jamiescfc2009
It's really doing my head in. I tried: training the defence in high changing a centre defence and it's not marking properly selling a goalkeeper and getting high handling and reflexes morale is low at the moment and I sold some defenders but it wasn't that good in the first place
stevie_G_32201
improve player morale, defend deep, make sure the players are good enough to contain the threat of the attack too.
jamiescfc2009
what about improve player morale I been trying to convince them in recent games would that help?
robertcornell68
You'll probably get 100 different answers for this. I have a deep defence with stopper/cover combination and two FBs on defensive duties. This is good for absorbing pressure, bad for counter-attacking and sets me up for long range goals but in general I've found it's pretty solid. stevie_G_32201
new contracts, winning games and being honest with players about performance sometimes works too. if they are bad in training tell them that, morale will usualy improve if you do it right. silten
Try keeping your fullbacks from bombing forward, play narrow and most importantly, ensure that your defence is getting adequate support from your midfield.
Johnny Ace
Deep, narrow, low pressing. Tackling is difficult, if a defender if marking a tricky winger/ striker keep it Easy so he's less likely to lunge in & get skipped past, Hard tackling on the opponents likely to hold the ball up or play a killer pass. But with everything in FM there are a million variants !!
baaf
in addition to what is mentioned above, try playing with a defensive midfielder. they seem to clog the middle and lower the amount of through balls.

ArranoBeltza
As long as you have a solid goalkeeper, good all-round fullbacks, and at least one imposing, physical central defender then you will be just fine.
