The South American Managerial Competition - Sign-up Stage

Hello all,

After not being able to get into an FM09 game after several attempts, I have decided to run a sign-up until FM10 comes out. It will be a simple sign-up which won't take too much effort to update, but hopefully be enjoyable enough so that the time until FM10 rushes past us!

The sign-up will consist of 14 managers which will be put in charge of the two clubs which are predicted to come in the bottom two of each second tier in the available South American leagues (+Mexico). The only exeption is Peru, where they will be put in charge of the teams predicted to come in the bottom two of the first tier.

The managers will have a CA of 100 and a PA of 200, with a Home Rep. of 100 and World Rep of 50. I know that there will be limitations on the Attributes you can choose for your manager, but that is because I am basing it on the fact that the CA will be 100. There will be no limitations on tactical attributes, but that us because they don't affect the level of the manager, it affect the way in which the manager gets his side to play.

There will be a points system based on average points obtained and league reputation the manager is in. There will also be bonus points for promotions, winning competitions and performances in South American competitions. A detailed description of the points system and the update style descriptions will be given when the sign-up actually starts.

I have added you to the list HMFC_SCFC, but there are a couple of things you will have to edit in your form:

-You have used 125 in the Person Data, so you need to take away 5 from somewhere.

-For Offside, Use of Playmaker and Use of Subs you need to give attributes from 1-20. The editor would then interpret an attribute of 1 in "Offside" as the manager playing the Offside Trap very rarely for example.

-The tactics 4-4-2 Wingers does not exist in the editor, the variants would be normal, defensive midfielder, diamond and sweeper. The same applies to 4-1-4-1, the closest tactics to that are 4-3-1-1 and 4-1-2-2-1.

-Your favourite/disliked clubs and personnel need to be from Brazil. I know it is a bit annoying, but it was just so that any rivalries friendships are relevant to where you are managing.

I'll take 4-1-3-1-1 as a 2nd formation and 4-3-3 as attacking.

I guess Ramon Diaz must have earned Mexican nationailty in my game... How about adding Argentinian as my 2nd nationality? As for Jesus Olvera, he was there already in my Estudiantes team but that was patch 9.0.1. Maybe he was taken out for 9.0.3.... I'll have Martin Galvan instead then.

-You have used 125 in the Person Data, so you need to take away 5 from somewhere.

-For Offside, Use of Playmaker and Use of Subs you need to give attributes from 1-20. The editor would then interpret an attribute of 1 in "Offside" as the manager playing the Offside Trap very rarely for example.

To start with I have the profile and personal screens of the manager, as well as the squad, club info and facilities screens of the clubs. But this will be a very basic start-off, as I will go into more detail in later updates. I will divide them between nations and do a pre-season, mid-season and season summary for each country.

More on how updates are going to work will be in the opening post of the new thread. I will also explain the points system in detail there and opefully make everything clearer!

good good, i take it you have started the games, and got ur screenshots uploaded. how far into the season are you?

I haven't really gone into the season yet as I will only be doing short holidaying sessions. The next update after the introduction will be less than a month for the game start date and will be the Brazilian Pre-Season update. But each update shouldn't be too long so it will hopefully all flow really fast.
