Football Manager 2009 Keycode: Question

What happens if you enter your code incorrectly, do you get a few chances to get it right?

I'm asking because my code isn't very eye friendly, what with the maxi-modern dot matrix style of printing.

Yes, if you enter an incorrect code you can simply go back and retry it.

Is there any site you can goto to find what I, 1, T, O and 0s suppose to look like?

Yeah same problem here. I know it wont activate yet, but im trying to see if I can get the correct keycode and it keeps saying its wrong. Is that just because the activation servers are down?

Exactly!

The letters aren't exactly that clear, I was having trouble with the "I" or the "1" but now you mention it, is it a "O" or a "0" ?

this activation thing is a load of shi ite. badly impemented and confusing...a bit amateurish

People say it's confusing but the install/first time playing process will presumably walk the user through it. It's just confusing when there's many different people on the forums each giving their own interpretation of what the process will be, some right and some wrong.

well im lost, i have bought mine of amazon, what are the steps to get it up and running tomorrow, Ie will the game take me straight to the activation site

According to the thread Miles posted yesterday the servers for authentication will be available before midnight tonight which is still the 13th

Agreed especially since the game has already been pirated and is available if you know where to look. The authentication process has just been a bad idea from the start imo. Just as well I'm an honest chap and have already forked out £30 for an original copy.

Eeven if the files are to be found on dodgy sites that could easily just be the pre-loaded files from Steam that still need to be activated.

Try and sign up for the FM Club as this asks for the same code. If you manage to sign up for this successfully then make a note of the code you entered (whether its a O or 0, 1 or I), this will save you many failed attempts when you try to authenticate the game later.

Good Idea mate, that worked perfectly. My problem was "O" "0"...it looks so much like a "0" but isnt so watch out for that one guys.
