anakin1975
Is my graphics card the problem? ATI Radeon X1600.
Wakers
Should be well above the specs, what's your processor? This is an issue SI seem to have trouble killing off for good, so it may be down to the game.
silky1013
Is my graphics card the problem? ATI Radeon X1600. Don't think so. Thats above the min spec. Mines doing the exact same. Anyone know how to sort it?
Wakers
It's probably an AMD issue - as that was what was causing the problem in previous versions of the game. If you guys want help though, post as much information about your computer spec as you can.

Wakers
and the rest of your spec? Memory, graphics, Operating System etc etc? Processor Make would be useful too.
silky1013
2.2 ghz processor - 2gb memory. Macbook Pro. GeForce 8600M GT graphics card. Still very jerky on 3d!
Wakers
I would suggest reporting it as a bug in the technical bugs forum. I'll do it myself if I have the problem once I have the demo installed.

Jonny Chee
I have the jerky match issue too. I only have a graphics rating of 1/2 a star. My graphics are onboard - NVidia GEForce 8300. I have the latest driver according to NVidia's site. Do I need to upgrade?
anakin1975
My graphics rating only has 1 star.
We_Are_138
My graphics rating only has 1 star. Have you tried going to Preferences --> Display and Sound, and changing your 3D settings to medium? Mine only has half a star and will run on the high graphical detail setting, but it's slightly jerky. I changed it to medium, and although there's a slight change in quality, it wasn't a great deal and now it runs absolutely flawlessly.
Jonny Chee
Even on low 3d settings mine is still jerky. I have half a star too as previously mentioned. I have an AMD dual core processor 6000+ and 4gig ram. The actual game runs really fast but the 3d is suffering...
docvince
I have a similar issue with a dual core 2 duo 2ghz and nvidia 9600 m gt

Robbie S
The first thing to ensure is that you all have the latest graphics drivers as that can make a significant difference. Also i'd be interested how many of you are playing on full screen. Cheers.
anakin1975
Windowed mode for me.
Jonny Chee
I have the latest drivers but only half a star. I play on full screen. The 3d ran great on 09?

anakin1975
I have the latest drivers but only half a star. I play on full screen. The 3d ran great on 09? Same here but 1 star and windowed mode.
Robbie S
When you're in a match Jonny could you try and change to windowed mode. Probably nothing but saw a slight issue regarding jerkiness a few days ago.
Jonny Chee
Robbie - Seems to run smoothly in windowed mode. Does that mean I can't play in full screen if I want smooth 3D?
anakin1975
Any more ideas on my little problem?
Robbie S
Not sure Jonny. It was actually an issue I spotted a few days ago on a mac but could not reproduce. If you move back to full screen mode now it 'should' work ok now.
Robbie S
anakin1975 i'd suggest a google search for drivers for that device
Robbie S
As jonny has seemingly come across the same issue as me i'd suggest for anyone playing in full screen to switch to windowed during a match and the 3D may run more smoothly
anakin1975
Already have. Everything up to date.
Ben25
I have this problem as well, my computer easily exceeds the min specs. AMD phenom II 720 processor, 4GB of RAM and a ATI x1950 graphics card. It was fine in my first game and it all went fine, but in my second it was horrible.
KimHansenDK
I too get jerky (and ugly compared to windows) match graphics. I'm on a new Macbook Pro Unibody 4GB RAM, 256MB Nvidia 9600M GT, and it should be able to run the game on high graphics setting. It was the same problem on FM09 (playing in OSX)... Sparky_07
Guys can someone help me, I wanna know if I have the most upto date Graphics driver, but don't know how to go about this. I'm rubbish with this kind of stuff. Cheers
Twellman24
But this is the demo, right? I mean I can see the shadows of the players in 09 and I cannot in 10. Surely this is just because it's the demo right? (Since the specs are the same or even lower than 09)

Robbie S
The demo is the GOLD version of the game. So what you see on the Strawberry demo is what you'll get in the box
Stejo
Same issue here, well above specs. 5 star gfx card rating, dual core cpu, 4gb ram, running win 7 x64. Tried both windowed and full screen, tv view, split view, high, medium, low settings, you name it. The 3d engine is extremely choppy to the point of unplayable. Most likely culprit seems to be win 7. I'll try it on my laptop running vista 32 later on and see if it's any better.
Robbie S
I've been playing on win 7 without any jerkiness for the whole testing cycle so it is unlikely to be the only cause.
zapppa83
For me works well on fullcreen, very bad on windowed. I have Win 7.
Temp
The crowd and the weather effects are causing the slow downs for me... so i have turned the crowd off.

Twellman24
Wait, so FM 10 rates my graphics system 5 stars out of 5 but my payers look way worse than 09? How does that one work?
Steve Cox
If anyone can help please PM me. Thanks in advance You didn't state which machine you have so. Click "Start" Click "Run" (XP) or click in the "Search" Box (Vista/7) In the Text dialogue box type "dxdiag" and press return. Once the program has finished scanning your machine the info will be available in the 'display' tab. If you're lost then "save all information" and copy/paste the info into a post in the bugs forum and someone will take a look. Cheers.
Jonny Chee
It's the crowd that kills it for me too. Pre season friendlies it runs fine. As soon as the stadium fills up it runs at a snails pace.
anthony
i got a match engine star rating of 1 but i have ran high detail got crowds and weather effects and stadium and it runs perfect so how do they work out that it was a 1 star rating
depps
ya my graphics card is a way under spec intel chipset thingy that was build into my laptop and i'm somehow getting a four star graphics rating?....although it's still jumpy as hell
Administrators Neil Brock Posted October 14, 2009 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2009 Yeah we believe there may be an issue with the 'star' ratings - for now if you are experiencing jerkiness in the 3D match engine, you should try running it on low detail without crowds. Thanks.
108
It runs absolutely perfect for me. It cannot possible be any smoother - in both fullscreen and windowed mode. HOWEVER it has crashed twice as random points during a match. I'm running on a mac 2.13 GHZ 4GB Ram Geforce 9400M. I think it has something to do with the crowds, as both times its crashes just as my player is going to score.
