September 26th: Notts County (A) League Cup 3rd Round

We start the defence of our trophy and it didn’t take us long to have the first real effort as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged into the area and slotted the ball under the keeper, but before he had the chance to celebrate the referee ruled it out for a foul. On the 15th minute we had another chance as A.Marks rattled the upright from 30 yards after breaking free in the midfield. Six minutes later G.Bear fluffed the chance to score with what should have been a simple tap in but he managed to screw his effort wide of the post. On the 31st minute our pressure finally paid off as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in an A.Marks cross. However two minutes later some poor defending by B.Arsenal saw F.Nouble free in the area and he wasted no time in firing past M.Wilson.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a double change at half time with S.Carl Goatsburg and Panpardus coming on for B.Arsenal and G.Bear. Eight minutes into the half we grabbed the lead back as S.Stoehr threaded the ball to the feet of F.F.Tikle-Wok who fired under the body of the Notts County keeper. Yet again our defence let us down as a sloppy clearance by T.Owens saw F.Nouble intercepting and firing past the outstretched arms of M.Wilson. On the 79th minute we had the chance to retake the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok showed some strength to beat the defence and he fired towards goal but his effort was easily saved by the County keeper.

End of Ninety Minutes 2-2

We controlled extra time without really threatening the County defence and the game was forced into the lottery of penalties.

Notts county took the first penalty with G.Caldwell firing towards goal but M.Wilson saved well (0-0)

Captain M.Kowalski was our first taker and he wasted no time in unleashing the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net (0-1)

J.Fleck was next up for County and he fired low to the left but yet again M.Wilson guessed right and saved the ball (0-1)

A.Marks was next up and he slotted the ball in off the upright after sending the keeper the wrong way (0-2)

K.Klevinskas was up for County next and he showed the rest of the team how to score with a thunderous effort which nearly took the hand off M.Wilson (1-2)

T.Owens stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to score (1-3)

M.Thornhill was next up for County and he dinked the ball over the diving body of M.Wilson 2-3)

S.Stoehr stepped up next for us and fired towards goal but his effort was well saved by the keeper (2-3)

R.Taylor stepped up for County and wasted no time in sending M.Wilson the wrong way to score (3-3)

C.Fantu was up next knowing his penalty would send us through and he unleashed the ball past the keeper with ease to send us through to the next round

Notts County 2 F.Nouble 33, 58

Hardly Athletic 2 J.Scottlee of Hesselink 31, F.F.Tikle-Wok 53

M.Wilson, B.Arsenal (45-S.Carl Goatsburg), G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, M.Kowalski (capt), C.Fantu, A.Marks, S.Stoehr, G.Bear (45-Panpardus), J.Scottlee of Hesselink, F.F.Tikle-Wok

September 30th: Reading (H) (6/46)

We began well and on the 9th minute we had our first chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran onto a C.Fantu throughball and fired towards goal but his effort was well saved by the keeper. Eight minutes later we grabbed the lead as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in a great cross by C.Fantu. On the 33rd minute we had another chance to score as F.F.Tikle-Wok played a one two with S.Stoehr and fired towards goal but his effort was easily saved by the keeper. With three minutes remaining in the half we grabbed another goal as G.Bear curled in a great freekick from 30 yards after T.Owens was tripped on the way to goal.

Half Time Score 2-0

Nine minutes into the half we had another chance to score with G.Bear trying his luck from the edge of the area but his effort was acrobatically tipped over the crossbar. On the 65th minute I made a change as Panpardus for F.F.Tikle-Wok. Five minutes later we added goal number three as J.Scottlee of Hesselink hit a powerful effort from just inside the area to give the Reading keeper no chance of saving. On the 72nd minute though we let ourselves down alittle as some poor defending saw Z.Dedic running free of the defence and firing under M.Wilson. Eleven minutes later we should have added goal number four after Panpardus was brought down in the area for a penalty, J.Scottlee of Hesselink stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but the Reading keeper guessed right and saved the penalty

