Why Fuchu Athletic?

I wanted a save a bit like Lysis but with more difficulty and in a different continent so after a bit of googling I came across this DB on FM Scout. The 10 tier Japanese DB immediately caught my eye so I loaded just Japan up to have a look at the clubs which took a while as the bottom tier consists of 16 groups :D  I read up on a few and Fuchu caught my eye mostly as at that moment in time I was thinking there's quite a few puns I could use for the name if I made thread :D but on reading their origin I actually started liking the idea of being Fuchu for a totally different reason as in turning a futsal side in to the best in Japan would be quite a story (and I took that slant on it for the thread title in the end).

I did do a test run and the DB isn't perfect, I can't get on to the club info screen, facilities or anything in the club section and it did put me off to the extent I tried a few other DB's but ended up having the same problem anyway so after doing a year holiday with the other extra leagues added to check it worked I decided that as I had liked the idea of Fuchu i'd stick with it because as long as it's only a cosmetic thing it isn't going to make any difference to my enjoyment anyway, board requests ect; are still there which is the important thing.

jc.thumb.JPG.eb7059b09e4e0ea74716c6d1093c3bc0.JPG

I've not decided on a formation as such, looking at it a 4-1-2-2-1 like Lysis for now could be the best formation but the style will be totally different because as a club known for futsal I want to keep that style ingrained in the club above anything else, i'll be looking for quick, short passing with the forwards free to be able to dribble and run at defences. As we attract better players i'll also be looking a lot of swapping of positions during the game so multi functional footballers will be a must, at this level I know it's going to be almost impossible to do but if players are there to do it I certainly will be doing.

S_7977644089028.thumb.jpg.867270d5e04ceeff4e5091cb580a80e6.jpg

For the save i've added a couple of extra leagues in Asia to keep it competitive and a couple in Europe

db.thumb.JPG.b506c17378ec97c9676c6c4c2c8847d8.JPG

I'll only be signing Japanese players for this, the temptation otherwise to nab a couple of standout South Americans would make it a lot easier and that isn't something I want. As with Lysis any nationality can be signed through my youth intake though. I've also removed the INC files to make the national side manageable if I fancy it at any point.

That's a weird thing about Japan, it's the same in 18.

That's one hell of a club crest they have.

What happens when the trailist reports basically tells you  that 14 players are better than you have? You try and sign them obviously :D I could have actually signed the other 3 plus a few the scout has pulled up but i've decided against it as I already had a full squad that were rated good enough before but saying that with this new batch coming in the ratings for them have declined and not a little either considering there was 3-5 stars there when I started

squad.thumb.JPG.793d8a979a8365231cda4141ad83b1ca.JPG

With these on amateur contracts the probability is that I will lose a lot of these pretty quickly and i've not had a single response to staff adverts so i've got to hope and pray my limited staff stay happy, especially the ass man and scout as at this level I can probably wing the rest as player turnover is bound to be high and with such poor facilities I don't see much improvement with players to really care about coaching them.

staff.thumb.JPG.b590a19352d1d810742027513c73f8a3.JPG

It seems a lot of clubs in the country are subject to takeovers which is eating up time as i'm subscribed to takeovers in every division in the game world but I want to keep an eye out for any tycoon takeovers so it's something i'll have to live with for now but hopefully it'll die down in a while, with over 40 divisions/groups in this country it's something that was bound to happen but once I gain a promotion i'll be removing that tier until I get to the 4th so hopefully things will run smoother.

Like Cyprus the odds seem a bit mess up

Everyone is even odds until you get to these poor guys :D

Is there a minimum age for footballers to play in your league?  The trialists seem to have lit up your squad :D

When I load it up later/ tomorrow i'll check but i swear one of the trailists was 13 and better than anything else I previously had and i'd have signed him if the scout hadn't said about injury proneness on the follow up report  :D  I'll do a screenshot of league rules but they've all played in the couple of games I squeezed in this morning before work  so definitely no age restriction :D

Japan a country I really don't know many things about them in Fm.. I really hope they don't turn into a powerhouse before you qualify for an Asian competition like in your last save..

