[Discussion] "Live" Newgens/Be a Newgen

The idea is for an app that would run in conjunction with the game.

Using the app you would create yourself (or your alter ego,) including information such as Name, Nationality, Position(s), Footedness, Personality, Favoured clubs and appearance (similar to create a manager.) You wouldn't have any influence over the CA or PA, and only a limited influence on the strongest attributes of your character.

Within the game there would be an option for "live" newgens. With this activated (ideally it would be by default) there would be a chance that any newgen generated in your game could be a character created by someone on the app. You wouldn't initially know that this was the case, and they would be generated with an automatic CA/PA that was suitable in their specific case. Whether they were a future star or not would be entirely down to luck.

Once the player generates in your game an alert is sent to the app user to let them know that they have been born into a world. Through the app they can then see their players profile page as it appears in the game, and track their career as it happens.

In future versions there could be a whole host of interesting possibilities.

Maybe on the app on you could mark yourself as "online" and if any of the games that you had been generated in were being played at that moment in time, then new options might appear, relevant to the status of your in game player. For example indicating that you were unhappy about not getting enough games could kick off the relevant private chat in the person's game, and you could then see the outcome. Or perhaps you could choose from a list of possible "positives and negatives" that show on the profile page of a player - for example "Wants to win a trophy and is excited about the team's chances in X" or "would like to move to X interested club."

Perhaps there could be location based elements, such as being more likely to generate at a club that is near to your current physical location. For example you go on holiday to Greece and then shortly afterwards you notice that you have been generated in someone's game at AEK Athens.

What could also be fun would be if you could choose your best career as a newgen in someone's game and import that into your game to use as a manager character, with the history etc all used.

Interesting ideas, but what about anti-trolls? How can we stop from troll to pick a fight with you, just because. How do we stop that?

The idea is certainly an interesting one, but I would say would you really want your name, age and date of birth, place of birth, home location and current location sent out to millions of people around the world? There's enough information there to quite easily work out where someone lives, see that they're on holiday for a week and break into their house for example. Not to mention as it's personally identifiable information they'd be data protection issues.

The Idea is an interesting one, and I think could be good with limited information provided (All you would need to provide is a Name (which is subject to filter checks for things such as profanity, etc), position and Nationality).

 

There a few issues I can see, though it may work as a new game mode, so only those who agree to the security terms and conditions would participate, and only those game files are a part of the sharing between users \ devices.