Hardly Athletic 3 J.Scottlee of Hesselink 17, 70, G.Bear 42

October 5th: CSKA Moscow (H) (2/6)

We didn’t start well and on the 5th minute CSKA grabbed the lead as O.Moussa Maazou ran into the area unmarked and headed a simple cross over M.Wilson and into the net. Eleven minutes later they had another chance with a curling effort which was diverted wide by M.Kowalski. On the 23rd minute we had our first chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran past the defence and fired towards goal but the CSKA keeper saved well. Three minutes later we grabbed the equaliser as G.Bear hit a thunderous effort from 25 yards past the keeper who stood no chance in saving it. On the 42nd minute we had another chance as S.Stoehr beat the offside trap and fired goal wards but the CSKA keeper again saved well.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change at half time with C.de Bruijn coming on for C.Fantu. We again came out of the changing room slowly and on the 47th minute CSKA had the chance to take the lead with a great effort which beat M.Wilson but not the crossbar. Twelve minutes later we had our next chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran onto a G.Bear through ball and fired towards goal but his effort was tipped brilliantly over the crossbar by the keeper. On the 74th minute CSKA had their next chance as T.Owens slipped in possession of the ball but luckily for him G.Spavlachenko saved the day with a crunching challenge to deny their striker. With six minutes remaining in the game we grabbed the three points as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in a C.de Bruijn cross to send the home fans wild

We started the game well and on the 13th minute we grabbed the lead as G.Bear jinked through the defence and rounded the keeper to slot the ball into the open net. Three minutes later we made it 2-0 as C.Fantu curled a great freekick in from 25 yards after F.F.Tikle-Wok was hauled down on the way to goal. We were running the show with ease and on the 33rd minute we had another chance as S.Stoehr rattled the upright from the edge of the area. Just before the break we came close to goal number three as S.Stoehr again tried his luck from distance but this time the Huddersfield keeper blocked the effort.

Eight minutes later we had our next chance as Panpardus barged into the area and fired just wide of the post. On the 79th minute we had our final chance of the game with J.Scottlee of Hesselink running onto a C.Fantu pass but his final effort was pretty poor and the ball went well wide of the post.

Seven minutes into the game I was forced into a change as A.Marks received a blow to the face and was replaced by C.de Bruijn. Three minutes later though we were a goal down as Rafa beat the offside trap and fired under G.Burgess. October 18th: Nottingham Forest (A) (9/46)

I made one change at half time with S.Saville replacing C.de Bruijn. Eleven minutes into the half we had the next chance as G.Bear tried his luck with a thunderous effort towards goal but the Forest keeper managed to tip the ball over the crossbar. Forest weren’t getting anything from the ball and on the 63rd minute a Panpardus effort was diverted past the Forest keeper by D.Senior for an own goal. Two minutes later we killed the game off as F.F.Tikle-Wok played a great one two with J.Scottlee of Hesselink and lashed the ball past the keeper. October 21st: Coventry City (H) (10/46)

We started slowly and on the 7th minute Coventry came close to taking the lead as they broke through the defence but G.Burgess was alert enough to block the effort. Six minutes later they had another chance with a great team move which was thwarted by a defensive sandwich involving S.Carl Goatsburg and M.Kowalski. On the 31st minute I was forced into a change after a late challenge saw F.F.Tikle-Wok having to be replaced by C.Fantu. Just before the break Coventry had yet another chance with a curling effort which was diverted wide of the post by B.Arsenal.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made one change at half time with S.Stoehr coming on for C.de Bruijn. On the 59th minute we had our first chance of the game as C.Fantu hit a curling freekick into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink failed to connect with the ball properly and his header screwed wide of the post. October 31st: Watford (A) League Cup 4th Round

Three minutes into the game we took the lead as J.Scottlee of Hesselink used his strength to barge into the area and fire past the Watford keeper. However straight from kick off Watford equalised as they broke through the defence and fired under H.Chaha. On the 19th minute we had our next chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok tried his luck from outside the area but his effort was tipped over the crossbar by the keeper. Three minutes later Watford grabbed the lead as R.Dimitrov ran unmarked into the area and headed past the outstretched arms of H.Chaha. On the 38th minute Watford had another chance to score as my defence fell asleep but luckily for us H.Chaha was on hand to block the effort.

