Will the wingers actually hug the touchline in the final third in this edition? That’s what makes or breaks this game for me

Still no pep style wingers. Still no ability to have a full back play as a 3rd cb (let alone the stones role) Still no way to adapt your pressing shape to the opposition and tell exactly which player you want to press who. When will any of these be introduced? From a tactical replication point of view the games been the same for years except we have wide centre backs now.

How would you set this up with a ml/mr instead of an aml/amr? Especially since there wouldn’t really be a front 3 as such

Been doing some more testing and imo this is the closest you can get to an arteta/pep way replication whilst getting good results (albeit i am on fm21). It mirrors the off the ball shape of a 442 which arteta and pep often use as their shape off the ball. This is more based on pep tactics before he moved to 3 at the back system with stones in dm (although it can be tweaked to suit this). Wingers stay high (and mostly wide) although not as wide as in a true positional play tactic. Worth tweaking using a fb-d or fb -s with sit narrow/ hold positon to recreate the 3atb if you want a closer replication: Results: Striker stats (Haaland role):

Black newgens having fully straight hair is something I never really noticed until now. It’s a bit strange.

The 3 atb is wonky and pushed towards one side and wingers stil narrow in the final third.

Simple answer is no. Wingers don’t stay high and wide nor does you have the fullback. becoming a third cb properly. Tactical creator is still 10 years behind tactical developments

My replication is fairly similar to yours albeit with some tweaks as i'm still using fm21. Only issue is that the wingers don't stay high and wide and that you can't properly replicate Ben white's role in fm. Both my midfielders also somewhat underperform compared to their ability (both have 196 ca). Would potentially tweak to move my dm to dmcr although he'd be less central in the build up but would prevent teams exploiting me in the half space. What PI's do you use if any?

Interested to see this thread - in my experience it's not really possible unless you change your entire team shape

The left centre back is free in this entire clip and yet none of his team uses him.When the keeper boots it there's very little pressure on the lcb. He also has an overload in the build up phase 6 (+ keeper) v 5. Any team with top players would be able to play out in such a situation.

it's quite literally the only way. I've tested all the roles - only the advanced playmaker stays in the half the space the entire time. others only in the final third

We all know Man city's favourite choreographed attacking move. The winger holds the ball on the touchline, de bruyne runs into the channel, the winger feeds him the pass, de bruyne crosses to the striker or the back post winger and a goal is scored. I'm really struggling to create this movement consistently (although i'm on fm21 so it may be different in newer versions). My tactic is below. Any suggestions to tweak my tactic to replicate this movement?

Game is massively flawed because you can’t properly press 523 unless you match with a 343. Best bet is to create a 3-1-6 of some sort and just hope they don’t play through your press

Have you got a version vs back 5s. Pressing back 5s seems impossible on fm

striker on the left. Doesn't that ruin attacking in the five channels?

It’s not possible on fm I’m afraid. I’ve been trying all year. You can possibly move Ben white to rwb so he presses higher but full backs don’t press full backs on this game. It’s a massive flaw in the match engine. forutnately most teams play 4231 on fm so you can press in a basic 442 shape most of the time

Odegaard and Xhaka are both 8s. It’s a 433 dm wide

@CleonWhat’s the reasoning for using positive instead of balanced mentality? I know you usually use balanced mentality in your tactics even for possession based ones.