I'm seriously considering buying the kit  http://www.fuchu-athletic.com/goods £67 (about 77 euros) though and another 10 for delivery :D

I've never thought of having a save there as it always seemed like hard work to delete certain files to play it :D This will be a bit different in the sense Japan is already ranked the best league in Asia but the money is going to be nothing like in Europe so I don't think it's going to make much of a difference :D If for any reason the money is half decent then the top flight clubs will have at the very least a 9 year head start on me (i'm assuming 9 promotions in a row isn't happening though :D )

I've not had much time as i'd have liked to play this but finally I can get a report in! It isn't helping that the DB is so big it is taking a while to get through it, it took about 5 minutes from the end of the first two cup games just to get the inbox up, there was over 1000 teams in the 2nd round  when we joined the competition :D so i'll definitely be removing divisions with each promotion as it's a bit too much to be going through.

I have no idea about the standard as this is obviously something i'm going in to totally blind :D but watching the games I think we're doing well all things considered, we were extremely unlucky in the 2nd defeat as we battered them without putting the chances away, the other defeat was deserved though. I do keep thinking we should be scoring more goals considering the chances we create and I was going to moan about it but then I remember the fact that this is probably the same as starting in level 20 English save or something so obviously the finishing isn't going to be very clinical :D

As you can see by the squad screen we're either a very dirty side or the refs are card happy :D I've never seen anything like it, we're on 4 red cards already (a few aren't in shot)

I made an extra signing as we lost Watanbe for a few weeks through injury

 takel.thumb.JPG.8dbbc00c0d749663497c0ff0bcc18f8e.JPG

he's not quite as good as the starting XI but better than the original squad and his ability to play in 3 positions will be a big bonus during the season, i'm trying to make too many signings but with the suspensions and injuries starting to mount up I think some more bodies might be handy, that said a couple of other teams at the same level have come in and taken a few of our back ups so maybe it isn't a big deal if we don't get anyone in.

I meant to post the league rules earlier so i'll get that up now

rules.thumb.JPG.40150d38dfd15b578a2c92288de09d04.JPG

At this stage i'd be hoping for top 3 considering the gap to 4th, it's actually more difficult to get out of this division then the next where the top 4 gain automatic promotion and 5th enter a playoff which is a bit odd.

Finally the cup run has been brilliant beating 3rd and 6th tier sides, we play Biwako Shiga of the 4th tier next, it's been handy for finances having the 2 legs as we get over 400 through the gate which obviously is a big difference to the 1 we had a couple of times :D

After a dreadful October and November which seen us drop to 3rd at one point I simplified the tactic a little which seems to have put us back on the right track and we certainly have a good points advantage now going in to the 2nd half of the season. Takei and Watanabe are probably the biggest difference between us and most sides in the division as they both seem to chip in with important goals for us.

I'm having a look through the players with the highest average rating and assists in the division as I type this as I think we're short of a CM and a back up winger so hopefully I can get someone good and interested enough to come in so I can get us out of this god forsaken division ASAP as 46-48 league games for the next couple of years does take up a lot of time :D

We lost in the cup but there was no shame in going out to a 4th division side, it would have been nice to get an extra round or 2 as the money from the home legs was adding an extra £1000 a time or so in to the kitty.

It is taking a while to get through this but i'm enjoying doing something out of my depth like this and the uncertainties about how good we actually are is keeping me on my toes.

The switch to something more simpler has worked wonders, i've kept the same shape (4-1-2-2-1) but in the October/November run it was obvious having lower league players trying to play short and quick wasn't working, I do feel a bit guilty I couldn't play that way as it is something I really wanted because of the club being that way with the futsall heritage but I don't know if it was a case of me switching the game off yesterday and a bad run when I started today (we've all been there :D ) or it was the tactic was too much for this level but I had to change and encourage a bit of a longer style of passing because on that form I was getting the sack if it continued much longer.

The tweak wasn't exactly Wimbledon but the simpler I made it the better the results, I knew the players were good enough as those that were 5 stars when I started had suddenly become 1 star or so, so it wasn't a case of us not quite good enough but for whatever reason it wasn't clicking today until the change.

We now have 7 games to get through but then thankfully we're out of this division, it's not that i'm after a quick run to the top but just to get to this stage is 19 hours playing time so 2/3 quick promotions and then change philosophy will cut a lot of that out :D

title.thumb.JPG.045f2cad76c5f505de4d6a3211abb5de.JPG

We signed this lad a few weeks back and he was rated better than any of our cm's by the scout and reports on him after he signed say the same

matsuoka.thumb.JPG.e55c12db45820a2328e21edcd38bc5b8.JPG

technically he isn't the greatest but physically it's pretty strong and he's done well in the games he played so far.

The youth intake was bad in the sense the potential is there but they were all useless now, we had a few potential 4 stars or above but the CA is too low for them to ever have a chance considering where we are at now, half a silver star CA for an amateur club will never make it and as it isn't a youth only career it's best to let them go now and save money.