Half Time Score 2-1

We started the second half well and on the 51st minute we had the ball in the back of the net from a C.de Bruijn effort but the referee ruled it out for offside. Just after the hour Watford came close to extending their lead but H.Chaha again saved well from a long range effort. On the 77th minute we had our next chance with Panpardus rattling the upright from 25 yards after running onto a loose ball. Just before the final whistle Watford had the final chance with a great team move which broke down the defence with ease but yet again H.Chaha saved well to deny them. November 4th: Middlesbrough (H) (11/46)

It took us awhile to get going and on the 28th minute we had the first chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran into the area unmarked and fired towards goal but the Boro keeper saved well. Ten minutes later Boro had their first chance as a poor clearance by H.Chaha was volleyed back towards goal but the ball went just over the crossbar. On the stroke of half time we had another chance with Panpardus firing past the keeper but not the upright and we went into the half time interval level pecking

Half Time Score 0-0

I made one change at half time with S.Stoehr coming on for C.Fantu. On the 56th minute we had the first chance of the half as S.Saville ran into the area unmarked and headed a C.de Bruijn cross just over the crossbar. Eleven minutes later Boro had another chance with a curling effort from 25 yards but the strikers effort went just wide of the upright. On the 69th minute I made a change as G.Bear came on for J.Scottlee of Hesselink. Ten minutes later Boro had the chance to score after a poor challenge by S.Saville gave Boro a penalty, luckily for him H.Chaha guessed right and saved the penalty.

November 9th: Parma (H) Europa League Group C (4/6)

We were taught a European lesson by Parma as they completely dominated the game. Nine minutes into the game they broke through our defence and fired towards goal but H.Chaha saved well. On the 23rd minute Parma had another chance as some poor defending by L.Schnitzel saw the attack one on one with H.Chaha who stood firm and saved the effort. Twelve minutes later we had our first effort of the game with a speculative effort from Panpardus but the Parma keeper easily saved the shot

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes at half time with B.Arsenal and S.Stoehr coming on for L.Schnitzel and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. Twelve minutes into the half we conceded the first goal as D.Vantaggiato barged into the defence and fired past the keeper with ease. On the 68th minute they had another chance with a rasping effort which T.Owens blocked before it came close to goal. Six minutes later Parma beat the offside trap and fired a curling effort towards goal but H.Chaha reacted well to block the effort. With a minute remaining in the game Parma killed the tie off as D.Vantaggiato headed in from close range after H.Chaha failed to deal with a simple cross. How we only lost two nil I don’t know

November 12th: Bolton Wanderers (A) (12/46)

The first half was pretty quiet with little in the way of action. The only sort of action was on the 34th minute as Bolton beat our offside trap but L.Schnitzel was on hand to recover and clear the ball away.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made one change at half time with C.Fantu coming on for C.de Bruijn. On the 53rd minute Bolton had their next chance of the game with a rasping effort from outside the area but his effort was tipped round the post by M.Wilson. Just after the hour we had our first chance with J.Scottlee of Hesselink running onto a Panpardus pass but the Bolton keeper sprinted our and cleared the ball. On the 70th minute Bolton took the lead as M.Wilson dropped a simple cross and K.Boyd tapped in from under the crossbar. With ten minutes remaining in the game we grabbed the equaliser as A.Marks fired in a great freekick from the corner of the area after the Bolton defence was adjudged to have handled the ball. On the 87th minute Bolton should have won the game as my defence again went missing but luckily for them M.Wilson made up for his mistake earlier. Deep into injury time we grabbed an unlikely victory as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged into the area and hit a powerful effort past the Bolton keeper

November 15th: Ipswich Town (A) (13/46)

