This is my expenditure: [/img] My biggest outlay was ground renervations (5m to get it up to standard after promotion) and although I'm spending 46,000 a week on wages, I'm 60,000 under budget with that. I'm losing roughly 200,000 a month, so trimming down my wages won't help too much. My biggest outlay is my youth facilities. Just learnt as well that there is no prize money in Spain, so won't be getting any money at the end of the season. In short, my question is, how do I improve my finances? My squad isn't worth very much so no big sales and given that I'm almost certainly going down at the end of the season (on 6 points after 28 games and and am 25 points from safety with 14 games to play) attendances will certainly fall (averaging 1100 at the moment). Do your players have a Relegation clause in their contracts that will reduce their salary? I think my most expensive player is less than 100k off the top of my head. And as for relegation clauses, a few do (the more recent signings) but many don't as they either refused to sign with one or I haven't renewed their contract since I started. Just a question, is that team the B team of Athletic Bilbao? Nope, it's a team I put into the game using the editor. The other option is deperately looking for a good parent club that pays you to be a feeder (although you won't get the 2.4m you need to steady the sinking ship). I've got some youth players that came through last season (I'm in my 2nd season) and doing well. Have 3 or 4 of them on the bench/making odd appearances and they're doing pretty well. Youth is a big part of how I play FM and trying to get a all home grown team, so really don't want to cut back. Have Barca as parent club at the mo, so that's 55k a year, but that's not enough. Will be getting rid of the deadwood at the end of the season, which will raise 100k tops. Fingers crossed the chairman pumps some money in... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

My youth player from my intake last season has scored 4 in 4 recently and the others have been getting good ratings, so worth keeping it up I think. Hopefully getting rid of the deadwood will put a little money in the bank and reduce the wages. Just moved back into my ground after the renovations and pulled in a crowd of over 2000 for the first time this season. That, a friendly against Barca (my parent club) and a few more high profile friendlies should help bolster the funds hopefully... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Kenco Posted May 9, 2014 Share Posted May 9, 2014 It's natural to lose money on a monthly basis but then to recoup all of your losses at the end of the season through, sponsorships, season tickets, prize money, etc. Now that you've been promoted I would guess that all of these will go up, in addition to TV money and matchday income through ticket sales, so you just have to ride this out and you'll be fine. He's about to be relegated again though. This situation feels very unrealistic to me, a club with average gates of 1,000 spending over £2m a year on a youth academy? IMO you've edited a team in with a youth system far in excess of what that team can realistically support, so you can either treat it as an experiment - can you sustain a tiny club through a top class youth academy, or play it more realistically by cutting the youth academy back (notwithstanding the board problem you've now encountered). Yeah, didn't realise how much the junior coaching really costed, but the board has decided to pump some money in plus have 3 U-19 internationals whilst in the third tier, so will try and ride it out and see what happens...
