Injured for 4-6 months,Injections get him through next game?

Recommended Posts

Lmao the most daftest option to have, Why would i want to give him injections to play through the next game then have him out for 10 months.Imagine Rafa in real life letting Torres play one game under imense pain just to make things even worst lol

Plus if the injury is that serious surley injections will not get him through,I suppose if he had a future transfer you could be really mean with this if you wanted ;)

I suppose if it was the last game of the season and it was a cup final, and it was your best player, only then perhaps would you CONSIDER using that. I've never asked a player to take an injection, they're really not good for you in the long run, I remember hearing about some Scottish footballer who was continually asked to take injections, the guy can't walk now. The closest I've come was just before a big game when my best striker was injured, the physio said he would be out for 2 weeks with the injection, and out for 2 weeks with it. In the end I decided not to give it him (as I felt a spell on the sidelines would do him good as his form was so awful) and in the end a week later he'd fully recovered. Injections = bad idea

Whats the downside of sending to specialist?

A good question we have debated previously without coming to a conclusion.

IIRC the downsides we thought were:

1) Cost to club

2) Player loosing Morale if being away from team

Im sure there were more but they have gone.

These were in the wider, what does a physio actually do conversation thread. I might go on a hunt for it later....

Yeah i sent him to see a specialist just thought it was strange that i had the option for injections with an injury as serious as that lol.I am same i never really use injections only done it for a couple of games with my striker because it was near the end of the season and i needed him because he was the one banging them in.

PS. Nice skin, can you point to where you got it?

Yep sure i got it over at sortitoutsi.net Its called rinnakkain skin.

Some people don't seem to get what's wrong with this.If the injury is so serious that you'll be out for 4-6 months then treatment with injections wouldn't be an option.A serious hip injury could cause you to have to use a wheelchair for a while.

Hmm, I don't think it is a bug, as the wording suggests he got through the match but was in pain afterwards. Putting this in mind, it seems you probably could manage this with injection. In my Leicester game, matty fryatt collapsed on the pitch with a hip injury and the injections prompt appeared.

I don't think its that unrealistic.

I'm in the US and a player for the Boston Red Sox had a hip injury and he received injections that got him through about a month. Unfortunately the problem got worse and he had to have surgery on it (probably would have had to have surgery without the injections) and he ended up missing the end of the season and the playoffs, about 2 months and really won't be ready to play until the regular season, which means he'll be off for about 6 months total.

Maybe overall the injection option doesn't seem to be realistic, this situation does at least have a real life example.

I would never give him injections in that situation realistic or not.

Even if i had a big game coming up and he was a key player, id rather him miss that go to a specialist and be out for a couple of months other than risk him with injections he can be out for anything from 6 months up to 10 months.

But maybe thats just me lol some people out there might want the option to get a couple more games out of him then loose him for up to 10 months which is just 2 months short of a full year hehe.

I know it may not be 10 months but it says there as a warning 6 months to 10 months so not worth the risk imo.

I wouldnt ever given an injection for the OP cause thats just lunacy but I have been tempted when there has been no difference in the recovery time between the two, But having learned that players reject the injection and this leads to an Unhappy player I now stay far far away from them.

It could be a degenerative condition in which case he could play on with the injections or look to get immediate help with it which sould well have a long rehabilitation period..

Its only a hip, could be worse, could be a knee.

To take an example from cricket, in the Melbourne Test Brett Lee was developing stress fractures in his foot. It was decided that he would take injections to reduce the pain and allow him to bowl on the final day and complete the fracture, which would in turn mean that his foot would heal more completely if take a little longer.

I think you will find that this is not something SI just thought would be a good idea, it is a common possibility (if not a common occurrence) in football. He might be out for a long time because he is going to have surgery, until he has that surgery he can still play if he has injections to stop the pain. There are other situations like that.

I remember David Beckham having an injection to get him through a big game when he was injured IRL.

BTW Send him (Osbourne) to the specialist