We again struggled to get going and on the 16th minute a poorly timed challenge by G.Spavlachenko saw Ipswich awarded a penalty, S.Cox stepped up for the kick and fired the ball towards goal but M.Wilson guessed right and saved the kick. Seven minutes later Ipswich got the lead they deserved as S.Cox ran in from the wing and fired under M.Wilson. On the 39th minute we came close to losing another goal as Ipswich broke down my defence and fired a powerful effort towards goal but the effort went wide of the post,

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a double change at half time with S.Carl Goatsburg and A.Marks coming on for L.Schnitzel and C.de Bruijn. The second half wasn’t much better and on the 58th minute Ipswich had another chance to score with a curling effort from the by-line but M.Wilson was alert enough to block the effort at his near post. Twelve minutes later we had the chance pull a goal back as G.Bear hit a high ball into the area but F.F.Tikle-Wok failed to connect with the header and the Ipswich defence cleared the ball. On the 74th minute Ipswich killed the game off as M.Wilson beat his name sake with a rasping low effort from just inside the area.

November 22nd: Doncaster Rovers (A) (14/46)

We got back to winning ways as we dominated the home side. On the 22nd minute we opened the scoring as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran through the defence with ease and fired under the Rovers keeper. Four minutes later though I was forced into a change as C.Fantu came on for the injured F.F.Tikle-Wok. On the 34th minute we had another chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink beat the offside trap and fired towards goal but his effort went just wide of the post. With two minutes remaining in the half we grabbed our second goal as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in a C.de Bruijn cross over the Rovers keeper.

Half Time Score 0-2

I made one change at half time with S.Saville coming on for S.Stoehr. Nine minutes into the half we came close to adding another goal with a rasping effort from A.Marks which had the Rovers keeper at full stretch to save. On the 66th minute we made it 3-0 as J.Scottlee of Hesselink grabbed his hattrick with a fine long range effort which gave the Rovers keeper no chance of saving. Ten minutes later we completed the rout as C.Fantu hit a speculative effort from outside the area which the keeper misjudged and it bobbled in off his left boot.

November 25th: Norwich City (H) (15/46)

We started brightly and on the 5th minute we were awarded a penalty after the Norwich defence handled a Panpardus effort, G.Spavlachenko stepped up for the penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way to score. Seven minutes later we grabbed another goal with a great team move started and finished by Panpardus. On the 25th minute we came close to adding another goal as G.Bear threaded the ball through the defence but S.Stoehr failed to finish the move as the ball went just wide of the post. Eight minutes later we grabbed a third goal as J.Scottlee of Hesselink powered into the area and rounded the keeper to slot the ball past the Norwich keeper. With three minutes remaining in the half we were four goals to the good after S.Stoehr was fouled 25 yards out, A.Marks stepped up and curled the ball past the diving City keeper. However the half ended on a sour note as G.Bear was sent off for a second yellow card.

Half Time Score 4-0

I made one change at half time with C.Fantu coming on for C.de Bruijn. The second half was pretty quiet as we didn’t pile forward as much and with Norwich performing pathetically we were never really threatened

November 29th: Millwall (H) (16/46)

We started brightly and on the 6th minute we had the first chance as C.Fantu curled a great effort towards goal but the Millwall keeper saved well to deny us. Ten minutes later we had another chance with a rasping low effort from Panpardus but the keeper again blocked the effort. On the 23rd minute C.Fantu should have scored as he broke through the defence and beat the keeper but somehow managed to fire the ball over the crossbar. Just before the half hour A.Marks was the next player to test the keeper with a thunderous effort from the edge of the area but the keeper was again on top form to block the effort. With five minutes remaining in the half Millwall took the lead as they countered one of our many attacks and B.Hutchinson fired under M.Wilson.