Very well done!  Strong first season, hopefully you'll get more than a single parent watching their kids next season :D

Cheers, I actually thought we lost a few more than we had so was shocked at the table, just hoping the players don't switch off too much for these last few games though :D As for the fans we must have 1 very loyal one and the rest just turn up when they can be arsed :D Those cup games are important as they bring £1000 or so a time in but most months we lose between £500-1000 because of the amount of single fixture attendances we get, if we got about 100 per game while amateur I think we'd make a slight profit each month it's just a good job it isn't too much we are losing and still just about in the black.

What a great season that was, I had no idea what I was letting myself in for this season so to have got over 100 points and goals and 30 point gap to 2nd is nothing short of amazing, top top it off a 30 game unbeaten steak to throw in to the mix too

record.thumb.JPG.40133f907e5028ce0aeded3f5a4c8cea.JPG

As i've hinted at i'm hoping this next division isn't too big a step, we've already beaten 3rd and 7th division sides (albeit we were lucky against the 3rd tier one :D ) so i'm hoping we can do it just to speed the game up if nothing else though losing 16 groups from the 10th tier should help a lot :D

stadium.thumb.JPG.59398699b7117771e39c33fb9dc49fe0.JPG

This was disappointing as I think looking at the club info page on the first post it says various national stadia which suggests we don't have a permanent home and could be part of the reason for the poor crowds so our own ground would hopefully boost us quite a bit, the rise in division might see the attendance boost up a little though with any luck.

Nowhere as busy as last summer but enough to strengthen us all over the pitch, especially at full back where the pair of them were constantly being sent off :D We lost Watanabe over the summer which was a big loss and the reason for bringing Inoue in :( It's a big loss after his 29 goals last year but I expected it to happen and in all honesty when a team offers a wage then it's hard to get worked up about it, he was happy with the contract offer when I approached him in an attempt to keep him but obviously when money is involved in another sides bid then you expect the worst.

The odds suggest as I hope that we should be looking for promotion but the board only expect mid table so thankfully there's no pressure on me to go up at the first attempt.

jc.thumb.JPG.522fb1c10a169e1ee74f6c4c8b5effca.JPG

The last intake was horrible so getting this was great news for us but we'll probably need another 1 or 2 upgrades to it before we start seeing anything close to good enough to be worth considering signing.

We're doing really well so far, There does seem to be an improved standard we are up against as sides are making it a bit more difficult but thankfully we are finding a way to get through it. I thought losing Watanabe would mean a slump in goals but Takai and Inoue have both been superb with a few others chipping in so it hasn't been a problem at all.

The cup has been a bit easier this year playing a side in the division above and one below and the next one sees us against a side at the same level though in a different group so hopefully we can get through that and squeeze another round just to help the finances a little.

Injuries and suspensions has meant our form has dramatically dipped in recent weeks, we seem to be losing 2/3 players per game and had 8 miss out at the same time at one stage for a few weeks with 4/5 being the average out per game so there is just nothing I can do about it. Thankfully all we need to do is finish top 4 to go up and 5th gives us a playoff spot so as long as we start getting players back we should be fine to go up which is all I care about really.

Cheers, i'm convinced the attendances are a bug as we sold a couple of season tickets (can't remember the amount sold but it brought in £880) hopefully a stadium move will sort it out, for some reason we get people coming to the cup games and we should have a reasonable income as we play a J League side in the next round:cool:

WERE THROUGH!!!! :eek::eek: We defended like our lives defended it, last ditch blocks and tackles, they had 3 disallowed hit the post but just couldn't score.  I don't think i've ever seen a side of mine fight like that to win it was just incredible. Albirex are in a poor run of form and yes they are in the relegation zone but they should still have swatted us aside, i've never had a result like it in FM and i'm buzzing after that :D

I was happy enough seeing this a bit of a better amount for the prize money as the gate income from the home leg was £6k and then this

prize.thumb.JPG.3246355282bfba9b9efefb65eb5c1a9f.JPG

But I didn't know on we got part of the gate from away legs too which with 16,000+ attending meant we moved from £26k in the bank to this

:eek::eek::eek:

That is absolutely massive for us and with this as the draw for the next round which will see a probable crown of around 25k this club could really begin to change as Urawa are all but through after having a good lead from the 1st leg

A step too far as they killed us off in the return but i'm so proud of the players for their efforts throughout the run, it has been amazing and the finances have given this club the chance to move on to another level.

