This is Simic, there's probably a Second League player in there. Panic, has the highest PA, some good Mentals, great finishing but needs work elsewhere. This is my pick, has a better starting CA. Marsielle legend Lucas Ocampos joins in his first non-playing role after 15 years in France. He only has a National A licence so plenty of room to grow. And a new contract for myself. Posted October 20, 2018 Author Share Posted October 20, 2018 Slovenian First League - 2031/32 Again for me this season the aim was to go the season unbeaten, we didn't we lost one game (v Gorica) and drew one game (v Maribor) meaning we won the other 34. We were imperious, we racked up 103 points for the season, meaning to beat that total I either need to go unbeaten or win 35 games next season. To finish 34 points clear of 2nd place shows our dominance. We did however lose the Slovenian Cup Final to Maribor 1-0, in a game which was marred by international call-ups, we played a makeshift back four plus GK as he was injured. Three outstanding players in our attacking areas, who provided both goals and assists with Lucas who stood out the most with his 38 goals and 12 assists. Savin who after scoring 257 goals for the club wants to move on after dropping down the pecking order, a request I have granted him. We have Fransisco returning from his loan spell at Olimpija where he scored he scored 23 goals in 33 games for the club. A second season in the CL Group stage see's finances increase once again but a larger tax bill and director payments totalling up to nearly £8m see's a small dip at the end of the season. Some more expenditure this summer as board announced an expansion to the ground costing £700k and improvements to the training ground costing £1.4m. And to his credit he's not moaned once, he even signed a new contract during the winter window. He's my first choice GK but I do have a back-up who is just as good as him (I signed him this summer), ready to go if the bidding war reaches silly amounts. Currently rejected a bid just short of £5m for him (inc installments/clasuses) But why would I want to get rid of potentially the next Petr Cech? Posted October 20, 2018 Author Share Posted October 20, 2018 Europe & Transfers Update We secured CL Group stage football for a third season in a row, this is something I believe should be expected now unless we get drawn against a top 5 league club. You see some red there in that loss to Ludogorets, we rotated the squad slightly after that big home win. We also rotated in the away leg in Finland against SJK. Prague were a much tougher opponent however. Tough group and we are to be reunited with Hribersek (he's now worth 46m and on £160k p/w and described at a pacey hitman). If any points come then it will probably be from Marseille. Outs first, Savin who I mentioned wanted a new challenge left for his native Ukraine and to Karpaty for less then half his face value, I didn't want him to go another club in Slovenia so accepted the first bid. Monteiro played only two or three times last season, he went back to Portugal. Murray, the Australian went permenantly to Maribor after a couple of seasons on loan. The loans will aid the development of those players with them all being First League teams. Incoming; Djuric, a back up GK, who is more than ready for first team football if Havel left (he subsequently signed another new contract, which ended the interest in him), Sow a 18 year old DM who i'm retraining to CB, no risk at 2k. Waltz I was chasing last season as a 16 year old but couldn't get him in, they wanted £1.2m for him so to get him for half of that is a good deal. At the bottom of the list (I had sorted the list by personality and Perfectionist was last) was the man himself was interested in signing for the cream of Slovenia football. Upon leaving Real Madrid in 2023, it took him five years to get a job(?) as a U18 Manager at Chelsea. He was released by them in 2031 and been available since. Lucas has been the pivotal player for us scoring 21 goals in 20(1), whilst Gajic on the other hand has just seven but the majority of his goals so far this season have come in Europe. In the Champions League, we conceded six in one game away to Athletico Madrid as punishment for Gajic smashing a hat-trick past them the week before. Hribersek scored both goals on his return to Slovenia as Man Utd defeated us 2-0. Just four points collected in this seasons Champions League, which see's us finish bottom of the group. I don't want bad eggs in this club if I can help it so off they go for some good profit and have 50% profit clauses in the deals. No golden generation again. Awful, time for a new HoYD. Posted October 21, 2018 Author Share Posted October 21, 2018 U19 Champions League Last season the youngsters got to the Quarter Finals before being knocked out this year they've done much better. They smashed the group stage, then beat Marsielle on penalties to progress, need penalties again to beat Valencia, smashed PSG but then lost on penalties against Juventus in the final. He's now a wonderkid, not really set the league on fire however, been tinkering with his role/tactics to try and get him scoring more. Currently have him as an AM(a) with Shoot More Often added, which should go with his 'Gets in Oppostion Area' PPM. Anyway, he's wanted by no less than 12 