Half Time Score 0-1

Seven minutes into the half we had our next chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran onto a C.Fantu throughball but his effort went well wide of the post. On the 58th minute we were given a clear cut chance to score after Panpardus saw his effort handled in the area for a penalty, A.Marks stepped up for the penalty and fired it towards goal but the Millwall keeper guessed right and saved the effort. Three minutes later I made a change as C.Fantu was replaced by S.Saville. On the 68th minute we finally equalised as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in an A.Marks cross after he made his way down the wing without a single challenge. Eleven minutes later we came close to winning the game but a poor effort by J.Scottlee of Hesselink saw his effort go closer to the corner flag then the goal

Its good to see people still enjoying the story, Pan-your alter ego is playing very well at the moment, lets hope it continues, Tenthree and Ben-Our current form is looking good for a return to the big time. However we must always ensure we keep our feet on the ground and get the results we need however ugly the performance

December 1st: I have been awarded the Manager of the Month Award for November and J.Scottlee of Hesselink has been awarded the Player of the Month

December 2nd: Sheffield Wednesday (A) (17/46)

On the 7th minute we had our first chance of the game as a long ball over the top by G.Spavlachenko was volleyed towards goal by C.Fantu but his effort was tipped round the post by the keeper, from the resulting C.de Bruijn corner J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed wide of the post. Soon after we had another chance as C.Fantu threaded the ball to the feet of Panpardus who lashed his effort wide of the post. On the half hour we were given a great chance to score after Panpardus was hauled down in the area, T.Owens stepped up for the penalty and wasted no time in hitting it past the keeper and into the back of the net. With five minutes remaining in the half though Wednesday grabbed the equaliser as L.Schnitzel fluffed a clearance and M.Saunders fired in past M.Wilson.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made two changes at half time with B.Arsenal and S.Saville coming on for L.Schnitzel and A.Marks. Twelve minutes into the half we were behind as S.McAllister made my defence look amateurish with a great run and M.Wilson stood no chance in his efforts to save the ball. On the 68th minute we had the chance to equalise but Panpardus failed to connect with a C.de Bruijn cross. With seven minutes remaining in the game we had another chance as C.Fantu jinked into the area but before he had the chance to shoot the Wednesday keeper smothered the ball

December 6th: CSKA Moscow (A) Europa League Group C (5/6)

CSKA began brightly and on the 11th minute they took the lead as O.Moussa Maazou fired in from the edge of the area after beating C.de Bruijn to a loose ball. However three minutes later we grabbed the equaliser as T.Owens ran into the area unmarked and header a Panpardus cross past the keeper. On the 26th minute we had another chance with G.Bear beating the offside trap and fired under the CSKA keeper but his effort bobbled just wide of the post. December 9th: Derby County (H) (18/46)

A very close game with both my side and the Derby side managing to create any sort of meaningful chance. The only chance in the first half came on the 41st minute as Derby broke through the defence with ease and fired past M.Wilson but luckily for us the upright managed to save the day.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made two changes at half time with C.Fantu and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for A.Marks and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. On the 57th minute Derby had another chance with a powerful effort from outside the area but M.Wilson was on hand to tip the ball over the crossbar. Eleven minutes late we had our first chance of the game as G.Bear threaded the ball through the defence but F.F.Tikle-Wok failed to connect with the ball. Deep into injury time we were awarded a penalty after S.Stoehr’s long range effort was handled in the area, S.Carl Goatsburg stepped up for the penalty and fired in off the upright to give us all three points in a real dire game

December 12th: Notts County (A) (19/46)

On the 6th minute we opened the scoring as T.Owens managed to divert a Notts County effort past M.Wilson for an own goal. Twelve minutes later we actually had a proper chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged through the defence and fired just wide of the post. On the 27th minute we had another chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink rose above the defence to head a Panpardus cross just side of the post. With a minute remaining in the half we grabbed the equaliser as J.Scottlee of Hesselink finally scored as he broke through the defence and rounded the keeper to slot the ball into the empty net.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change at half time with F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for G.Bear, I also changed the formation to a 4-4-2. Twelve minutes into the half we had our next chance as Panpardus played a great pass to J.Scottlee of Hesselink who lashed the ball wide of the post. On the 67th minute we grabbed the lead as C.de Bruijn ran in from the wing and crossed the ball into the area but the ball screwed off his boot and over the keepers head for a great goal. Soon after County had their next chance with a rasping effort which had M.Wilson at full stretch to save. With three minutes remaining in the game County were awarded a penalty after T.Owens was adjudged to have brought down a County player in the area, J.Fleck stepped up for the penalty and fired it past M.Wilson to give County a share of the points.

