The Minsterman Update 2014-2015

After a couple of seasons break, I have finally decided to delve back into the wonderful world of FM summer transfer updates. For the past couple of years the update went under the name the Official sortitoutsi.net Update, but I can announce that the age old Minsterman Update will return this summer! Some of you may (or may not) remember this update from the past (I have been editing most summers for a decade now with a short, education inspired break) and I offer a big hello to all you "newbies" as well.

The update is currently in BETA and I must stress this as much as possible, the available download is NOT a finished version (i.e. there will be missing transfers, there will be a lack of transfer fund changes as I add these close to the end of the window for more accuracy and other things you would expect for a BETA in progress), normally I would NEVER release the update before the end of the transfer window, but I have decided to upload an open public BETA to let people help me out by spotting errors, highlighting missing transfers and so on. These threads are always useful as they allow you to interact and help ensure the update is as polished as possible. I must stress again that a fully playable version will not be available until the close of the window and it will inevitably get more accurate and fill missing gaps (some of which I know about and just need to get round to over August), making more playable as we go along.

Please report any errors in this thread (respectfully please, again it's a BETA), this is one of the primary reasons for this thread to allow community interaction. Please note I do not include loan deals below six months in length, so do NOT include these.

BETA Features

- Player Cleanse (all players who joined last summer will no longer refuse transfers based on "just joining the club").

- Optional files that update changes to league structures (i.e. Italian lower leagues), although the main database will work without them.

- The base database does NOT make any changes to player stats whatsoever. There MAY be an OPTIONAL file which does this.

- Regular changes will be uploaded to this thread to keep the update continually updated.

Leagues Updated

Nice job thanks!

Can you please let us know which leagues did you update? until which date? did you also update competitions (promotions/demotions, Euro competitions, etc)?

I am gradually going through countries and updating the competitions, including where the league structure has changes (teams in a league etc), transfers will gradually grow more extensively across the world, each new update will include more countries more accurately. Normally my routine is to complete the day's transfers from Sky at a minimum and then go through league by league on days I have more time and do each team etc, so gradually it all gets more accurate.

Once it is "playable" (in the sense that it's mostly accurate across a wide range of countries and I have adjusted finances at least briefly) I will begin to include this in the version description with a [P]. You can of course play it now, but this is strictly being release on the understanding that it is in BETA and I am fully aware it has missing transfers etc in it, the idea being the community can engage and help with its development :)

Great update TM, going to start a long term game hopefully on your latest one. Just a few things I had to change at Leeds on the editor. Dave Hockaday is our head coach/manager and Junior Lewis is his assistant. Naylor and Bromby have left the club and Nicola Salerno although not officially announced afaik is our DOF. Bene Carbone is running the u21 team and Gibbs is a coach atm. Also not sure what you would do with Cellino being the owner and Norrudin (sp) as the chairman, obviously that is correct but in game the chairman deals with stuff but in reality he does nothing/gfh do nothing

e/ andy leaning our gk coach has left and sullivan is the new gk coach.

Thanks Mr. Delph, I will amend those today accordingly. I'd say the next week or so will see the DB become much more playable and prepared for long term games, August is usually when I pick up the pace a lot more.

Version 0.4 has been uploaded.

I spent the entire today going through the Premier League to the Conference updating missing transfers (please note staff is still being changed bit by bit, but please report any mistakes). I have also added another map which will progressively gain more colour (it doesn't mean those area's haven't been done yet, just that I am placing it there for future releases as I get a better idea).

All feedback welcome!

Good to see you back again, here's some Man Utd bits:

Paul Scholes can be removed from the coaching staff and made a retired person. He was never under contract, just unofficially helped Butt with the U19s and then Giggs with the first team. Has since gone into punditry

Rob Swire retired as head physio on 4/7/14. Neil Hough was promoted to head physio

Mark Hulse needs adding as our U21s fitness coach

Charni Ekangamene signed for Zulte Waregem (Belgium) on a 4 year contract

Jesse Lingard, Michael Keane and James Wilson's contracts should end 2015 (errors, not new contracts)

Will Keane and Tom Lawrence appear to have signed new long term deals (I'd assume 3/4 years)

Tom Thorpe, Reece James, Patrick McNair, Liam Grimshaw and Donald Love have all signed on until 2015

Declan Dalley retired due to injury

Ben Barber joined Stoke on a 2 year pro contract

Nicholas Ioannou joined APOEL (Cyprus) on a 3 year pro contract

Matt Willock signed a 2 year pro contract

Josh Harrop, Kieran O'Hara, Ryan McConnell, Callum Evans, Ashley Fletcher and Sean Goss all signed 1 year pro contracts (set these and Willock's from July 1st)

Is Eliaquim Mangala at Man City following his transfer and please can you update Newcastle United's transfer kitty as they sold Debuchy for 12m and already had a 35mil transfer chest at the start of the season.

