  1. I support Parma and actually went to Italy to go and watch them for the first time a couple of weeks back! was always considering to start a proper thread with information to get people into it, but might be a bit late into the season for that now.. Just a note for anyone looking to start, I think that the OP is using the pre-winter patch, as the team has had quite an overhaul in January, for the better. Cannini, Bennassi, Melandri, Evacuo have all left, and Serie B players Iacaponi (RB), Scozzarella (CM), Fratali (GK), Gianni Munari (CM), Valerio Di Cesare (CB), amongst others have come in, and are all pretty much your best players in the squad. Great save, I am enjoying it immensely, and if you don't finish top you get put into a 30 team playoff, with only 1 winner, which makes things interesting! Also be cool to bring in previous players as you work your way up (Paletta, Paloschi, Giovinco etc.)
  2. For those who have gone further than the first season, roughly what budgets do you get in the second season?
  3. Need to post a proper update, but really enjoying this save so far, although in early stages! Have invested the transfer budget into some promising players like Sebastian Haller and Ravel Morrison! Also bought a load of youth prospects... Just a question for those who have got further than the first season, does the large money continue? Also, is it reasonably easy to obtain some of the good French youth prospects e.g. Monaco prospects Mbappe, Allan Saint Maxim, Moussa Dembele etc.?
  4. Nice! Is that a permanent offer for Tuenzebe then? Glad that they are good enough for the team though, love following the premier league youths and blooding them in.
  5. Looking to start a save with Fulham alongside my United save, as they are my original local team, and been to watch some legendary games at the Cottage. Any ideas on any loans in the first season who are good enough for first team/regular game time? Are players like Tuenzebe, Fosu Mensah etc. good enough?
  6. I've just started a save with Marseille, but it says that Margarita is still the chairman and wages are only £8m transfer and £0 wage??
  7. Could anyone get some photos of the United youth currently tearing up the U18s? Specifically Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, DJ Buffonge, and Indy Boonen?
  8. Started a game with Real Oviedo after reading up about their wonderful story and having ex players such as Cazorla, Michu, and Mata. Was surprised to see all but one of the players in the first team are Spanish, very unique! Anyway, managed to get Barca as a parent club and got Sandro on loan for free. He got a goal on his debut, although conceding one, then giving away a stupid pen with a handball made me lose my first game 2-1.
  9. Bit of an odd request here, but I've recently jumped on the Man United youth hype train, and was looking for a team who might have the funds/reputation to get players like Andreas Pereira, Januzaj, Fosu-Mensah, Borthwick-Jackson, Rashford etc.? As I've got a United save going, but all those players benefit more from loans, and I'd love to give them starts!
  10. Okay, thanks guys, guess its a shame, but as long as I pick a team with quite reasonable finances, I should be okay as long as I don't get too reckless with my finances during the season. Mainly due to thinking of starting with Fulham, but due to the embargo, if you manage promotion in the first season things could be interesting if you get a good amount of money to play around with...
  11. Yeah, thats understandable, but in general, considering no takeovers, and not taking into account player sales etc. there must be a general 'health' of finances which would indicate if a team would get a larger budget or very little etc. Fulhams finances are listed as Rich originally, so just wondering if this could mean they would get a reasonable budget? And teams with debt or Okay finances might not do?
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows how much each of the teams in the championship get when they get promotion to the premier league? More specifically Fulham and Brighton, although any other teams who get a sizable budget would be great aswell.
  13. Thinking about starting a Brighton save tonight, after a failed QPR save, looking for a team who I can get promoted with in the first season, and they seem like quite a good fit. I always play with a lone striker, normally the 4-3-3 formation, just wondering how James Wilson is on the game? As I'm a United fan, I'd love to make him my starting striker! Also, how are the finances? Do you know what budget you get if you get promoted in the first season? Lastly, any word on which promising youth there are? As far as I know, Walton and James Harper could become quite good players?
  14. Recently finished a season with QPR, made it to the playoffs and lost in the semi final, and since the finances are in turmoil I lost all motivation to continue with it. Looking for a championship team who have quite a good chance of getting promoted? I do have a bit of a soft spot for Fulham, although not sure with their squad and the season embargo if they'd be able to get a promotion spot that easily? Although they do have 3 of the best strikers in the league which could work for them I guess... Otherwise, I'm guessing Hull are fairly nailed on seeing as they have quite a few premier league standard players? Any ideas on Brighton, as Wilson seems to be a beast!
  15. Well I think if anything I will be starting over, at least giving me another shot to get it right at qualifying for the CL, and I suppose I could just quickly re-sign everyone I had on this save. The main problem seems to be getting a scoring striker, with Love, Traore and Carillo all being fairly unspectacular. I tried for Remy, even on loan, but I don't have the wages for him! I probably also need at least one solid defender too, as Carvalho's legs seem gone, and Wallace/Raggi seem quite average. Anyone have advice on tactics? With this save, I had two formations set up, one for home/easier matches with a 4-2-3-1, with TIs being dribble less, play out of defence, and retain possesion, while my other tactic was a 4-3-3 counter with just Dribble Less activated.
