Quite some progress you've made since I last posted!

The playoff master with Lowestoft and now heading to the Premier League with Middlesbrough.

You've managed to bring in some real quality players and it'll be interesting to see how Brozovic and the like adapts to the top flight.

Great job and good luck in the Premier League.

Yes its been great progress. I would have loved to stay a bit longer with Lowestoft but the chairman and I kept butting heads! I want to win the top flight then after that move on to a different country back down in a lower league and work my way up again!

Brozovic has been playing really well and has fitted in, 4 goals, 7 assists and an average rating of 7.44!

Merola wins Championship player of the season. Would love to bring him back next season either permanently or on loan again! He finished 2nd in top goalscorer and Grabher finished 3rd!

Transfers

I have already shown you Toumagnon who will be going back out on loan.

image.thumb.png.4619235b8aae1209184232ac900a9e5e.png

Verde comes in for £5m. He had an active relegation release clause. He scored 15 goals for Crotone in 34 games despite playing in a relegation team. Cracking deal and will replace Morelo!

The Big Signing

image.thumb.png.b077c7fb2c79b0d45c176f66630f086c.png

Enzo comes in from £27m from Monaco. I think this is a great signing for us and although we used most of our wage budget I do believe this is a signing for the next decade or more!

Transfers Out

image.thumb.png.0a55e57a0c0df6c7d26625f4bd11b184.png

Nearly £28m brought in. A lot of these were younger players with not too much potential. From the first team squad we sold Vang who had a major injury last season and his ability dropped off. Hause was our backup centre back last year and £6.5m for him was a good deal. Dowell only played a handful of games last season and was no longer required. This is the same as Sheaf. Swanston in hindsight I probably should have kept as backup. He is just as good as Grozdanovic and was home grown. Our biggest sale of the summer was Adekanye who was good quality but wanted out last season. Over £10m is a good deal.

Squad Review

Goalkeepers

image.thumb.png.eca7421df4257244ef8336b2aea1f000.png

Jimbo IV has improved a fair bit (still only 2 stars) and his value has jumped to over £10m! Roberts is just a home grown backup.

Defenders

image.thumb.png.19d239f6b8874caa5d0e86779fac16c5.png

We will start with the same centre back pairing of Bielik and Ghalem who are both currently unhappy due to contract negotiations. Suarez and Galves will rotate at right back whilst Gordon will start at left back with Dalton being his backup. Pirola and Hutchinson will provide backup at centre back whilst Ismaili is a nice option to have as he covers the spine of the team. Nice to see 2 academy graduates in Ismaili and Hutchinson are in the first team squad!

Midfielders

image.thumb.png.e0a7552252a380e7261f4dc8f2c34880.png

I believe we have good depth in the midfield. For the 2 holding positions we will be starting with Doyle and Millot but we also have Soumare and Karahasanovic that can play in there. For the wings we will be going with Bozovic and Correia/Hlozek as our main starters and we also have Leemans and Martinelli that can slot in. I am trying to get a loan move for Hafsteinsson for the season.

Attackers

image.thumb.png.a86b24b56c5bb453d60c2f1d180d3eb5.png

We will be going with Verde and Grabher as out starting 2 this season. Grozdanovic will be our backup and we have a few wingers that can play up there if required! Unfortunately we had spent our transfer fees and then Merolo became available!! He moved to Newcastle for only £16m

Tough Start

image.thumb.png.70198a9beed73e270dce322727f00a76.png

It was always going to be a tough start with Liverpool's world class squad which now includes Harry Kane. 2-0 down and then a man down and we just had no answer. A tough start to life in the Premier League.

Can the season end now please? A CL spot would be beautiful! However we havent really played any big teams except for Liverpool who hammered us.

A comfortable 4-2 win over Shrewsbury although a bit of complacency at the end of the match against 10 men. Got a few of our academy guys a game as well! In the 4th round we have drawn Man City at home.

Sad times

I was Hartlepool in first season, finished champions of VNL. I then took over Doncaster Rovers in season 2 in League One. About 9 days before first league match, I suffered a crash dump. I tried to load it, it wouldnt load. I only save it 1 file every week in game. Maybe I will now change it to 3 save files per week. SO I'm going back to my Liverpool FC save game. Instead of starting again in VNL.

Only thing stopping me starting a game again with Doncaster Rovers is getting all the staff again. It took me a few hours to do that. Eh stuff it, I will create new game, just start at Doncaster Rovers lol

After a good few months this month was always going to be tough especially after losing against our supposed easiest game against struggling Watford. We actually played quite well at Utd but their quick start meant we just couldn't get back into the game. We bounced back brilliantly against Chelsea however who are majorly struggling on the league down in 15th place!

League Table

We sit in 5th 7pts inside the European spots which would be a great season for us!

