  1. Yep, both excellent and the same spec aside from the graphics card. I'd go for the Lenovo as it has the better graphics card.
  2. If they're on a contract with an end date, when that date comes they'll either stay on non-contract terms or leave. I'm not sure you'll know which one will happen until that day arrives in-game.
  3. Even when on non-contract terms, that player's appearance fee will count towards the wage budget. If you have a non-contract player, their appearance fee will be calculated in the wage budget, but not the whole amount. This isn't exact as I'm working from memory, but I think it counts somewhere between 30 to 40% of the appeance fee towards the wage budget, so for the purposes of giving an example, a non-contract player with a £100 appearance fee would take up something like £40 of the wage budget.
  4. I've seen that before, although I've not encountered it in FM24 yet. Not sure if there's ever been a fix for it because last I heard SI hadn't been able to work out what causes it when it does happen.
  5. It'll run the game and will be ok for 2D, however I'm not sure how good that screen resolution will be for FM. Is it refurbished rather than brand new? If so, I'm sure there will be better than that for the money.
  6. It'll run if it's MacOS 11 or later, it just won't be very quick and you'll need to turn the graphics settings down. Also I suspect it'll suffer further when FM25 comes out with the increased system requirements.
  7. They'll need to be running MacOS 11 or later. To be completely honest, if it's an Intel based Macbook I'd probably avoid them. If it's the M1 CPU, those seem to be decent.
  8. Newcastle finished 4th last season and the club has spent a lot of money. I loaded up a new save with Newcastle to see what their expectations are, and qualifying for the Champions League shows as "Required" for the club vision. I don't consider this an unrealistic sacking within the realms of FM given the board objectives.
  9. 1. Yes, but not necessarily at the highest settings. However, we don't know what the system requirements will be for FM25, only that they will increase, so we're currently making the assumption that it's best to consider a dedicated graphics card. 2. 8GB at an absolute minimum, but really 16GB or more is ideal.
  10. Both CPU's score fairly closely, so I think you'd see similar processing times with both. It is honestly a situation where you can't really go wrong with either of those two.
  11. It appears to be this one: https://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-ideapad-3-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-156in-full-hd-laptop-arctic-grey/1600944335.prd Would be OK for FM24, hard to say how it'll be with FM25 and beyond though without a dedicated graphics card.
  12. Ok, the game will run if you're on MacOS 11 or later. However, in terms of how the game runs I don't imagine it'd be too quick and it probably won't handle the 3D graphics too well. You'd definitely get a better experience if you're able to upgrade to a newer computer, but you will at least be able to play the game if you don't mind slower processing and lower 3D graphics settings. On the plus side, FM24's processing is the quickest in the series to date, so that will at least help a bit on that score.
  13. This looks a good deal: https://www.amazon.de/TOPGRO-i9-12900H-Windows-USB-Cx1-Schwarz/dp/B0CHF393HR/ref=sr_1_16_sspa?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=3PC4CZXV7JGC5&keywords=Gaming+PC&psr=EY17&qid=1700765185&s=black-friday&sprefix=gaming+pc%2Cblack-friday%2C77&sr=1-16-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1&m=A1UY81QLBS5OKW&SPES=1
  14. Not really, unless you're playing things like shooting games competitively in which case you'd want a higher refresh rate. For FM, 60Hz is absolutely fine. And for almost everything else gaming-wise as well.
  15. That would be fine, and personally when it comes to Antivirus I just use the in-built Windows Defender and haven't had any issues.
  16. Good job I like you, otherwise I'd post videos of all the wonder goals Le Tissier scored against Newcastle back in the 90s..... and I'd have quite a few to post!
  17. I was tempted to replace their logo with the turd emoji.
  18. The CPU is a little better, but the graphics card is quite a lot weaker. Given we don't really know what kind of spec FM25 will need for max graphics settings yet, I'd still be more inclined to go with the one at Currys because of the better graphics card.
  19. Nope - I had 5 seasons at Haverfordwest on FM22. Was never able to get past TNS or Connah's Quay. Was able to consistently finish 3rd, but that was the limit. TNS and Connah's Quay have a massive advantage as the only fully Professional teams in the league. Trying to topple Professional clubs as a Semi-Pro outfit is always going to be a tall order. Add into that TNS get Champions League money, which is huge in comparison to what other clubs in the Cymru Premier get even if they don't make it past the qualifying rounds, so they always have a significant economical advantage over other clubs which only grows every season. If you are going to topple TNS though, Connah's Quay are going to be your best shot of doing it. Edit: I'm wrong, Connah's Quay are also Semi-Pro. I had it in my head they were fully Professional when I played in Wales on FM22, but that could be me misremembering perhaps. The real mickey take of the whole thing though is that TNS isn't actually a Welsh club, they're actually based in England. Although I am aware they were originally based in Wales, they just happened to stay within the Welsh system after the move to Oswestry.