clubs; Milan, Inter, Juventus, Monaco, PSG, Benfica, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd. Two things should stand out, 0 in the Loss column, so an unbeaten season finally and singular figures for goals conceded. We failed to keep a clean sheet in my last two games of the season so it could have been just seven conceded. We made it a domestic double by beating Olimpija comfortably in the final. I rotated even more than in previous seasons as I looked to make progress in Europe but to no avail. Two major stand out performers in Lucas (29 league goals in 30 games) and Gajic (29 goals and 27 assists). Gustavo did well on the inside forward role on the left and veteran (well he's 32 and leaving at the end of the season) winger Pecnik who contributed 15 assists. Huge amount of money sat there with the board providing big budgets. I can spend nearly £500k a week on wages yet my total wage budget is £42k p/w before a few yearly increases. We have agreed with the board to spend some of that money on facility upgrades. The best bit of news for the close season so far is the signing of a new contract for Novotny, signing a 5-year deal with the option of another 3 years if and when needed. Signed for 100k last season from Sutjeska, he featured 8 times in the league and had 7 clean sheets. Signed for 2k from Centre Africain, promoted to the first team this season and has trained as a CB. Another CB who I signed for 60k from Krsko three seasons ago. Currently learning from Zajc. Signed from KR for 100k. Spend last season out on loan at Gorica where he made 24(4) appearances. Cost me 600k last season from Wiener Neustadt. Loaned to Olimpija last season, will rotate with Krabec this. Summer signing for 150k from Sogndal. Two years in the youth team will see him improve greatly. Posted October 21, 2018 Author Share Posted October 21, 2018 Reaching the CL Group Stage & Transfer Update We entered the Champions League in the 1st Qualifying Round after the league slipped down the European Coefficients. Chikhura of Georgia were up first and easily defeated 7-1 on aggregate. Tougher opposition in Rosenborg were up next and after a 2-0 away win I wasn't expecting such a dominant home leg to advance 9-0 on aggregate. By this point the goals had been shared around a bit amongst the squad. Dundalk up next and they suffered a 7-0 hammering in the home leg with Lucas knocking in five for himself, we advanced 9-1 on aggregate. We were seeded for the Play-Off draw and we got Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Our first non-win result for us in the competition this season as we drew 2-2 at home. We rested players in the league for the second leg and that paid off as we hammered them 6-0 back in Israel, with Lucas notching four this time. Lucas ending the qualification period with 14 goals in 8 games. Aiming for 3rd here with the points coming from Anderlecht, I hope. No players joined other than the three youngsters. However quite a few left albeit all on loan except one. Mujanovic hadn't developed as well as I had hoped so offered him out and got a bite from Dinamo, £2.4m is a good price for him. Of the players out on loan Zagar and Sow i'm most interested in seeing how they develop, especially Sow as I wanted him to have a full season at CB at a decent club. Olimpija really struggling this season, I may have to give them and Maribor some more money to rebuild somewhat. Real Madrid are the current holders of the CL so to only lose 2-0 and 3-0 is quite good. I said before that I hoped to use Anderlecht to pick up the points in this group and we did. We also got a point from the Monaco away game so that left us with 7 points and we finished.... 3rd! Europa League KO's here we come. And we got.... Roma. Lien, a tall striker from Norway goes straight into the youth team. The other player is my new first choice right back, becomes my highest transfer in at £1.1m and he's a wonderkid to boot. Also becomes my highest paid player at just under £6k per week but has a £3.7m release clause thanks to his silly agent. Out are the following three players. Top and bottom were both 3rd choice full backs. Fares was signed in the summer for the U19's, half a season on loan in a first team will help him. Posted October 22, 2018 Author Share Posted October 22, 2018 Youth Intake 2034 This was the first intake with my new HoYD, Lorenzo Crisetig who has a Professional personality with 12 for JPA/JPP but only 8 for Working with Youngsters. Nothing stands out in particular. One stand out player in Mesaric but its another GK, a couple of other players who can become something decent. Something i'm really happy with is the personalities and determination, forgetting the bottom three players, just one player with single figure determination and two players overall with a negative personality. Posted October 24, 2018 Author Share Posted October 24, 2018 Slovenian First League - 2033/34 Another season goes by and another of domestic domination, we achieve more than 100 points for the 3rd consecutive season and we completed the domestic double by winning the Slovenian Cup beating Rudar in the final 2-1. In Europe, we finished 3rd in the Group stage meaning we qualified for the 1st KO Round of the Europa League. I'll let the image show you how things panned out. We somehow reached the final where we lost to Leverkusen to demolish