January Transfers

I have went and brought in another 2 Americans. Once again no work permits but they are immediately out on loan. Problem with the ones I bought a season back is that they are now turning down my contracts and heading elsewhere!

image.thumb.png.00e6d810f1175b6233d7e29a04051066.pngimage.thumb.png.0db28e04ea441e85b6300ba0bbc5b608.png

John Pearson and Tim Williams both come in on frees. Hopefully we can train them up and get work permits and make some profit!

image.thumb.png.50ba0595282a0b40a153284c3e18d25b.png

This is 3 who will leave in the summer on free transfers after turning deals down. Roberts was only a backup keeper and was free to leave. Bueno hadn't developed too much but still would have liked him to stay. Flores however I liked the look off and really didn't want to lose him!

A mixed month for us. We absolutely battered Barnsley twice in the FA Cup and ended up being sucker punched on penalties. A good ole FM'ing. We were amazing away at Spurs and played 65mins with 10 men and managed to hold out for a win there! West Brom we really should have beat but 2 set pieces meant we lost. A great bounce back against Leicester though which means we sit in 5th place level on points with 4 places Arsenal with a game in hand and a bit of a cushion to Norwich in 5th.

Jimbo IV Watch

Jimbo is 2 for 5 in penalties this season, scoring 1 in the Carabao Cup and 1 in the PL

Dilema

image.thumb.png.6b22a40017c9e1cd1ac7411851da31b9.png

This is my club! They have struggled this season big time in 10th spot and it would be a struggle to even get European football this season (although they are still in the Euro Cup). I love what I am doing at Middlesbrough but this is probably the only club in England I would move for!

I'm in September 2019. it took me a fair bit of time last night and today to get the squad and staff I wanted and had to cancel all the preseason matches as I wanted to concentrate on getting my staff spot on. Currently in League One with Doncaster Rovers.

Squad

image.thumb.png.c8275e23f28b83b2dbffc22ac666c017.png

The squad is really poor for the level it should be at. It was so small that I have had to call up 2 academy players to fill out the bench.

Goalkeeper

Kepa is a solid goalkeeper for us so not too worried a about this position currently. Backup is very poor in Adamonis so I will be looking to bring in a young keeper with a lot of potential this summer.

Defenders

The players we have are good here, however we don't have much depth. It will be 2 from 3 from Sule, Tomori and Christensen for the 2 centre back positions. We only have 1 out and out right back in James who will start there with some of the centre backs providing backup to him. Left back with have 2 solid players in Ait-Nouri and Reguilon. I have went with Ait-Nouri to start but they will manage this position between them.

Midfielders

Tonali and Jorginho will be our 2 starting deep lying position. Tonali is our highest rated player at the club. Mount will get quite a few games here and Moyano will play only if injuries hit. On the wings we will be going with Lopes and Dani Olmo with Luis Diaz as backup for both sides. We have some attackers who can drop back to here if required as well.

Attackers

We are extremely light up top with only 2 real strikers in Abraham and Macias (who is injured) so Patrac is going to play the slightly deeper striker role currently.

Youngsters

We have 3 youngsters in the first team squad in Guner, Abebanjo and Holland. I hope to give them some minutes if possible but I want to concentrate on getting off to a good start!

Transfers

Already started trying to buy a few players in for next season. Some experienced players which will help having strength in depth. 3 have come in so far of which you will know 2!

image.thumb.png.161c5e9444ca316b8b379bb515e6d467.png

Carroll comes in for £66m from Southampton. A fantastic player with massive potential. I will be training him to play in that deeper lying role.

image.thumb.png.d9dbb7b44047ac1effc97aebbf07b7b8.png

I couldn't resist on bringing him back. Yes he is 33 but his stats are still fantastic especially for that deeper role now. Also a great mentor for Carroll and on a free transfer it was an easy decision.

image.thumb.png.2a2cad520bb41ad02458af1b46bb9c61.png

Martial comes in for £5.5 as his contract was running out. A great squad player to have as he covers both wings and striker where we were short on.

League Table

image.thumb.png.6d6e026eb12fbfb5ca5e20c9104e4da2.png

A solid start to life in charge. We were 2-1 up at Everton then they went down to 10 men. After that it was completely one sided. Man City we were the better team but considering they were top at the time and I had to play a left back at centre back it's a good result. A slightly rotated team for the FA Cup match where Stoke really gave us a good game. Thankfully we managed to get through.

Euro Cup Draw

image.thumb.png.a450201d790df0876837468ca56bff64.png

We draw fellow English team Norwich in the Euro Cup. They are currently 3 places and 15pts above us in the table. How times have changed!

Euro Cup 2nd Knockout Stage

image.thumb.png.faf9386436177c4a6bd7ff4eeca7ccb4.png

We are really struggling with injuries with such a tiny squad and no one to promote from u23's due to most of them being out on loan. 2 more injuries in this game hasn't helped at all and I even had 2 put 2 goalkeepers on the bench here just to have 7 players. However a great win with academy player Adebanjo getting his first ever goal for the club and Tammy getting an injury time goal.

image.thumb.png.6f99deabb8a4cf1f7cef22ac7713608b.png

A much tougher game as Norwich were much the better team in the first half. Once again we were forced to play a number of academy players due to injury. Adebanjo, Kane, Hams and Guner all played and Kane even got his first ever goal for the club as well!

