2024/25 Youth Candidates

Well this is interesting and I've only been here for a few days but 7 of the intake have come from other clubs!

That is really interesting. At least to me. I notice that you didn't mention it in the next intake. Did it not happen at all or did you just not update us?

We've poached another player.

You're managing in South Africa, but the 1st and 2nd players that Jomo Cosmos have poached are both from Togo? Is that right? Do you have an affiliation with Swallows FC and are they based in South Africa or Togo? If they are based in South Africa, do they have an affiliation with with a club from Togo

Oh hang on. Have I got confused here. These are players who have been poached FROM you. Sorry. Where has the Togo Nationality come from?

A great result all-round! :D

That really is a great result, but then again, they are a decent established side, (in African terms at least). What's your thinking with regards to the National Team management. From a readers point of view I'm feeling a bit of a disconnect with your National Team updates. If you were managing in North Africa or France then it might fit, but not sure it does at the moment, (and EQG also seemed a little disconnected too), but don't let that stop you.  Others seem to be enjoying the National Team updates.

I'm really enjoying the club stuff and in particular both aspects of the poaching. :applause:

It did happen, I just didn't update, we're still getting players from other academies, I'll put it back in the next youth intake.

Literally everyone that we've poached and had poached from us has been from Togo which is making me think that it's a graphical bug and that they should all be from South Africa, we have two feeder clubs, Umbelebele in Swaziland and Zebra Force, a lower league South African side.

The only reason I took up international management at the start was because the board wouldn't allow me to take coaching badges so I used international management as a way to increase my reputation enough to get bigger clubs to notice me.

How are you finding this save so far @Makoto Nakamura? You seem to be playing a little slower than normal for you. (Still quicker than the rest of us).

I'm liking the save but I'm struggling in general, I'm back at work now (hooray for working in a garden centre :onmehead:) As well as that I've got a Switch as an early birthday present with Pokemon Sword & Animal Crossing, as well as playing some Fallout 76 and Assassins Creed Origins. Also talking over WhatsApp over a possibility of a save to try and manage the most games in a season.

Spoiler alert: It appears to be possible to play 105 games in a season, which is leading me wanting to try that whilst already being unable to cope with what I have going on.

I did wonder if you were back at work and I don't envy you at all. I'm off until the end of May at least I think. Will have to see then.

105 games a season? Brazil? I thought that was the biggest but thought it was less than that. Your GK is going to smash all sort of records there!

I'm hating it and dreading going in because the public just do not stay away, I'm working in basically a greenhouse but it's also where customers are having to queue up to get to the tills and it's just horrible.

105 if a certain set of conditions are met yes, you'd have to finish 6th or 7th in Serie A to qualify for the Libertadores 2nd Preliminary Round whilst also winning the Libertadores the year before and hope that it falls on a Club World Cup year.

38 league games, 16 state games, 14 Copa do Brasil games, 11 Copa do Nordeste games, 2 Super Copa do Brasil games, 2 Recopa Sudamericana games, 17 Copa Libertadores games and 5 Club World Cup matches for a team based in the Campeonato Piauiense.

I expect 30 goals to be hit in a season by a GK! I will deffo be following that if and when it happens.

It's the Rogério Ceni legacy of goalies!

Also I would be pretty eager to see Makoto manage a Brazilian club, just choose the Northeast state wisely and you can do it!

Since I have been playing Assassin's Creed Origins a bit I'm going to have a new save, but since it's in Africa I'm going to continue using this thread. We'll just be loading Egypt down to the 4th tier with a small database but everyone in Africa loaded. The aim being to create a dynasty and topple Al-Ahly, Zamalek and new big spenders Pyramids FC.

Heliopolis Sporting Club was founded in Cairo on January 1, 1910, by the Cairo Electric Railways and Heliopolis Oases Company, which managed the club until December 31, 1921. On January 1, 1922, the club members took over the management by a contract signed with the company.

The activities of the club included water polo, swimming, diving, squash, tennis, golf, cricket, hockey, bridge, bowling, soccer, handball, basketball, Volleyball, Speed ball, Ballet, Gymnastics, Snooker, Athletics and different kinds of dancing.

In 1947, the area of the club was reduced to its present size (around 19 feddans) after the company took back the land of the golf course. Golf was cancelled after the frequent objections of club members to the large expenses incurred by the game, which, after all, was not played by many members.

What better club to topple Al-Ahly and Zamalek than one which is literally on their doorstep, and in the 4th tier!

2019/20 Pre-Season

f9a673dcd07caea2587eb2c488febe97.png

An unbeaten pre-season with lots of goals! All of the clubs we faced were in the division above us as well which bodes well.

bba8957e9aefd5aca98a23e6512623a2.png

We're predicted in 5th, in the default database this league has just 12 teams but I decided to add in the 4 teams that weren't in a league, the two that stick out are Academie and Piramide.

Egypt would be a fun career to try. Was surprised to see hockey listed as one of the sports for Heliopolis! I'm assuming that's field hockey? A quick search only found three ice rinks in the country.

It is, I chose Egypt because they have the highest youth rating in Africa so they should produce the best players plus Cairo is one of the biggest cities in Africa and I'm right next to the two biggest teams in Africa!

I would also have to assume that it is field hockey.
