For the casual person who’s not that invested in football, catching some of the Serbia/Swiss game would be more entertaining than Brazil game, especially when on ITV1 or ITV4. Also, BBC is annoyingly not a click of a button up. They’re still stuck in the dark ages where it’s 115 on sky.

They’ve been bad all tournament for not showing replays of stuff, either all together or like 5+ minutes later. People talk about viewing experience, whilst entertainment has been great, the viewing in this tournament has been awful. Imagine if this was the standard in Prem, be a meltdown non stop in the match threads

It does change the dynamic quite a bit the 3 going through. For example, Spain would’ve 100% been through after 2 games because of GD, so could rest the whole XI and not care even more if they wanted to. Does still give sides that going into final game some hope of going through, as 3 points will be enough on some occasions if GD is horrendous. Costa Rica when it got to 2-2, then wouldn’t for example had to then push on more, they could go back to sitting back (even though it made no difference, they was actually better when they stopped trying to park the bus ) I thought I wouldn’t be a fan of three going through when it came to Euros, but I like it, and mixes things up for knockout rounds too as a result.

Looking at the calendar, I assume at the moment the World Cup would start like Friday 12th June, UCL final probably be on like 30th May and the two weeks in-between internationals. Get European leagues to condense the league ever so slightly so UCL is held on May 23, and have first World Cup game on Friday 5th June and final on Sunday 12th July. Just over 5 weeks, more than enough time IMO. International sides can then decide if they want to squeeze in pointless friendlies in the gap between, or realise from this World Cup it’s not needed and just have the group together for like 7-10 days before their first game.

Huh? Their tempo from word go was high. Should’ve been 3-0 up after 10 minutes. 2nd half started off poorly, assume with mindset of we’re not getting 7 goals now.