Draws

image.thumb.png.6ac7dec8ca5f9d64bba2c51d0d40f99f.png

In the quarter finals we will travel to Schalke first before playing them at the Bridge in the 2nd leg.

image.thumb.png.7af8eb2758027b93216e7fe3c799dfec.png

If we get past them then Roma or Bayer will await us in the other semi final. Without looking too far ahead a potential London derby could be on the cards in the final!

Shame to see you leave Middlesbrough as you were doing a fantastic job there but I suppose the allure of the club you support is difficult to resist.

Good luck

It was a tough decision because I really liked the squad I was building. If I can win the big one with Chelsea they are definitely a potential club to return to. They have struggled since my departure unfortunately!

Youth Intake 2025

image.thumb.png.0d553b2cfd0bfe40a7e9ad462d461851.png

A so-so intake however the 3 best players all play in positions we utilise so have tagged them.

Paul Clarke YP25A

image.thumb.png.fa740035c1e5cdf0feec1eeb965a3db1.png

I like the look of Paul Clarke, solid winger stats. If we could get the crossing and finishing up a bit he could definitely develop into something good

Joseph Walters YP25B

image.thumb.png.c0a408eb2760fae111f50db948c6bcee.png

Joseph can play anywhere down the right side but I like the look of him as an attacking full back which both of mine are. Work on his defensive skills but allow his natural attacking instincts to increase!

Lee Martin YP25C

image.thumb.png.5b931d5498b995c6c5a1634e4e36a1b0.png

Lee is probably my favourite from the 3, has good centre back stats for all the major attributes you would look for.

Out

I needed to create some additional funds for the summer so out are going Macias, Reguilon, Luis and Artola which is bringing in just over £100m. The other transfers out were arranged prior to my arrival.

Transfers

In

image.thumb.png.286d44e028aa2d1f592ee6136f7d0419.png

De Bruyne, Martial & Carroll you were already aware of. Zouaghi & Huet were organised prior to my joining.

image.thumb.png.0bb3c7bf92445fb0b4bd5f776fdcf4f0.pngimage.thumb.png.66d9264617a02d62334685246e5011d6.png

Huet is a great signing. versatile and can play anywhere in midfield, a fantastic prospect. Well done to the previous regime! Zouaghi is a pace defender who can play anywhere across the back. Always love having someone like him on the bench who can cover everywhere!

Now onto my South American contingent!

image.thumb.png.61cefbebd7f034986c213409a56aa0c5.png

Gaucho is a great prospect and he will immediately come into the first team. Great finishing, decision making and dribbling and only 17 years old! A steal at £16m

image.thumb.png.04332c71f1a06fb4d367ce4b836af6ca.png

Paulo Eduardo comes in for just over £17m and will be utilised mainly on the wings but handy that he can also play in the deep role! More one for the future compared to Gaucho.

image.thumb.png.253f0d91afaad318ae91172dbe781d08.png

Jonathan comes in for £21m. Another fantastic striker but offers something different to Gaucho. Great off the ball movement and good in the air. Also a great touch for a big man!

image.thumb.png.7033353232349a7600239627a3b65d9a.png

Frederico is a wonderful player and will be trained for the deep lying role. Great pace, passing. technique and vision makes him perfect for this role. £24m will be a wonderful price.

image.thumb.png.11a7b105060d01d66d165eacb6750c1c.png

Naldinho did not get a work permit but I dont think it will be too difficult to get one after he joins. Its a position we really needed more bodies. Reece James is our only natural right back so for £23m he is another shroud signing.

image.thumb.png.fa463e574f0e7264d1fb99a334bea60f.png

Peterson Buarque is our final South American signing! He is more one for the future than one who will come straight into the first team. Will be utilised on the wing so will train him up to play both sides!

This has wiped out pretty much our whole budget but I would consider all our transfers a massive success!

Euro Cup Quarter Final

image.thumb.png.29dc914d82997a096ca3a4a58b40065b.png

A comfortable night for us that should have been more. An away win though makes us favourites for the tie. Once again 3 academy prospects got minutes in Kane, Adebanjo and Guner.

image.thumb.png.dbade5fe5849ce5fb8acbb269234b1f3.png

A comfortable passage into the semi finals. Adebanjo started this time and settled any nerves and it was comfortable after that. Being able to take off the like of Patrac and Tonali for rests and more time for academy players.

A perfect month! We have played quite a few teams which are mid table or below in the league which is handy as I was able to rotate a bit more to keep players a bit fitter. We have managed to get 2 or 3 of the longer term injuries back as well which is good. We are 4pts off Norwich with 3 games left, could we possibly overtake them or is the Euro Cup our only route to the CL?
