Coaching!

I heard that there is a way of increasing your coaches marks so that they are all 7 stars. Does anyone have an Idea how to do this. Also is there any good players that I might be missing out on? Many thanks for you help on this matter.

i have mostly 5 stars for my coaches in FM07 but i dont know if that is out of 5 or 7 ><. i thought it was out of 5 until i saw that Gael Glichy had a pot CA of 6 stars according to my scouts. oooo my head hurty.

yeah there's a serious lack of 7* coaches out there, even with loads of nations loaded and leagues playable...

The attribute nos need to be verified as these are off the manual and I do not have it in hand

Strength : Fitness > = 18

Aerobic : Fitness > = 18

Goalkeeping : Coaching Gks >= 18

Tactics : Tactical >= 18

Defending : Defending = 18 & Tactical>= 18 or

Defending = 19 & Tactical>= 14 or

Defending = 20 & Tactical>= 10

Ball Control : Technique = 18 & Mental>= 18 or

Technique = 19 & Mental>= 14 or

Technique = 20 & Mental>= 10

Attacking : Attacking = 18 & Tactical >= 18 or

Attacking = 19 & Tactical >= 14 or

Attacking = 20 & Tactical >= 10 or

Coaches have CA and PA. They can increase until about age 50. Without cheating, you have to use them well, with optimum training facilities to allow their attributes to increase. Whether there is a more specific formula to enable their progress (eg how many players training etc) I don't know and would be very interested to find out.

High PA coaches (and scouts, and physios, and Assmen) improve fairly quickly.

Only problem: You can't scout staff, so there isn't a way to know without cheating whether you've got a gem or a goes-nowhere.

I find that top players retiring from the game and taking up coaching tend to become good coaches, not always, but often enough to make the likes of Ryan Giggs or Sami Hypia (sp?) to be automatic first choices for signing by me when they retire.

I find it virtually impossible to get a 7 star coach for set pieces. Just started a new game with Liverpool, about 8 countries loaded and only 2 coaches fit the various criteria for set pieces!?!

I spent a fortune getting the rest of the coaching staff up to 7 stars.

This is one of the things I've seen a huge difference in from previous iterations of the game.

I have full 7 stars in all areas for Senior and Youth coaches at Rangers.

I dont see it as a hard thing to get, but seems like it if all you guys are having trouble.

As Lamb says ex top players is where its at too, they often turn out to be great coaches, and get their stats up fast.
