My Big Fat GK can score more than your Big Fat GK (Blast from the past challenge).

Recommended Posts

Just saw Lucio take a wide free-kick on the touchline and Palermo cleared the crossed ball with a good header and Lucio failed to retrieve the ball that was cleared towards him and Palermo stormed past him down the right and scored from miles out wide on the right.

He redeemed himself 4 mins later though by spanking in a direct free-kick for his 4th of the season.

With 3 mins left on the clock, he then only goes and grabs his 2nd brace of the season as he adds a late penalty to his earlier direct free-kick.

5 for the season, (from 26 games), and 86 career goals in total.

I'm almost positive that he has never scored a hat-trick.

Lucio has just scored his 90th career goal, (and 9th of the season). (A pen in the Champions League against Bayern).

I love this thread.. I've been following it for a while, looking forward to Lucio getting over 100 goals.

Hi Jimbokav1971, how old is Lucio and which season he is in? Do you think he can overcome Ceni?

Lucio is 29yo now towards the end of the 2039/40 season.

Getting to the Final of the domestic Cup and Champions League and playing in the domestic Super Cup = 57 games and he plays every game when fit and is averaging approx 10(ish) goals a season right now, (although all these would go up if I was playing in World Club Championship.

So taking it all into consideration, (and how he looks now), yes, the World record is still very much on.

Lucio career stats.

He was produced by the AC Milan Academy and my scout found him early. I kept making bids and these were often accepted, (at quite reasonable amounts), but he was never interested in joining. I kept at it though until one day he just said yes. I can't remember why I agreed to loan him back to AC. I think I just thought he was too young at 18 and if I didn't want to play him, I at least wanted him to be playing elsewhere. That he kept 3 clean sheets in 4 Serie A games while only 17 is unusual, but when you see that he played in Europe for AC, (twice), aged only 16, you know you have got something special on your hands.

I should have a new keeper to start this with in a few seasons. My current keeper is 30 but I have yet to find a good replacement from my youth system. I'm hoping to get one soon as my national team could really do with some quality between the sticks, so anything decent will get a chance in the Serie A squad.

Summary: It's a bit of a shame that he didn't hit double-figures again because that would have dragged him past 100 career goals. Alas it wasn't to be and we shall have to keep waiting. He didn't miss any pens this season, (3/3), but he was robbed of 2 opportunities by players on hat-tricks, and I lost count of the number of times that I saw a Super-GK palm a goal-bound free-kick onto the woodwork. I have also started using an "instant result" skin on many league games which means that I don't manage nearly as many games as I used to, (so that might be having an impact). Will just have to see how it goes next season.

San Marino will pay tribute to Lúcio * (F.Pro) when they play AC.Milan in a specially arranged testimonial on Saturday. Now in his 12th year with Titani, having played 586 games, the match will be a fitting tribute to a San Marino stalwart.

Lúcio * (F.Pro) is truly one of World football's global superstars. Having made his Italy debut against Slovenia in November 2029, he has gone on to make 134 appearances for his country. Lúcio * (F.Pro)has been a devoted servant to San Marino since he arrived from AC.Milan for £5.25M in 2029.

Lúcio * (F.Pro started his career at AC Milan in February 2023, breaking into the 1st team in 2028 and making a total of 21 league appearances During his time with Rossoneri, Lúcio * (F.Pro) won the following titles.

2026 U19 Champions Cup.

2029 Italian Youth Club Invitational.

Lúcio * (F.Pro) joined current club San Marino for £5.25M in August 2029 and has currently made 404 league appearances and scored 75 goals for the club. (That's incorrect. He has scored 98 career goals). Lúcio * (F.Pro) has so far lifted the following titles.

Serie A. (9 occasions).

Club World Championship. (4 occasions).

2030 World Cup.

Champions Cup, (4 occasions).

2030 EURO Cup.

European Super Cup, (4 occasions).

Italian Cup, (5 occasions).

Italian Super Cup, (8 occasions).

Lúcio * (F.Pro) has been recognised for his talent and achievements with several awards.

Olympic Games best GK.

Serie A GK of the season, (8 occasions).

Italian Media Italian player of the Year.

Shortlisted for the Golden Ball, (3 occasions).

He is still only 31 years old.

I knew that would work.

Lúcio (F.Pro) * scores his 100th career goal from the penalty spot, away to Palermo to give us a 1-0 win. Would have preferred a free-kick, but a goals a goals a goal.

100!

100 goals for Lucio_zpsxvxjuial.png

Right now. What's that Rogerio Ceni chap on? 126 or something?

Goals #103 & #104 for Lúcio * (F.Pro) arrived in the Cup against Parma as we experimented with a new attacking tactic and ran out 6-3 winners. He scored a 1st half free-kick and a 2nd half pen, but by then someone else had already taken an earlier pen, (for their hat-trick), so he again misses out on a hat-trick.

Very good season from Lucio this time out.

It's been a bit of a strange one actually.

