  1. Yes team-talks are entirely optional as always (incidentally if you leave them on and just 'continue' through them then they do the neutral one which is exactly what occurs when they're turned off btw - the idea is that they shouldn't be intensive at all because you only really need to do them if you have a strong feeling about what you're seeing on the pitch really and want to praise or abuse the team or an individual).
  2. That shouldn't restrict you as you're allowed two devices active at a time on a standard plan I believe - so she can watch TV while you game or vice versa etc. "Netflix allows different numbers of simultaneous streams depending on the plan. On both versions of the standard plans, you can have up to two devices streaming at the same time. This goes up to four simultaneous connections on the Premium plan." NetFlix help
  3. There won't be any in-app purchases on FMM24 - instead some items will be available from the get go and others will be purely unlockable within the game via. gameplay. So for example the editor is free and available from the get-go, as is national team management.
  4. For obvious reasons I'm not going to comment upon a lot of things on this thread - however with regards to the 'badge or two' comment which I presume refers to the manger 'title' feature - this is far more than that in the game. The best way of describing it is the game responding to your playing style and the people within it (managers, coaches, players etc.) recognizing that and reacting accordingly. So for instance if you're particularly disgruntled in your team-talks on a continued basis you might pick up the 'Hair Dryer' title where your reputation proceeds you for being aggressive with your players and staff. This can be both a positive and negative in the game - it'll motivate some players and some will love your enthusiasm and determination to win, others though might wilt in the fire and want to leave (or avoid joining) your club ... all the titles have similar effects based upon what was considered realistic for them, very few are 'purely positive' or 'purely negative' and each causes effects based on similar things in the real-world. So for example if you get a reputation as a 'Relegation Specialistic' (ie. someone who helps small teams avoid relegation) then that sort of club will want to hire you and players will have faith that you can do well in those circumstances ... but it might actually work against you and larger clubs ignore you because you're associated with struggling clubs etc. (this feature follows my usual approach of a feature not having to be 'big and flashy' - but instead aiming to add depth and hopefully make the game more enjoyable for users without slowing down the gameplay)
  5. The game is something that evolves rather than radically changes - this is intentional tbh and unlikely to ever change, people seem to enjoy the game and it is better to evolve and evolve and improve it (while listening to feedback/reviews) - than to suddenly radically change it in a manner which might alienate people ... I do understand the alure of 'new and funky' styling or approaches to people, but the game being playable and enjoyable is first and foremost in my mind when we design and improve it.
  6. It'll be available from the start (although tbh 'exclusive to FMFC members' just meant you had to sign up for FMFC which wasn't particularly hard work imho ).
  7. I'm afraid the specific leagues which are in the game (and the cost of licenses) isn't something I'm involved in - often such things are partially determined by interest/user base in a specific region and that regions interest to people in other areas, my hope is one day we'll have every league in the world in the game ... but that might be a while in the future PS - It might interest some people to know that as well as the announced features there will (as usual) be a number of other enhancements present such goal droughts (and related media/effects), the expansion of the game database size (and more national teams manageable because of it) and the optimization of the game engine to make it even faster - these aren't 'exciting' but will help make the game more enjoyable for a people
  8. In what manner? - speaking from a developers perspective I think they're solid and appealing, they enhance play and make things more engaging and interesting while also easier to use. I realize they might not be everyones cup of tea, but I think your reaction might possibly be slightly biased by the negative reaction you had to the games move to Netflix rather than the features themselves? (one of the things which is vital with FMM imho is to not 'bog' the game down with things which slow its gameplay and make it more 'tedious' to play, for this reason features are designed specifically not to impede on such things and rather to enhance peoples enjoyment rather than add features for the sake of 'new' features) PS - There are also a number of things not mentioned in the feature announcement as per usual, for instance some more 'hardcore' players will be happy to hear that the number of players in the active game database has been increased by a fair amount specifically aimed at making more national teams available to be managed.
  9. I have indeed pressed a button, letters appeared which turned into words when I pressed other buttons ... (apparently these buttons are on a thing called a 'keyboard' according to my long suffering wife ) Sorry I'll get my coat ..
  10. There are a number of reasons - normally involving the reports coming from different staff who have slightly different opinions - but I'd be interested in taking a look and check ot be sure. I'm surpriced their wages didn't go up more - but if they were signed as youngsters they'll probably be fairly patient until they feature in the first team as irl tbh. I'm always looking at improving the visual highlights - there is always a hard balance to make between making the highlights feel 'complete' and slowing down the game and making matches drag out, sometimes I get it wrong (sorry).
