  1. Hi Dickie, Wolf_pd, Editors Hideaway moderator here. From an editor point of view there is not really a 24.2 version. There is only a version of 24.0 that has been updated untill 24.3 come out. That version you could consider as a 24.2. Going back to a previous database or game version is not possible in an official way I can advice on.

  2. You have extincted each team in Gibraltar. However, teams from Gibraltar will have qualified for the Champions League. That room is filled up by (likely) either Chelsea or Juventus.

Best way to fix this is to go to the European Cups and replace the Gibraltar team with one of your competition

As you can see in the screenshot Lincoln Red Imps FC does not have a nation set. That means the game will randomly on reputation pick another team to fill that gap. The same issue happens in the Europa Conference League.

I think this is just how the game is programmed. For example, Arteta in the PGE has 30.6.2023 as contract expiry date but since some start dates are just before that, he could leave arsenal early on the playthrough which would ruin it for some people. And this is the case for 46k+ people in the database(expiry date between 1.1.2023 and 30.6.2023

But I just checked with Sweden and England loaded with start date set as 27.3.2023 and Arteta has expirey date set as 30.6.2023. So if you go further back it should work OR if you move his contract expiry date further ahead(about 3 months, but didn't test more so it could be less) with maybe a ban on the player so he doesn't play any games.

I obviously don't know what you want to do with the player, but this is the only help I provide.

Sounds like a valid explanation to me. You wouldn't to see a team suddenly without a manager or player, because the database hasn't been updated yet with the latest contract negotations.

Sorry how do I do that again

Close the editor if it is open
    Go to
    C:\Users\YourComputer\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Editor 2024
Delete the folder Caches and Preferences. Sometimes only Caches is needed.

    Restart the editor.
You might have to change some settings back to your preferences.

In theory though wouldnt moving the Canadian mls clubs out of the mls fix that so all the Canadian qualification spots stay in the Canada system, but it still breaks when I do that

If you create new Canada rules you will break the existing line anyway, so moving the Canadian MLS out of the MLS only doesn't change it.

You would have to remark the whole combination of competitions (which is a pain, I have done it for various projects).

Okay, after few research, I've find. In the pré-game editor, the save don't go in the game but in a file on the editor.

What is the filepath you have put?

It is expected to be saved in C:\Users\Computername\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\editor data

    and NOT in C:\Users\Computername\Documents\Sports Interactive\Editor 2024

On occassion people get these mixed up.

Implementing non-EU rules to non-EU countries is broken, the country's own domestics will be counted as non-EU (even if set as "non-EU" to themselves, included in a new "agreement" that is non-EU to themselves, etc). It appears to be contemplated that it should work, allowing custom stuff like Roy Race is envisioning or the old "1 extra Arab player" rule in Qatar or the OFC player slot in New Zealand, but is glitched

Likely why they had to hard-code stuff like the extra Asian rule, extra Chinese diaspora, etc

I understand, but I wonder whether this means that the rules have been 'fixed' and set more strictly so they don't work outside their jurisdiction and we were previously able to make use of the gaps that were there.

I wish we could create our own rules like Rob Race 9 proposed one.

  8. One possible issue is that setting new Canada rules makes the Canada Cup where the MLS and CPL and some more teams play for Concacaf CL qualification break, which in turn breaks the Concacaf CL. The World Cup does have something similar, which for the World Cup is not a bug. It's just that the continuity of the competition rules from one competition to another gets broken.

Here it is with a "youth cup" ("U19 Cup" in the advanced rules). I've taken the default US rules and simply added a cup to demonstrate - the group games should be occurring 1 day after another, but are forced into 2-day windows. Uploaded to the cloud:

    CLASHDATESBUG.fmf

    CLASHDATESBUG.fm

After that, there's a 3-day gap between the knockout fixtures, which are supposed to occur in subsequent days. You'd suspect this may be down to the whole schedule being thrown off by the group delay, but I've seen it elsewhere even when it starts on time.

    @Zachary Whyte @Wolf_pd

I am not sure if the file was added correctly. I don't seem to be able to download it.

I completely uninstalled the game along with the Pre-Game Editor, deleting everything that was in App Data and everything that was in Documents... I reinstalled both and it resolved, so before installing the Pre-Game Editor I noticed that it was updated Icon his... I can't say, but I think they updated the Pre-Game Editor...

See the post above by Zachary.

Unfortunately due to the Windows Store pre-game editor update and the Game update not being synched, there was a period that the editor had issues. This should be fixed.

    Thanks for this

but the issue as I report cant be fixed?

I do not want to add England back into EU[I want to add Wales/Scotland/N Ireland] but I do want to impose restrictions on England not being able to sign more than 1 non EU player per season

if I attempt this English players are shown as foreign[non EU]

If a caveat could be added to exclude England as per something like this

    with the foreign players rule

so add Non-EU Players except England[UK]

    image.thumb.png.0f96c8ffb217eef283c93e3eb60efc1e.png

then I believe this could be achievable?

The problem with the EU-player rules is I think that they are coded in such a way that they look 'from the inside out' which means they only really work well when England or any other nation you used them on is an EU country.
Your extra proposed rule would work as well, as it would set up an exception  for England.

Another possible option (haven't tested it, but I am thinking out loud here) is to set England as non-foregin, but if that works it's more a brute force way of doing it than anything else. It could also make for some ugly side effects with players being called foreign/not foreign in different competitions.

  12. Hi @Micho21

I did a check in the editor and found that you can look for Nation and Second Nationality both via Nation name and Nationality Name, which means you looked for Gales and the search will find Gales (Wales) and Senegalese. So it is correct, Senegalese is found in this case. Reason that the Secondary Nationality only has Contains and not the Is and Is not option, is because a person can have multiple Secondary Nationalities. Setting Secondary Nationality to = Nation, would exclude any player with more than 1 Secondary Nationality.
