Game performance on these specs

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I posted something similar but just wanted to check a few things. I have tried everything possible from searches and advice I have seen other given, etc to get the 3D match engine to stop being jerky, but nothing improves it even slightly - FM09 worked fine by the way. Here are my specs, any help ASAP would be awesome!

Your graphics card is below the min spec but if 09 worked and you have the latest drivers and directX it should be OK as long as you keep the number of leagues and database small.

Aha! Cheers for the replies - I might be about to ask a very stupid question, so be gentle! I always thought that the number of leagues and database that you load might slow down load times, but wouldn't have any effect on the 3D ME. Are you saying that if I load a small database that the ME should improve?:)

No he is not :D

The database size will only effect the processing speeds.

Would having a larger number of leagues affect performance on matchdays? It sounds bizarre but game seems to run ok during the week but come matchday buttons (eg go to team talk etc) take forever to respond, sometimes several seconds, with going between the first few prematch screens also taking time.

I have a 3ghz Pentium 4 and 2gb ram, and have 14 divisions in 5 countries running.

Run the game and go to Task Manager (Control-Shift-Escape). On the Processes tab, how much CPU does FM use up in the normal game and how much in the Match Engine? (Football Manager should be fm.exe on the list). On the same screen, do you have any other processes chewing up a lot of CPU?