  11. Glad you're enjoying it - when I first made it the intent was to make it play similarly to our earlier games so that's great to hear Star Ratings for youngsters will be a LOT more volatile than for older players generally - this is simply because peoples opinion of them can vary hugely based on recent performances, a hot kid coming through can end up stiffing for a few games and being discarded as I'm sure you're well aware ... as they play more and mature your coaches will give a more reliable rating, until they do its up to you as manager to decide (err otherwise the games really just playing itself ). The third rating is that of the player mentioned in the text to give you a comparison against the current player - eg. For Dunk in my game it says "Dunk is marginally better thann our next strongest central defender Joel Veltman." and shows 3.5* (which is arguably a bug because every Brighton fan knows Dunk is a God amongst men and should. always been rated 5* and be stated as 'Ludicrously ignored by the England International Manager far too often." There may well be some difference between the two - but if you have good people in both roles they probably won't be huge differences. (also do bear in mind that outside of 'ability' mental stuff is important - I'd prefer to have a 3* Driven Professional personality goalkeeper than a 5* Erratic one .. so always check out their personalities and such) PS - With regards to the forum, its liveliest around release times for obvious reasons, there are also some 'fan sites' for the game which have forums which are reasonably busy also.
  12. Also the happiness view on the squad page can give you a quick overview of things generally for relationships/happiness/feelings .. standing will tell you how popular someone is within the squad, so if they show up as respected or popular then chances are you shouldn't abuse them too much
  13. Yeah the two are seen as two discrete things - ie. a player can be an important member of the team, but not a great captain in someones opinion (especially likely if the person making the judgement wants to be captain themself ).
  14. The game differentiates between personal and playing relationships - the ones shown on the person information page are personal relationships, the lines indicate where players have good on-pitch relationships with players. So for instance a player might be friends with someone and enjoy socialising with him, but actually be lousy on the pitch playing along-side him, does that make sense to you? (in reverse two players might have very different personalities and not get on off the pitch but work well together on the pitch because they have complimentary playing styles)
  15. It shouldn't do - the game is designed to ensure its playable across as many devices as possible and most iPhones don't have physical buttons now. (I play a fair bit on my iPhone (although my main play device is my iPad Mini), although its a bit old and haggard with a physical home button - I'm expecting I'll have to give in and get a new one finally as its getting a tad eccentric these days and has very limited ability to retain charge ... but its small and convenient so I'm limping along with it presently)
  16. The first time face in the game was run was a long, long time ago ... back in the dim-mists of 2005 when I was young https://www.eurogamer.net/news130804fm2005
  17. Just to mention this is a restriction on how the licences in the game operate rather than a 'decision' the studio makes (ie. in order to have licenced content in the game may be a 'cut-off' after which that product isn't allowed to be on sale*). *If you think about it from the perspective of the leagues etc. it makes sense, ie. they might change their logos or similar and not want the old ones in common circulation years afterward etc.
  18. The 'dots' aren't going anywhere (same thing with text commentary).
  19. The normal reason for a windfall in real-life (and in the game) is where a small club play a big club, ie. a non-league club managing to get through to the third round of the FA Cup and drawing a Premiership club might not get huge 'prize money' from such a tie but do get a cut of the gate which might be more than they'd normally earn in a season - hence the opportunity in the game to get bonus transfer funds sometimes during cup runs to simulate this occuring. As I've also mentioned the quality of the opposition you play also affects how much your players can learn - so playing against a better quality team in the FA Cup can help your players progress in ability more, the same thing is true of players who are playing in Europe or whom might be called up for internationals*. *Please note this doesn't mean their attributes will shoot up immediately in most cases, but it helps them along the way to such growth and might say open their eyes to ways they can improve their game.
  20. It'll keep working without issue, its yours because you bought it
  21. Its based on whether a cup victory is considered a 'giant killing' - so if you get a big name draw and manage to get a result your board might be happy enough to splash some cash at you ... if you're a smaller league club and manage to knock out a Premiership club or even a Championship level club then a small windfall might come your way.
  22. There are various things: (1) If you do well during them then you can get small cash infusions from the board (2) These matches are often against teams better than yours so gives your players more of a chance to learn and improve than they might playing at your normal level (3) Matches in minor cup competitions against minor teams are a great chance to give your backup players experience and help their development.
  23. Be very careful with kids - getting large contracts and success early on can cause some to lose focus and become less hard-working/professional .... mentoring and monitoring their progress is essential imho.
  24. I can't give out features this early for the forthcoming game - but as always you can expect a few new and interesting features along with the continuing evolution of the game as a whole .. please be patient, I'm excited to be able to reveal more, but can't yet ..
