Popular Post sporadicsmiles
An introduction to my goals. This is a file I have been working on for a long time now (several years, on and off). One of the things you can notice about Football Manager is that certain areas are not very well represented in FM (for obvious commercial reasons, mostly), but which are historically hotbeds of football. For me, the main one has always been Africa. Think of the number of African players who have made a huge name for themselves playing in Europe. My vision was to bring FM to Africa properly. This does not just mean activating leagues in the editor and releasing them immediately. I wanted to get the correct teams, in the correct leagues, with authentic rules. And most importantly, with the correct players. The main thing I wanted was accurate rosters for every team I have added. This is because often the roster in the FM DB is a hot mess for countries that are not included in the game by default. Often very out of date, with many young players missing, and older players not having been retired. This was my vision. Here is a summary of what the file includes. 5 nations have been completely updated with correct rosters, league rules, fixture rules, etc. These are: Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Tunisia. The top division and main domestic cup has been added for each of these leagues. I have tried to ensure the dates and rules are accurate. I do not have any intention to extend this to lower leagues yet, although this may be a future goal. Every team has a correct roster (correct on the date I did it anyway, it needs some curating after the current transfer window). Where possible, this includes contract details. This includes 422 players across all 5 leagues (if I am reading the editor correctly). All created players have position set, and have been assigned a CA and PA value based on the spread of ranges in the current squad. This is not the most accurate, but is better than letting the AI randomly assign values when you create a game. Free agents have also been pruned to remove those who have retired, and several duplicate players in the database (if you find any, tell me). Managers have also been added to team to be a realistic as possible. Finances have been set to realistic levels so they should not balloon unrealistically. Prize money is set according to the information I can find online. Everything has been tested and is stable. Some screenshots Algeria after 3 seasons. Egypt after 3 seasons. Ghana in the 3rd season Morocco after 3 seasons Tunisia after 3 seasons. What this file does not include (yet). I have not looked at teams outside of the top division. So promoted teams will not have accurate rosters. This could lead to some of them getting outclassed (depending on what their initial roster is like I have not added player history. This is a huge undertaking, so I have left off for now. It is also extremely dull, so we will see how far I go down that path. It is something I want to eventually look at eventually. I have not touched the staff, except the manager. Mostly because I find it difficult to find accurate information. I did not change the CA/PA of players already in the database. I have no idea how accurate this information actually is. No extra leagues or players from other nations. How to install. 1. Download the file attached to this post. 2. Put the file in your C:\Users\"name"\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\editor data\ folder. 3. Select the file when you create a new game. You should select the 19.1.0 database. All data here is correct for that only. Updated databases usually move players around, add playerse, etc. You may get player duplication if you select 19.3.0 4. Select whichever African leagues you want. They are in principle stand alone, you can select all, or just one. The Future work. Clearly this is something I want to continue to work on. The choice of league I have here has been entirely decided by the ease of access to information on team rosters. I have exhausted the common (and usually reliable) sources of information for leagues at this point. While some of the bigger African clubs (such as TP Mazembe) have plenty of information available, most sides in most divisions do not. I have yet to decide what to do about this yet. Obviously, most of the hard work has been done for these particular leagues right now. I will try to keep the database up-to-date with new transfers, but this is now much easier since I am starting from rosters that are accurate. So, the question is how to continue to expand this file (it is by no means finished). There are several options (feedback is welcome). Continue to add leagues (picking those with the biggest teams), and adding the rosters that I can find information for (as up to date as possible). Teams without information can be left blank and have rosters generated for them on creating a game. Continue to expand to other nearby regions. One obvious one would be Arabia, since we have a World Cup in the area soon. Add some lower leagues and take better care of the sides who can get promoted to the top leagues in the current file. Focus on bringing football to other under represented regions where football is quite important. Do the same kind of thing, but with the lower leagues of a big nation (accurate rosters as well as accurate competitions). Of course, at amateur level, this is almost impossible. I will take some feedback on this. I have not yet decided how to continue with this. Can I help? Most of the editing is done. The most helpful thing you can do is point out obvious errors in the database. I have tried to remove as many as I can, but I am not infallible. If you think there is a glaring error in where a player is, let me know too (bear in mind this is not entirely up to date for the winter transfer window). The other important thing you can do is give me reliable sources of information. I need access to current player rosters for African leagues. At this point, it would not matter where in Africa this is. Most importantly, enjoy the file! AfEx Tunisia.fmf

I have not updated the file for this yet, it is on my to do list for the next version (well, the main to do list for the next version). Although, I downloaded the file and ran it on my work PC, and everything worked normally for me. You have some screenshots you can share?

So where you select the editor data files, you just select AfEx Tunesia? I did not test it, but If I select that for some reason I can't have the sudenese league. (I know right.) Probably it is me, now I need to wait until everyone updates their league so I can have everything fresh and working. EDIT: When you update it to 19.3 can you just enable all leagues so I don't need several different updates to enable the 10-12 biggest leagues in Africa pls? thx a lot mate! The file that you have downloaded contains leagues for Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Tunisia. The file name is just incidental, it does not reflect the content (I will change that too). The Sudanese leagues are not contained in this file. I have focused not just on adding teams to leagues, but also adding the correct players to teams. So I have focused on leagues where I can get information easily about every team. I may yet extend to other leagues, but I will not be able to properly update all the teams. If you want all African leagues, you are better downloading a megapack that contains them. My primary focus has been to create leagues accurate to the player level. I'm holding off on this for the moment because I want to wait until FM20 so I have the updated database for that game. So I do not have to do everything twice. Then I will go through and remove duplicates, add new players, do promotions and the like. Maybe even extend the number of leagues. If you want to play just start a game with the 19.1.1 database when you start the game.
