rancer890
Thanks for the updated list Quackje. Two games left in the HK Third Division season, and mathematically 9 teams can still win the title. Another piece of good news is that my remaining 2 games are at home, so I'll have to win both for any chance at the playoffs.

We made an excellent start to the season yet again but couldn't keep up enough form to challenge Paxtakor they are just to dominant here in Uzbekistan at the moment they went the whole season without a loss compare that to out 5 losses and you can see the difference. Quackje
I'm totally raging at the ~*@¬! olympics, the qualifying games coincide EXACTLY with every single champions league match so I'm down 4 players for every single one. None of the Iraqi u23 internationals are what I would say are key players in my squad but it basically leaves with no options at all and I have to field a very rigid lineup and hope for no injuries because there just is no cover! Quackje
I seem to be scraping wins but I just feel so powerless, like the first 11 had better win it cause I can't make any sort of change in the attacking 1/3 I only have defenders on the bench. Quackje
Mosul 2015/16 I'm pleased to announce that all domestic resistance has subsided, unbeaten all season with this team which actually makes it 51 games undefeated in the league since last years loss was the first game of the season. Despite no depth we didn't get injuries either and so we were able to win the group in champions league. They were kinda dull games actually so I can't be bothered to put up any pics, Al-Wahda (Saudi Arabia) [1:1, 2:1], Esteghlal (Iran) [2:1, 1:2], Bunyodkor (Uzbekistan) [1:0, 1:0]. This set up a second round tie with Al-Wakra (Qatar) which was actually rather simple despite still missing players through internationals. No idea who I get next but I hope its some east asians and not Al-Ittihad, they're packed with terrifying players. They got better things to do than to play amateur football... Nice work defying the odds to win your ACL group. There's actually some recent young newgens that I signed that won't look out of place in the Second Division. I'm going to my wage budget though. I'm certain to lose more money and maybe even go in debt soon. Just got South China as a parent club. Time to loan their players to survive this season. rancer890
Just signed my first foreigner, Carlao. He was already in Hong Kong, so I didn't need to trial him to sign him. And another one joining the club soon. He's Canadian. I did follow rules by trialing him. EDIT: I am just speechless by this result... EDIT2: I've switched to a 5-4-1 formation. We're one of the weakest teams in the league, and I'm just hoping to scrape for some points and hopefully survive. I'm in relegation territory right now though. rancer890
Not very good? Still haven't won a game yet. The closest I've been is around 85 minutes to getting a win and then the other scoring a goal and we salvage a draw. I have also signed another foreigner (a Chinese GK) to bring the number of foreigners at the club to 3, which is the max for the Second Division if I get relegated...Chinese players only take 2 years to get HK citizenship so I'll be signing a few of them to get as many naturalized players as I can. Quackje
Mosul The first to fall were Frontale of Japan with the supersub doing the damage again away and the job was finished off with a 2:1 victory at home to set up a semi final date with Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia. We drew 1:1 at home and then it was Ridha again late in the game away from home and forcing the own goal in extra time to win 2:1. The final saw us play Melbourne Victory who beat the best team in asia Al-Ittihad in the other semi final so really this was a bit easier that the semi final. I thought I would take in normal time before a late equaliser but then a defensive and goalkeeping error where they allowed the ball to bounce twice before Ridha again headed it over the keeper to win the champions league. We then faced the host team AS Douanes of Senegal in the club world championship, I found it hilarious how them as the away team packed out the corner of the stand and watched the goals fly in from all angles as we won 6:0. In fine spirits we faced AC Milan and got off to a cracked when Hamada fired home from long range but I think we just annoyed Pato and things went badly. New York then showed us how to steal a game properly in the 3rd place playoff with 2 total flukes like this shot from Garner to the top corner. Still we somehow managed a clean sweep of the best player award. I think this will probably be the end of Mosul, Its just a bit ridiculous having to go back through the confederations cup again for a possible shot at champions league and then club world championship maybe. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have it on a two year and only if you're very very good cycle. Quackje
Well I don't know but it'll be two years at least before I get another shot and really I still feel I'm massively behind in terms of quality. Raware
Tough luck in HK rancer, it's a big step up to the 1st Division. With the foreigner rule being so lenient allowing the top clubs to have more foreign players, it always seems unfair to me. It makes me wonder how the smaller teams are ever able to compete. Orellano
Rancer, a big thumb-up for your support in Asian football. I wish I have read this post a little bit earlier so I could have joined the challenge. My team Double Flower is a team participating in Hong Kong 2nd Div initially. I don't know if you considering it as a cheat, but I invited clubs for friendly league and got loads of cash before the promotion. In the second season I had a wage budget of 40K pound and I used it to sign a dozen of top-tier local players and a few African internationals. This allows me to get the league champion in 1 year. My long term plan will be leading my club to be competitive in Asian level, establishing reputation, generating better youngsters, and finally the world cup. I don't know how long it takes but I hope I can achieve it before FM2011 comes out. Since I haven't started the game with all Asian League, instead, just Japan, Korea, and China, I am not going to join the challenge. But I am giving my best support to all participants, and I hope I can share some good news about my team in the near future.
rancer890
Welcome to the forums Orellano and thanks. Asian football has gone a long way since the inception of the Champions League, and it will only get better once the clubs have access to better coaches and facilities. I wouldn't say it's a cheat unless you're arranging these friendlies every 3 days. I have my own plan to organize some friendly leagues with the best clubs in Asia and around the world next season. Good luck with your career game.