Roma, Sociedad at home, come back from two goals down at Ajax then get past Valencia on away goals was a fantastic achievement at each of those hurdles and had we gone out in even the 2nd KO Round I would have been happy for the progress. Squad sorted by minutes played. One standout player in Lucas with his goals who was supported well by Gajic (27g & 23a), Gustavo (25g & 22a) and Skrbec with 21 assists as a defensive winger. Novotny was a huge influence and really found his feet at AMC with 16 goals and 14 assists which meant there was major interest especially from Chelsea. Lucas was incredible, 53 goals in all competitions but it was his goals in Europe which really stood out, 26 in all in 21(1) games. He is now the record holder for the most goals in a CL campaign with 18, beating Cristiano's record of 17. Big sums of money coming in from Europe. Huge budgets available if I want to use them. A second stadium expansion. Sow (CB), Marteinsson (CM), Brkic (AML) and Zajc (ST) will all feature more this season. Outgoing permanently are Francisco (hasn't developed), Cimirotic (3rd choice) and Lorber (DM/5th choice). Hendrych is probably the only player close to first team football who leaves temporarily as Sow jumps ahead of him in the CB queue. In Qualifying for the CL Group stage it wasn't all plain sailing as Dinamo and Brondby proved tricky opponents. Tough group as ever, hoping for points from CSKA. 3rd is the aim. We easily dispatched Dortmund in the 1st KO Round, then somehow went through on away goals against a far superior Bayern outfit. We got the easiest opponent in the semi's in Porto and got a 2-1 lead in Portugal to take back home. However an own goal from Cheik Sow saw us on the back foot and we succumbed to a 2-0 defeat putting us out of the competition at the semi-final stage. This season our goal scoring seemed to slow down, we scored 96 in the league, which is the most so far. We actually scored 154 goals for the season, we just shared them out more. Novotny finally became happy again and I signed him to a new contract but he's wanted again by Man City, Barcelona and Bayern. Young striker Zajc (12 goals and 12 assists) is now wanted by Monaco, Waltz by Benfica, wonderkid rb Rodriguez is wanted by City, Porto, Spurs and both Madrid teams. We could be in a bit of a battle this summer. Huge amount of profit again this season thanks to our European adventure. A third expansion to the stadium as we add nearly 1400 more seats to the capacity. We've also made plans to improve the youth facilities further at a cost of £1.5m. Posted October 27, 2018 Author Share Posted October 27, 2018 Rankings and Co-eff's The Slovenian First League jumps up above the Czech, Polish, Austrian, Danish, Serbian and Scottish top divisions. We jump above European giants such as Ajax, Napoli, Celtic and Roma. Big news for the 2036/37 season as our exploits in the past two seasons see's the league gain an extra CL place and keep three slots in the EL. So we should now have five clubs in Europe. I was starting to worry you had hit a ceiling of some sort in the past few seasons, but these most recent two have been a revelation. Its been an expected run in both the Europa and Champions League to be honest, we've beaten far superior teams in both competitions. Aktobe got a punishing, BATE likewise, Slavia Prague game us a game and we got lucky against Shakhtar to go through on away goals. We're now in the 3rd seeds pot, so not seen as the weakest team in the group. 3rd is the aim here but can we do what we did last season? Quite a few players out this season but we'll start with the ins. Kovac, a 17 year old Slovenian prospect signed from relegated Gorica was in first. Luperto as you can see was signed from San Marino, he's not got fantastic potential but the aim was train and tutor him purely for his national side, he's a moaning little swine who won't let anyone tutor him. Lastly in was Hanus, a new RB, at 20 years old he has fantastic mentals and physicals but lacks in technicals, will work on those and he will become a first team player. Permanent Outs; Zagar was on loan to Fuzinar and triggered the deal to sign for them, Mlinaric was available at the end of his contract and signed for the same team. Wonderkid right back was snapped up by Spurs for a little under his release clause plus 50% future profit. Bouabdellah, didn't progress and had a spine injury, let him go before he kept getting injured. Ribaljcenko was 3rd choice after promoting Trivulzio from the U19s. Hendrych and stalled in his progression and was 4th choice. And last to leave permanently was Lien to Inter, a prospect who had grown too big for his boots forcing a transfer through, numerous clauses in the deal to make some money if he makes it. Navarro (CB, 18), Ivkic (AMC, 17), Mlinaric (GK, 20), Rodic (CB, 21), Marjanovic (ST, 19) and Kovac all leave on loan, with three of them joining Serbian feeder club Borac. Posted October 28, 2018 Author Share Posted October 28, 2018 Novotny Interesting news came through from my Head of Youth Development Lorenzo Crisetig who now see's Novotny as being a world class player. He's maxed out at 5* CA & PA but Crisetig feels he could still improve which is fantastic. He's still a wanted man and who wouldn't want him! I rejected claused bids up to £13m in the summer window from Athletico Madrid, I