Also Newcastle United Scout Graham Carr has a full knowledge of French players and has proved that every one of his signings are almost perfect for the small fees that were paid for the signings so his Current Ability for scouting should be 20 and the potential of a player should be 18.

The next release will have all of the latest transfers I have caught, yes.

Budgets are a big part of my updates and will begin to take a more accurate shape towards the close of the window, simply because I will have a more accurate idea of what they may or may not have left to spend after their purchases (for example I could give Newcastle a decent budget now but by August 31st they'll have spent it and then I will have to take it away again).

Version 0.7 has been released.

As I explained, this is only a BETA. Transfer budgets and finances are going to be tweaked closer to the end of the window when the full versions are released and when it is clearer what clubs will have left to play with after all this business is done. It WILL be editted, it's something I pride myself on with my updates. :)

For future reference (a bit too late to make wholesale changes now) with loans, if they're between two English clubs then they finish 31/5, but if a club outside England is involved (Scottish, Welsh and N. Ireland too) then the end date is 30/6 because they're window to window and the worldwide window opens July 1st. KUTGW though :)

Thanks MG, I have been trying to do most of them to 31/5 for England and then 30/6 for abroad, I will try amend any errors here when I get a moment :)

Hi Minister, i love your updates.

Thank you :). I promise the finances will be updated in the first full release, Newcastle will have a bit more cash if they don't spend it all between now and the end of the window.

Version 1.0 available with brand new extra bonus, England is now 100% accurate AND the Regional and Regional First Divisions are now completely playable! This includes the expulsion of Salisbury City (so only 21 teams in the Skrill South).

Please be aware that this currently in BETA, the leagues also require testing to see whether they function etc and whether the numbers involved in the Skrill South after the expulsion of Salisbury has any effect. Be aware this MAY cause problems, in which case I will edit it further, but this is the purpose of a BETA after all!

Enjoy.

junior lewis needs to be changed to non player. nigel redfearn seems as if hes in charge of the u18s. sullivan i would guess is GK coach seeing as we got rid of Andy Leaning. Carbone has left us.. short spell that turned out to be. afaik nigel gibbs is still at leeds as a coach and paddy kenny left us today.

top update as always though

Version 1.1 released.

Was some problems with the exclusion of Salisbury, looking into how fix it, as a fix I have set them to have -100 points so will more or less be guaranteed to be relegated. Tests saw league numbers messing around, will see what I can do.

The other three are developing BETA files to adjust leagues which have had changes made to them (like only 21 teams in Skrill South, changes to Portuguese leagues etc). It may be that these are the problem, in which case I will pull them from future downloads until I get a stable one.

A minor update, I will now be making some adjustments to the finances available to teams etc for the next release. What does this mean?

The next release will be the first "officially playable" release of this year's update! Thank you for everybody's interest and help so far.

Thanks MG, I've amended these accordingly.

I tend to not do squad numbers, though I am happy to have them if I get some time post transfer window :).

Great, thanks. If you want a hand with them then I don't mind chipping in. http://www.footballsquads.co.uk/squads.htm is a good place to grab the info from, used that for years for my own updates and for WeeGiE.

Version 1.4, the first NON-BETA release is no available. Includes updated finances and club morale, more transfers and much much more!

The Eng file is a file which updates the English leagues to this season and adds two more levels down to the regional first divisions as playable.

MG, any help with the squad numbers would be great, it's one thing I always just have to leave as obviously I prioritise transfers, money etc.

Well if you hold off making changes on the file tomorrow I'll blast through them using the 1.4 download and PM it over to you

Thanks for the offer MG. Today I am likely going to take advantage of my last day off to get some editing in, perhaps a day next week?

Sounds good, drop me a PM when you're ready. I have made a start (got to Bournemouth) which picked up a small handful of transfer erros in the Championship (now corrected) if you want me to PM what I've done so far?