December 23rd: Leeds United (A) (21/46)

The midweek trip to France seemed to take its toll as Leeds dominated the game. On the 17th minute they grabbed the lead as J.Howells barged into the area and fired towards goal and G.Burgess let the ball bobble into the net. Ten minutes later they had another chance as the Leeds attack made light work of my defence but luckily for us G.Burgess made up for his earlier error with a great save. On the 34th minute Leeds had yet another chance with a great team move which was thwarted by a brilliant challenge by M.Kowalski. With five minutes remaining in the half we somehow managed to equalise as we countered another Leeds attack and F.F.Tikle-Wok fired in under the keeper.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change at half time with J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for S.Stoehr. Leeds continued to dominate and on the hour they had another chance with a rasping effort from the edge of the area but B.Arsenal managed to divert the ball wide of the post. On the 77th minute Leeds retook the lead as Jeffren beat the offside trap and fired in under G.Burgess. Three minutes later they grabbed another goal with J.Howson firing in a freekick from 25 yards after C.de Bruijn fouled the Leeds attacker. On the 87th minute C.Jerome made it 4-1 as he broke the offside trap and dinked the ball over G.Burgess. Straight from the kick off we pulled a goal back as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged into the area and fired the ball in off the upright. December 26th: Bristol City (H) (22/46)

City started well and on the 9th minute they came close to opening the scoring with a rasping effort from outside the area but B.Arsenal diverted the ball wide of the post,. Ten minutes later they had another chance as with a curling effort which G.Burgess tipped onto the post. On the 25th minute we had the next chance as G.Bear threaded the ball to the feet of F.F.Tikle-Wok who lashed the ball against the upright. With three minutes remaining in the half City took the lead as S.McDonald rose above the defence and headed the ball past G.Burgess. On the stroke of half time City should have grabbed a second goal but G.Burgess bravely smothered the ball at the feet of the keeper.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a couple of changes at half time as M.Wilson came on for G.Burgess who had picked up a knock and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for F.F.Tikle-Wok. The second half was twelve minutes old when we had the chance to equalise as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran through the defence with ease and fired towards goal but the City keeper was on hand to block the effort. On the 72nd minute City came close to doubling their lead with a great team move which had M.Wilson at full stretch to save the ball. With eight minutes remaining in the game we were gifted a penalty after Panpardus's long range effort was handled in the area, M.Kowalski stepped up for the penalty and fired the penalty hard and low past the keeper to give us a share of the points

December 30th: Portsmouth (A) (23/46)

A poor start saw us a goal down within six minutes as M.Breu barged into the area and fired under H.Chaha. On the 9th minute we went a further goal down as J.Garner out-muscled M.Kowalski and slotted in past H.Chaha who was very slow to react. Ten minutes later Portsmouth had another chance with a long range effort but G.Spavlachenko blocked the effort. On the 24th minute it was 3-0 as J.Garner rose above the defence and headed in past the keeper. With eleven minutes remaining in the game we pulled a goal back as F.F.Tikle-Wok hit a speculative effort from just inside the area which beat the Portsmouth keeper with alittle bit too much ease. On the 43rd minute Portsmouth came close to grabbing another goal but M.Kowalski blocked the effort with a diving header which saw him battering the upright.

Half Time Score 3-1

I made a couple of changes at half time with T.Owens coming on for the slightly concussed M.Kowalski and S.Stoehr came on for C.de Bruijn. The second half saw Portsmouth dominating and on the 57th minute they came close to another goal with a thunderous effort which had H.Chaha at full stretch to save. Twelve minutes later they had yet another chance to score as we failed to spot a simple run but G.Spavlachenko again intercepted the effort and cleared the ball. We just never got near the ball and on the 85th minute Portsmouth added goal number four with a simple tap in after T.Owens poor clearance was fired past under H.Chaha by D.Pudil.