On to the league for the rest of the season now and we're slowly pulling the deficit back so the exit is probably a blessing in disguise as i'm sure we'll get another chance to play a top flight side but for now it's about getting up the leagues

Delighted to have another title, especially as we lost our way a little at the back end of 2015 and it's been a special season in the cup too. What pleased me most for the majority of the past year was the amount of times we looked dead and buried in games but we came back to snatch a point or win the players shown a tremendous attitude to battle the amount of times they did when they could have easily given up. Inoue is obviously the star of the year, 55 goals in 51 games is exceptional in any league and that really made all the difference as I was worried after losing Watanabe we may have struggled but he more than replaced him!!

Next year things are going to be a lot different for us I feel, there's been no announcement yet about if we will at least turn semi pro and in all honesty from a financial point of view I hope it doesn't happen quite yet though it would at least allow us not to keep losing our best players to anyone who is because when they start offering cash it's obvious the players will take the money and as frustrating as it is it's something anybody would do so I can't get too angry about it. We will be up against a fair amount of semi or pro clubs next year so the competition is sure to be a lot tougher, survival is the aim and anything else is a bonus but this does feel like where the challenge really starts.

There's some good news that's come through though how we will pay for it once the cup money goes is anyone's guess :D :D

The new stadium will hold 4,100 so if we can attract a good amount rather than 1 lone parent then we might be able to support ourselves otherwise we need 1 top flight club a year in the cup to pay a years worth off at £12k per month, short term with over £400k in the bank though it isn't too much of a problem if we don't manage a glamour tie.

Amazing stuff in the league, just 18 points lost in a 46 games season is pretty special :applause:

Congratulations on getting a new stadium, that should be enough till you reach top/second division, I presume?

Cheers, we had to be really on it with Flugels being so good too any other of the 2 Ken Rigu groups and they'd have walked it the best of the other 9 groups had 97 points. Yeah I think that the new stadium will be enough for a while, we only got over 1000 against the 2 J league sides and only 100 or so for Flugels but maybe having a proper ground will change that a bit. Flugels got over 10k every week last year so it shows how much we have to make up

Going semi pro was something I wasn't over keen on but with the cup money it was something that I was pretty sure that would happen. I've offered a few contracts seeing as this happened to key players to at least ensure we don't lose the main ones but i'm not prepared to offer everyone a contract just yet.

Another great start by us and one I didn't expect at all but i'm certainly not complaining about it, tight at the back and we're scoring for fun, keeping hold of our best players and the four additions seems to be enough for us at this stage.  I am keen not to get complacent though, we've had it almost our all our own way so far during the save but there's got to be a point where we hit a block, i've seen first hand where teams from this and the next level can afford to pay wages to poach the best players from further down the divisions. In this group there's only 7 semi pro sides including ourselves, i've checked out 2 of the 4 groups in the next division and i'd say more than half of those were semi pro at least and by the 6th tier everyone is semi pro so it should start slowing down by the 6th division.

I've got the temptation now to start asking for training upgrades, while we have a chance. We're losing about 30k a month atm and with no idea about the sort of attendances we will get in the new stadium it might be a while before I can afford it, we've only been playing lesser sides in the opening 3 rounds of the cup but we can't rely on getting a J League side for a pay off every year as from round 2 every single club is in the draw and all it takes is to draw a 3rd-5th division side and 9 times out of 10 we're out this is why i'm hoping the new stadium helps us a lot more, currently we are getting between 200-500 and that isn't helping us at all financially.

Goodness me, you're strong this season.  Good to see, all the parents finally attending home matches and even some plastics are there now :D

It's surprised me how good we are this year, survival was my aim but we're probably going to have promotion secured with 15 games to play at this rate :D

The attendances are certainly a lot better even though not enough to stop us losing money each month but at least I know we're not going to be stuck with single figure attendances throughout the save :D we even made 2 records this year with the attendances

Great, great and great work! 46 games really mate you are very patient..

It is a lot of games but the processing isn't actually that bad now as 26 sub divisions have gone and it's made a big difference to the speed i'm getting through things, rounds 2 through to 5 of the cup take a while to process once I've played my game though, in round 2 this morning I had time to go toilet (wash my hands afterwards obviously :D ) make a cup of tea and toast and it was still processing :D  but I don't mind that so much now I know because I can just get on and do something else/read here for a few minutes, the first time I was sat waiting for ages like a lemon :D :(
