Try the editor hideaway pal afew lads have some lower league add-ons in there

Either edit them into one of the playable leagues using the editor or check out the Editors forum for a database that enables playing in the lower levels.

Or you can holiday for a season, save in june before the season ends, and hope FC United win promotion into the playable league. If they don't, reload and try again.

There are some guys who've made the lower leagues playable, I'm playing as FC United at the moment, in my 3rd season. Here's the links to those databases.

Incidentally, has anyone managed to find Graphics for FC United? Ive not come across any yet...

I'm managing FC United, having used the editor to move them into the BSN in place of Ilkeston, who went bust and left a gap. I also created 'Newton Heath' stadium which they'll move into in a year.

Those two links are to great lower league files, but check the threads in the Editor's forum for reports of bugs. The really indepth RTC one in its latest version is due in a day or so, but you might want to hold back 2 or 3 days to see if any more bugs are reported and fixed.

How slow does the game go with these lower league included? Is it true that it takes ages to load between days and also the FA cup becomes very slow?

interesting...on FM2010 there was a problem with the game slowing down dramatically on the FA cup and the rounds having the wrong names etc, not happening this year no?

Thanks for posting that, it's increased interest in my thread even more! And yes, it gives all info on ways to play as them as well as kits, logos and miscellaneous files downloads.
