15k of seats to the ground, built the training and youth facilities to the best they can be and invested £80 million in the club. This season he has given a budget of £101 million for players.
Giarc Ronyag
nice, and you have a bird that not only plays fm, but for leeds.... nice work.
BamBamBam
Just had a message saying that if the consortiums bid to take over is successful, then they will name a new manager! And ive been the best at the club! This likely to happen?
CrashOverride
No they normally keep you in the job as long as dont loose the first couple of games after they take over. Good luck
Horbury
My girlfriends Leeds team was taken over by a tycoon the transfer embargo lasted only 6 weeks, the new chairman has added 15k of seats to the ground, built the training and youth facilities to the best they can be and invested £80 million in the club. humanriff
The most common, especially in lower leagues, is that another board member simply takes over as Chairman and nothing really changes. Whether you get sacked or not depends on that individual, but usually you don't. That has just happened to me at Alfreton town, and all the new chap has done is borrow £50k from the banks, which has simply been thrown into the black hole of our finances. The repayments should help to cripple the club for about 10 years. Thanks for that, another couple of players I won't be able to afford.
Tarrantinho
She's a lucky bint! When Bates sold up I got Peter Lorrimer and no new cash. Mind you, I was still in Championship whenn it happened. I got Peter "tight-arse" Lorimer take over Leeds too...and it was my first season the prem when I was (quite literally, at times) crying out for cash to stave off relegation. To add insult to injury, my sponsorship deal was re-negotiated at a whopping £320K per year. (Bug reported) Balaclava's on lads....where's the nearest bank?