tell every time he wants to move that he won't get the first team football like he does here and he's happy. A phenomenal Slovenian underused talent. I still have a 40% profit clause if Man Utd do sell him to one of the giants. This is Uros Zajc, another academy graduate who has improved vastly in the past two seasons, so much so that I believe he's better at this stage of his career than Hribersek was. They both play the Advanced Forward role and with another season or two I believe he will be the better of the two forwards. We've been scoring for fun in all formats of the game so far this season, 146 goals in total so far this season, we could be well on the way to over 200 for the season. We smashed the goal scoring record with a massive 131 in 36 games, which is just over 3.5 goals per game for us. We also beat our points total too, collecting 106 out of 108 points available. We were outdone by a class Chelsea side away in England. Goals, goals, goals. Two players scoring over 40 goals in a season for the first time I believe. We also had the top three scorers in the league, Lucas (28 in 28(2)), Gajic (27 in 21(8)) and Zajc (19 in 21(8)). Gajic and Gustavo both made 24 assists. I also blooded a few more youngsters into the first team, Trivulzio (LB) made two assists and finished with a 7.27 ave rating. Talotta (AMC) scored nine goals and made seven assists in 13(7) appearances and is now wanted by nine of Europe's elite clubs and wants a move already. I've made two deals to sell players who either moaned or wanted a new challenge. Djuric was the moaner, I have a replacement ready in Mlianric who has been on loan to Borac for the season. Kragelj wanted a new challenge, signed for 160k back in 2024/25 he's made over 400 appearances for the club and at 29 I wanted to get a decent fee for him. His replacement would be Talotta but if he keeps moaning then I will need to find another player. Just under £100m in the bank now and with the player sales above, that should be over that mark when the new season comes. Facilities are probably due an upgrade again now, both are at Great levels. Duncan (18) and Coelho (16) are both CBs whilst Helder comes in a AMC replacement in a try before I buy method as his release clause is a mighty 11.25m and early signs aren't too great. I used Borac in the Serbian SuperLeague again to send my youngsters to. The two pre-arranged transfer went through and my young Italian AMC Talotta was sold to Man City. He whinged and whined about a move and £2.5m + 50% profit. He instantly became worth £25m and a wonderkid but if they sell him, the money in will be very good In the Champions League we went straight into the Play-Offs this season and we faced Legia of Poland, we smashed them 10-1 on aggregate to advance to the group stage draw. In Europe we finished 2nd in the group to advance to the 1st KO Round where we will face Bayern. Four players in, two are youngsters for the U19s. Markovic, comes in and will probably take the first team spot in CM, had a £1.5m release clause. My record signing at £6.25m (release clause), will be first choice CB alongside Zajc, although he may take his spot next season and another CB signed. I also got a new affiliate club from Romanian to bring players from their youth setup. No indication of a good intake but we do have two youngsters from our affiliate clubs. Pretty poor, I'll let Rani off as its his first intake. We have three different nationalities; Romanian, Serbian and Argentinian, all three are awful but will be signed. Toplak the best of the bunch is ok and will become a First League player. Six players have good personalities, of which five of those will be signed. We also won the Slovenian Cup for the fifth successive time, making it 13 league wins and nine cup triumphs. We defeated Bayern over two legs thanks to a late equaliser from Novotny in the 2nd leg. We were rewarded with a tie against Monaco who were just too strong. We didn't score as many goals this season as we didn't have to play the first three CL qualifying rounds which were always goalfests. As you can see player values have skyrocketed with Novotny now being worth £25m, Gajic (19m) and Uros Zajc (17.75m) the next highest. 21 goals and 25 assists from Novotny was a great return for an AMC. We have a few players who are now 29/30/31 in Jan Zajc (CB), Lucas (ST), Pele (CB) and Gustavo (31) who will start to decline slightly. I have two first team CB's who can replace Zajc and Pele. Whilst Gajic still has a few years left in the tank, I have Uros Zajc and Alen Panic ready to rotate more with Lucas. AML, Gustavo's position is a little more tricky, I have a young Norweigen in Mohamed but he's an out and out winger not an inside forward which I prefer to use, they seem hard to come by. Over £110m in the bank even after spending over £6m on a new player this season. Another expansion. Posted October 31, 2018 Author Share Posted October 31, 2018 Record Sale After battling for season after season trying to keep Novotny, I have finally caved after week after week of him asking to move. Originally they only offered £29m, I countered to £60m then to £50m thinking they would reject so unfortunately I stupidly didn't have any clauses in. Bohemians, Novotny's former club net a massive £14.75m from the deal. Lucky them, will be interesting to see if they spend it.