rancer890
Back in Indonesia then rancer nice season. How's everyones finances looking? I can't remember ever being in positive figures. I was in the black after the board takeover, but lost that money to ground maintenance. I go into the red during league play, but the ACL matches get me back into positive bank balance. From my observations, most Asian clubs bleed out money anyways, except for the big clubs. Usually when you get a few ACL appearances, it'll get better. The only downside this year is that my wage budget is lower (since I have less money than last year). I really hope to make some consistent profit this season, and even open to selling a foreigner, but no one is interested in them...

rancer890
Nice season brettney. The gap to 1st is closing. Anyways, I created a couple friendly leagues. Here are the results: The China-Indo League, made up of Indonesian Super League club Perispura, and Chinese Super League clubs Beijing and Guangzhou. As you can see, we won that league. Although I didn't get as much money as I wanted. Attendance was around 3000 per match. The other league I created, the Americas and Europe League, had more prestigious opponents: Brazilian side Gremio, and two worldwide known clubs: Chelsea and Manchester United. Game 1: vs Gremio - W 1-0 Game 2: vs Chelsea - W 3-1 Game 3: vs Man Utd - L 1-4 These results meant we finished in 2nd, about 2 places higher than I thought we would finish, scoring 5 more goals than I thought, and also conceding 1 million less than I thought. Hopefully these results are a good sign of things to come for the season and the ACL. And welcome dj clark boy and good luck in Uzbekistan. The friendly league matches also raised $2 million for the club. Next year it's Bayern, PSV, Everton in one league and Liverpool, Villarreal, and Inter in the other. Good job beating Chelsea Rancer I had been playing friendlies with South American Clubs. The most memorable victory might be my half Reserve Team beating Corinthians in penalty after 2-2 in 120 minutes, while they lost 0-8 to River one week earlier. Would you post the attributes of Setiawan, who got the hattrick in the game? The Gunners should consider buying him and they might have snatched a draw last Sunday. My Indonesian colleague told me today that several small clubs there are suffering from financial problems. They spent too much money on traveling for away games since Indonesia consists of too many islands. I wonder whether FM reflected that? Say an extra cost of 3000 for every away game? Here's Setiawan from my last end of season update. I hope he doesn't catch the eye of some scouts in Europe. He is my best player, albeit a bit inconsistent at times. In FM, there's currently no travel costs in the game, so no, the clubs aren't losing money because of travel. It might be ground maintenance, since I think other clubs might be spending $1 million + to keep the pitch in decent condition. In the ACL Quarter-final, I face Saudi side Al-Ittihad, first leg away, second leg at home. If I make it to the Semi-final, I'll be up against Iranian club Persepolis or UAE club Al-Ain. These teams are very tough, and I hope I don't embarrass myself on the pitch against the Saudi team.

That $1 million might have spent to repair the aftermath of earthquake and typhoons. Indonesia just has all sorts of natural disasters, tough for anybody who invests on teams. Persepolis is stronger imo since Iranians are better than Emiraties on average. Good luck and bring glory to us!
Orellano
Can't believe now HK's world ranking has dropped to 201st. Kim's manager position is still very safe, which I might need to get rid of him in some other way... But I will wait for another year since I still haven't got much good players from the U18s, no difference whether me or him managing. I will post some screenshots after current season is over and if I manage to upload them with this dial-up network.
Quackje
Isn't 2nd good enough for continental competions in Uzbekistan, I'm sure I always saw multiple Uzbek sides in the champions league.

It says 2nd qualify for ACL in the league rules but its the cup winners that get the 2nd spot unfortunately for me.