  16. That excitement didn't last long.. After having a very promising start, bringing in Paul Clement as my assistant, Phil Cannon as my head of youth and a load of youth contracts who have high potential, I just can't seem to get the team to play. First, I went out of the CL losing both legs to Rapid Vienna in the playoff, but accepted it, then I ended up winning the first leg of the Europa playoff against Rijeka a great 3-1, then losing 2-0 at theirs, with their keeper playing a blinder and not able to score a single goal even though I threw everyone forward and went all out attack. It really feels like you're destined to lose sometimes, as I originally quit a Monaco save a few months ago due to the same thing happening with the team being hopeless.. So I rage quit after the Europa loss, as in the end I wouldn't have the motivation to play a season with them with no European football at all, so I can rather continue at that Europa stage again, although I might always feel cheated, or start again, but I put a lot of time into infrastructure and youth signings....
  17. Back in this thread after a while, was originally going for a Marseille save but lost interest fairly quickly. Another team which has piqued my interest is Monaco, who just seem to be wonderkid central on FM16 (Think they have around 30-40 youngsters with 4-5 star potential!!), with some interesting prospects to possibly follow in real life (Lemar, Mbappe, Bernardo Silva). They also seem to have the money and the infrastructure to become a real force in 1-2 years time, and being the second strongest team in the league, should give me enough quality to be able to give the promising youth a chance. Obviously you have the challenge of trying to topple PSG, but along with this I will be trying to harbour the best French talent from teams like Lyon, Marseille, Rennais etc. Also had a bit of a soft spot for them since they've previously had our Martial and Evra, along with Henry and Trezeguet. Anyway, updates to come when I get home, should be a very exciting project!
  18. I forgot mention Southampton are out of the hat. Although they seem quite a perfect fit, I am currently living in Portsmouth so can't stand Southampton Had a save with Valencia a couple of months ago, made it through one season although it all fell apart and ended up finishing 8th after challenging for CL places, bought in a bunch of random youngsters, but as it felt like I went backwards dropping out of Europe I just lost desire for it and quit. In all fairness, Newcastle in theory should fit the bill. They've got quite a decent first team which is also fairly young, and some great prospects out on loan and in the ranks, although I just can't stand their owner, and isn't Mike Ashley quite tight with funds? How about teams in Europe who are looking for new owners, that could possibly work out for funds?
  19. Looking for a mid table-ish team with a need for a bit of rebuilding, but having a reasonable youth set up and getting quite a good transfer budget to build with at least after the first season.
  20. Admittedly I have only been watching highlights of Swansea so far this season, but Paloschi looks like hes adapting very well, very strong for his size, and he seems to have a knack of being in the right place at the right time, a proper poacher! He's had a fair few chances already, and I think its just a matter of time before he starts banging them in, doesn't rely on pace particularly either so should improve as the years go by. Anyway, I might get started with a Swansea save, as my admiration for Paloschi is motivating me haha, along with fond memories of a great Swansea save I had the year after they won the Capital Cup, when they were in the Europa. I quite like bringing youth through, which Swansea seems to have plenty of, and they seem to have the finances to bring in some more promising prospects.
  21. How is the team looking in general on the update? Any large changes? Have been strongly considering starting up a save with them since I've started following them since they got Paloschi and Guidolin (I'm a big follower of Parma and Paloschi was one of the players who got me interested in them in the first place, when Guidolin was in charge!)
  22. I have been meaning to play a save with Roma, as since the update they now have 2 of my favourite players in El Sha and Salah (Due to half of me being of Egyptian heritage ), just been finding it a tad hard due to my allegiances with Juventus But I think I will get cracking with them, as they seem like a real good project team and definitely have the potential location and stature wise to become a massive team, and probably have one of the most interesting overall teams with legends like De Rossi and Totti, loads of promising loanees you'll need to try and find funds to keep, and due to his performances at Gijon, Sanabria seems to have got a hefty boost and can definitely make an impact when he's back from loan! Just a shame that Sadiq Umar isn't rated very highly CA wise on the update, seemed to be the real deal when he's played this season. Also, Ezequiel Ponce is on £27,000 a week on the game. Surely that can't be right for a youth prospect?
  23. Very interesting, I'm guessing there is the possibility of doing the same with Coman if Bayern try to come in for him? Although he might not be willing to get into talks as he is already at Bayern instead... Interesting nontheless and useful, as I would get quite demotivated with my save if a player I love is poached off me beyond my will.
  24. Just started up a Marseille game and didn't get too far into it pre-patch, but fairly sure that George Kevin N'Koudou has been given a reasonable CA boost, and now has the potential to be one of the best wingers at the club, and rightfully so after his performances this season too.
