  1. Yeah there are some players who are just 'intense' and want to work intensely ... they can be awkward in that they respond negatively to many nice things you do (ie. giving people time off) ... but equally they're often very talented and motivated individuals who are huge benefits to their sides (Shearer back in the day used to have a reputation for annoying some of his teammates with his drive and dedication in a similar fashion).
  2. There are some items which are only added by specific scout types - I'll try and emphasize this side of things more next version.
  3. To clarify the editor in FMM is purely an 'in game' editor, there isn't a pre-game editor for the game, sorry.
  4. Sorry that happened to you - but glad you figured out the cause (and I can understand it being frustrating).
  5. Firstly I'm glad you're enjoying the game - that is always the most important thing from my perspective Can you chuck me a copy of that save where you're struggling to sell players and I can take a look and see what I think. In reality though many clubs have suffered from this in the past as they fall through the divisions - from a players perspective if they have a fat salary guarenteed for several years why should they accept less to move clubs? (or to put it another way would you take a 50% pay cut to move jobs because your employer was unhappy if you knew they'd keep paying you regardless of your workrate if you remained there). For real-life examples of clubs who have struggled in this manner in the past think about Leeds a decade or so ago, Sunderland etc. ... long-term contracts seem sensible in the short-term, however if a club gets relegated then they have inherent risks to them. (if the wages aren't overly inflated and the players aren't old, and are good enough to play at that level then you might be correct - if as I suspect the players aren't all that great or are on inflated wages or old then I'm afraid its acting as expected and as would be realistic)
  6. Yes all are unlockable however the idea is for each individual to discover how themselves, so I'm afraid its not something I'll post full details about (sorry).
  7. I'm afraid we don't announce release dates for updates because the submissions for updates are done by third-party providers and as such the dates aren't wholly under our control.
  8. Yes, they do both of the above - they also rest players if they start showing wear and tear or sometimes give kids a chance to help their development depending on their managers personality and preferences. Yes, if you watch other clubs as the game progresses their facilities will be developed, so long as they have the cash to do so (same with stadium size). You'll also see things downgraded at clubs if they have poor finances as wear and tear decays a stadium or facilities.
  9. You can before the game is started - if you start with an editor and edit things then it stays unlocked as proof that you have done so.
  10. By all means send in the save game and I can try and ascertain what occurred ..
  11. No it is intentional that the number of coaches in the game are the way they are, this means that there is a finite number of ways you can specialise and it is impossible to have a 'perfect club' - as in real-life there is only so much time available during a week for training and having 100 coaches wouldn't mean the players could all deal with them equally imho ... hence the limitations that have been put in place, if you want to maximize your flexibility then I'd suggest ensuring you unlock the coaching badges for yourself as manager and adding yourself to the roster of coaches, that does allow a little more flexiiblity (oh and CPU teams can poach your coaches, but its fairly rare).
  12. When you go on holiday (which is what I presume you did?) - there is an option in the top section which prevents this - "Do not offer any players new contracts" ... in a similar vein you might want to prevent your assistant making transfer bids etc.
  13. I'm sorry but you can't purchase FM23 any more, sorry (we can only have the games on the store for a specific period due to the licences which are in the game).
  14. It'll trigger on any subsequent wins after the next full update is released (only put the fix in on friday of last week, thanks for mentioning this issue).
