  1. Not as if he has dominated the ucl and 2 two world cups but anyway
  2. Ismaila sarr burnt past Walker. Can’t see Walker stopping mbappe. You don’t stop mbappe. England simply have to outscore France. Build up phase was poor against Senegal too.
  3. Don’t mind me just bringing up de bruyne having the highest pa in fm23 is an absolute joke. Mbappe is clearly the best in the world.
  4. Might be the quality of oppo you are facing. I’m in 2050 and leeds have 2 speed demons as strikers who are both world class and they destroy me in the channels occasionally
  5. seems to b a flaw in 2-3-5 shape when the oppo just smashes the ball into channels especially when they have two attack duty strikers. In real life you usually stop this transition, but you occassionally get ripped apart on fm from this
  6. Love this thread but it highlights some of the flaws in this game. If you left a ‘spare man’ against Man City irl they’d rip through your press. Also it’s annoying that you can’t properly press a 433 (unless you play a 343) as full backs can’t press opposition full backs high the pitch whilst you invert wingers to press the cbs and have the amc man mark the DM, so they always have a spare man if you use a front 4 or a front 3.
  7. i mean that was si's response on the defensiv line experiment on fm23 so why not
  8. Pickford hits his long balls off the pitch more regularly than finding a player from it
  9. Southgate genuinely has cv an argument for being the worst manager in the entire tournament at least from a tactical perspective
  10. Eh heatmaps aren’t everything. I watched the game he remained very central
  11. I did a thread on Arteta replication earlier this year as well which you might want to check out: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/564191-guardiola-and-arteta-inspired-4-4-2-strikerless-fm21/
  12. Bringing this up again and people might be right with poacher role. Although i wish take less risks and dribble more wasn’t hard coded. The way Richarlison played yesterday is pretty much what I’m looking for. He didn’t run the channels at all just stayed central
  13. Thanks I think I seen this one before. Odegaard as shadow striker is interesting. It’s definitely the best option to replicate the 442 press, but then he becomes far too aggressive when the teams with the ball. I still haven’t figured out a way to make other amc roles to press consistently to become part of the front 2 unless you play strikerless which brings on a whole load other issues in terms pressing high.
  14. I did show my replication in page 1 of this thread. yes it’s true that the formation does change its pressing shape, but when the other team has settled possession majority of the team it will be a 433 regardless of what roles/instructions you use. imo once you use 433 solely it’s not really that close to a proper replication. In fact the most interesting part for me would be to see if anyone could get a 4411 or 442 working reasonbly well
  15. Haven't seen a single 4411 or 442 which is pretty disappointing considering that's the settled formation of the ball arsenal play at least when playing against back 4s
  16. always find it funny when people complain low blocks don't work on fm. If the the world cup is anything to go by it doesn't work irl either. At least not anymore or without getting pretty lucky
  17. The defensive structure in the 2nd video is impossible on fm. Fullbacks simply don't press that high on fm. It's a massive flaw in the game that full backs don't press fullbacks/
  18. Please add this to the game. It would improve pressing so much and add much more realism. For example vs a 5 at the back, having the front 3 press against the 3 cbs and having the full backs pressing the wingbacks would allow a man to man pressing scheme. At the moment it’s impossible meaning that unless you play a 343 with midfielders as wingbacks you can’t properly press any formation that has 5 players in the build up phase. thanks
  19. Maybe mark specific position but yeah the pressing on this game is limited
  20. Agreed the hard part of an Arteta recreation is replicating the 442 press off the ball. I’ve used shadow striker in the past to get that 442 press and maintain the 235 shape on the ball. Worked will but the shadow striker is too aggressive of a role to replicate what odegaard does. Thats why I think an asymmetric 4231/433 is best way to get a true replication. We don’t really play a 433 like the way it plays out in fm.
  21. Disagree on Jesus being a support role. Sure he drops deep and links the play but he’s still the spearhead and you cant really recreate the number of chances he gets irl in fm if you make him a support role. He’s already missed the most big chances in europe. That can’t be achieved on a support role (at least to my knowledge). I think dlf- attack, cf attack or even pressing forward on attack is suitable.