Historically he has started each season on fire and usually he scores somewhere in the region of 5 goals in the opening 10 games of the season. This season however he scored just once in the opening 16 games of the season. We lost the Italian Super Cup and 1 Serie A game, but we weren't playing well and I was becoming concerned that his goals were drying up so I threw caution to the wind and went with a far more attacking tactic. We had already lost a Serie A game so there was nothing to lose, (as we had already built up a decent lead and seem to finish strong when others falter because of our huge squad. The change in styles has had a dramatic effect and since we lost to Napoli, (the watershed moment when I changed my tactics after a 2nd Serie A loss), we have played 23 games and he has scored 9 goals. Now that's what I'm talking about! He's even missed out on a couple more opportunities as twice we have had a player on a hat-trick take a penalty off him, and he has also missed 3 penalties himself. It makes me wonder how many opportunities I have spurned by playing in my old style.

There are actually only 7 players at the club, (including tutors), who have scored more career goals than him.

Luciano (ARG/NED) (Model Pro) has scored 174 in Argentina, Brazil and Holland. (He is just a tutor and has only played once for us).

Pier (SMR) (2023) (F.Det) has scored 159 in Italy, Germany and 1 season in Portugal. He has also scored 62 goals in 118 appearances fro the (SMR) NT.

***Ceccoli (SMR/ITA) (2026) Pro has scored all 158 goals for San Marino, (club), and also 17 goals in 88 appearances for Italy.

Visentini (SMR) (2021) (F.Pro) has scored 141 in Italy, Serbia, Belgium, Scotland, Qatar and Sweden. He has also scored 63 goals in 161 appearances for the (SMR) NT.

Rob (SMR) (2033) (Model Pro) has scored 129 goals for San Marino and also 41 goals in 55 games for the (SMR) NT. He is only 24 years old.

Gerri "Rossi" (2031) (Model Pro) has scored 120 goals for San Marino and also 21 goals in 47 games for the (ITA) NT. He is 26 years old now.

El Amrani (ITA/MOR) (Model Pro) has scored 112 goals, (111 of them for us), and has only ever played in Italy. He is 37 now though so almost calling it a day. Not bad a for a centre-half that I snapped up for £57k, (best purchase in any CM/FM ever, (bar none).

Gerri "Rossi" (2031) (Model Pro) is the best striker at the club but he is playing 2nd fiddle to Rob (SMR) (2033) (Model Pro) simply because he is Italian, and also because he had a serious viral infection that kept him out for a whole season. Now Rob starts Serie A games when he is fit enough and Gerri starts everything else. By the way, no it is not a coincidence at all that they are both Model Pro.

Luciano Canini Is now entering the competition. His professional debut was at 15 years of age in a European Qualifier against Russia, losing out 4-1. He scored his 1st goal in his second match, a penalty in a 4-2 win over Austria.

He looks brilliant.

The only negative thing I can see is that he is only 177cm tall which equated to 5'8" I think.

I can't remember if you are playing FM14 or FM15. but in FM15, although players grow, a small player will never become a big player.

Brilliant start though and well done for having the bottle to just chuck him in.

The Semi Final 1st Leg of the Champions League and Lúcio (F.Pro) * takes a free-kick short and AC Milan go up the other end and score. He does it again with 7 minutes left and they hit the post with him still out of position. Luckily we have scored 4 at the other end, but he is giving me bloomin kittens at the moment!

He is a little short, but it is the first decent keeper to come through who is Sammarinese. I have been chugging along with a makeshift stick man, so hopefully he can develop some good hops to get those top corner shots!

Lucio must of heard about the competition because he is scoring like a madman this season. Good on him!

Summary: It was a bit of a strange season in that where he often starts scoring freely at the beginning of the season, it was actually quite the reverse this time around. He was scoring so infrequently that it caused me to change to a more attacking tactic and in the latter part of the season this seemed to pay dividends as he seemed to score at almost a goal every 2nd game, (which is ridiculous I know). What's worse is that he twice hit doubles, and I think on both occasions he was denied a hat-trick by another player being given a pen becaiuse they were on a hat-trick at the time. Sooooo frustrating. He actually had 3 penalties saved this season too. Rogerio Ceni seems to have scored another goal while I wasn't payuing attention recently and the target to beat is now 127, (so 15 more to draw level). I would expect ceni to score somewhere in the region of another 5-6 goals this season to bring his tally to approx 132.

Keepers keep surprising! Great finish actually :)

A shame about not saving too. I too lost one (only one goal) due to a non save, but my battery died and didn't resume the session :(

Canini also scored in a friendly, but as these are not official, I will keep an unofficial track of them.

Notches up 21 goals to end the season, all by the age of 20. 13 for club, and 8 for country at an average of 4 a season. At this rate, if he plays until 35, he will reach 80 goals for his career. Hopefully, his states get good enough for him to become a regular between the sticks, and not a rotation player, as he is at the moment.

After scoring 4 goals in 4 games at the end of the 2042/43 season, I am really struggling to get scoring again now.

He has scored just 1 single goal in the opening 25 games of the 2043/44 season and had not a single penalty. I played the end of last season what seems like ages ago, (about 4 months ago in real life I think), and I have struggled to adapt the tactics after changing them. We are doing ok, but we are just not winning the pens that we have historically.