  15. Will do after the next update - apologies for any inconvenience.
  16. There are a host of factors going into what the rating are including: Both Club's Reputations Both Club's current form Rough ability of currently fit players (so if you're about to play Man Utd and their goalkeeper is injured then you might be a little more likely to get a result etc.) Whether a club is home or away (and their current support level) How experienced each team is at playing at the current level Morale of both squads (and a few other things I can't recall off the top of my head)
  17. At the moment we display this sort of information for managers: So you can see a rough overview of them - Klopp likes attacking football and it shows his rough preferred formation, the rest you can infer from other information. So his speicalism is determination, he's good at motivating his teams and keeping them going. His discipline score shows he doesn't suffer fools gladly (ie. he won't put up with unprofessional players) and is very good at people management (so handling the media and keeping players happy and positive), he is also great at motivating players and generally loyal and able to handle pressure well. His tactical knowledge is good - but that isn't the strongest area of his game. His 'title' is entertainer - so he wants his teams to play attractive attacking football and score goals more than anything else. (for humans you can see the 'style' your team is playing at both when you setup a tactics template and also on the tactics page as you adjust it - if you think it might help I'll try and remember ot make that aspect visible for other managers so you could look at say a lower league manager and see his team is setup for 'Route One' or whatever ... would that help you?) PS - One of the challenges in making the game and getting the managers feeling right is that while most have a defined style they prefer, they're often pragmatic and will flex somewhat within that. Brighton under De Zerbi for instance are reknowned for playing the ball patiently out from the back, but actually against certain teams (notably Man City) while they do this he also has them setup for playing direct balls down the wings when the opportunity arises which isn't their norm ... as such the tactical approach for managers irl is a lot more flexible than some supporters realize, with some managers changing the style subtly multiple times during a match and De Zerbi especially sometimes flexing between three distinct formations in a single match. The game can (and will) simulate this if you examine your opposition setup, sometimes it is somewhat subtle maybe an opposition player changing his role, otherwise they'll bunker down and change to a very defensive formation with 10 minutes to go and simply try and hang onto a win etc. ... sorry for the long post, I tend to get excited when I talk tactics and how we approach things
  18. That's an interesting idea and I'll suggest it to the people who do the PR for the studio, we've actually had real managers in sporadically to play the game and have had articles in some newspapers and magazines where they've done just this which has been fascinating from a personal perspective. (one of my favorite parts of the job from a 'football geeks' perspective is the opportunity its given me to talk (and mainly listen) to people in and around the game over the years, I feel very fortunately to have been able to do so ... incidentally if you haven't already I'd definitely recommend reading autobiographies and such from players and managers - they're fascinating reads and give some insights into a lot of areas, there are also a number of training courses you can take if you're really interested in such things (not just managerial/coaching - but scouting qualifications etc.) )
  19. Going by the 'work permits' one you mention I'm guessing you mean what gameplay features are unlockable within the game? - if so: Rich Benefactor (used to be called Sugar Daddy) - Its disabled on FMM24 because its instantly available now but will be in earlier versions Wheeler Dealer Place On The Board National Hero- Its disabled on FMM24 because its instantly available now but will be in earlier versions Foerign Policy- Its disabled on FMM24 because its instantly available now but will be in earlier versions Owe You One The Loan Arranger Bronze Coaching Qualifacation Silver Coaching Qualifacation Gold Coaching Qualifacation Moving On Up Super Star If you look on the list of achievements in the game these all have achievements with the titles indicated which explain how to unlock them and what they'll do when unlocked.
  20. The researcher set stats for the managers and the game makes a guess as to the managers preferred style from these, then when we setup the tactics within the game we use the managers preferences combined with the players available to decide how they setup their sides. In the main I think we do a reasonable job - but if people can post discrepancies and what they think managers should be using and what the game indicates they prefer then obviously we'll happily keep tweaking things. With regards to some of these - the problem is more that we don't presently have a descriptor for the style they use eg: Presently we don't have 'descriptors' for styles which are mid/deep blocks so the game will describe their style in a different fashion (but they'll still do the tactical approach as described) ... I'll look at adding in more descriptors in for a future version. (so if there are any you think are missing then please post and let us know and I'll consider adding them in due course, no promises as I want to keep things to those that I think more casual football fans will understand.. but I'll see what can be done)
  21. If you're cheating to artificially give yourself funds, then yes the game will be unrealistic but otherwise having farcical finances within 3 seasons is beyond most people I'd expect (short of taking over Barcelona and selling their first team, then again you'd have to replace them etc.) ... shrugs, so long as the individuals playing enjoy themselves that is the main thing and I'm not about to judge anyone tbh ...
  22. Ok thanks for the information - I'll see if we can recreate this in house, sorry for any inconvenience.
  23. We don't post eta's for updates publicly because they have to go through a submission process internally with our QA and then again with our partner platforms submission processes so the actual release date isn't wholly within our control. All I can say is that we will obviously do a transfer update as well as potentially other updates in the future and will always support our products to the best of our abilities.
  24. If you are having an issue regarding a game purchased via. Steam then I would suggest you contact steam or post in the relevant forum for that product (this is for the Football Manager Mobile game which isn't sold on steam). i'd recommend either the PC bugs or technical support forums?
  25. If you can give more information and post this in the bugs forum then we'll obviously be happy to try and work out the case of your issue. Helpful additional information would be: Operating System used (including version) Phone model Memory on device Any unusual applications/situations for device (ie. is it rooted, do you have any cracking tools on it etc.) Which store did you obtain the app from Are you using your own Netflix account or a shared one from another source Have you installed any unofficial content into the game (some facepacks and such have corrupted data within them which can sometimes cause issues). Anything else you think might be relevant
