  1. Currently having quite a frustrating experience, in that my team have gone from scoring freely to being suddenly incapable Infront of goal. As you can see I had a pretty free scoring November. Now I'm not silly, I realise this is a very OTT run- I've scored 15 goals across 5 games. Not sustainable, fine. But I've suddenly, out of nowhere swung to this... So I've gone from 15 goals in 5 League games to two goals in my last 6, 3 in 7 if you include the Carabao cup game. What makes it more concerning is one of those is a penalty and one is a free kick. So across 7 games I've scored 1 goal from open play! It seems bizarre to swing from one extreme to another. I get that scoring 3 a game isn't going to go on forever. But over the first 15 games of the season we scored 37 goals, so even in the first 10 games we scored 22 goals so it isn't like that was a totally out there purple patch. We've gone from being one of the best goal scoring teams in the league to the absolute worst for no reason I can fathom.
  2. Very minor UI gripe. Going through my scouting update cards, some have the text in the 'ask agent' box and some don't. This means the buttons to acknowledge and disgard move around, leading to either clicking on nothing or accidentally clicking the discard button when I want to acknowledge. Can be frustrating when you've got nearly 100 to go through.
  3. The version I heard is they sat in stunned silence at the £30k offer as it was double what they were hoping for and the chairman paniced at this reaction and added another £10k. Saying that I've also read that this is a total urban myth.
  4. Only one season of evidence but this is the first time I've had to agree with the 'too easy' complaints. I've won the Championship with Norwich, breaking every record going- 115 points, 120+ goals, without spending a penny. I've never had such success 'out of the box' and this was just a standard 4-2-3-1 DM gengenpress tactic with a minor tweak or two. It'll be interesting to see if I can sustain it in the top flight...
  5. I'm experiencing this at the moment. Am trying to sign a player on a free having just secured promotion to the Premier League. His initial demands seem reasonable (£54k p/w, 3 years, signing on fee not bad) but in the interest of realism I ask to put in a 25% top division wage drop. This leads to his agent not only removing the clause I added but demanding £66k p.w along with a larger agent, signing, appearence, clean sheet and unused sub fee. I'd get asking for increases in some parts in order to make the relegation wage drop more bearable but to remove that and substantially increase his demands in every field? Huh?
  6. I'm enjoying 24 but I think my enjoyment is enhanced because I've taken to skipping a year, which means the enhancements and changes always feel much more notable. Saying that it is crazy to see how certain parts of the game just haven't improved at all in years. Backroom advice for instance is still almost universally rubbish. I'm managing Norwich and Adam Idah has 23 goals in 33 games, yet every couple of weeks I'm being recommended to take his playing down from Regular Starter to Squad Player. Why on earth would I do that?
  7. I'm managing Norwich City in the 'my world' set up where I started with a minus £20m transfer budget. I've sold a few players and it's now down to minus £8.7m. The offloaded players means I'm now running £150k p/w under my overall wage budget but the board will not discuss budget adjustment at all. It is leading to some slightly silly situations where I can sign a player on loan and pay him £30k p/w but I can't sign a free agent for £10k p/w because the agent and signing bonues come from the transfer budget. I thought bringing the wages down might allow me to reduce that budget defecit but apparently that isn't an option?
  8. I'd also add, scouting could use some work still. I'm managing with Norwich in the Championship and have a minus scouting budget. I've had my scouts recommend taking a look at Morgan Gibbs-White, Ben Johnson and Ryan Yates, all of whom are regular starters for Premier League teams with asking prices of £20m+.
  9. Finally had a chance to really play, first impressions... Love the match engine improvements. It is a huge step up from 22 which is the last game I played heavily. Little touches like discussing figures with agents before contract negotiations are nice. I've only had one squad rebellion so far and was able to placate them with relative ease. LOVE the 'myworld' setting. I support Norwich and we made some questionable moves over the summer so to be able to start as if they never happened is a nice touch, even if it means I'm in negative transfer budgets. I like the fact top teams are more willing to loan out young prospects without crazy fees or wage contributions, although it feels a bit easy that I got James McAtee with no contribution at all. I like the extra feedback on interested parties- it helps understand why clubs are or are not making bids. AI transfers feel a bit odd to me. I just saw Chelsea spend £27m on Gyorkes from Coventry. I'm not sure I can picture a club with their resources splashing that figure on a Championship striker. Gengenpress feels overpowered again. It is the style I like to play and I've won 4 from 4 with 13 goals scored despite my best striker being injured. Increasing bugbear is stadium graphics. Carrow Road is a simple enough stadium. Two end stands with two tiers, a small stand on one side and a bigger stand on the other, both single tier, 3 corner infills, all square. Seats 27,000. Instead it looks like a 50,000 seater behamoth.
  10. In the market for a new laptop, was wondering what the thoughts on this were? https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-5-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-512-gb-ssd-grey-10239504.html Good Ram and the Ryzen 7 is supposed to be good but can't see any mention of graphics?
  11. A question for those with 23- have the issues with B teams (players not realising they were in a b team and asking for contract statuses like Important Player when it came to negotiations, staff never wanting to renew contracts etc) been solved?
  12. I struggle to understand why comparing a real life list of the best players vs a game created list purporting to show the same thing isn't a good example? Surely this sort of list is exactly what the top 50 list in game is trying to recreate?
  13. I would agree if that was the kind of players dominating that list but it is full of players aged 35 plus. There are regens in my game who are 26/27 year olds- any comparable list right now but would be full of players in that age bracket. A quick scan of the current Guardian 100 best players shows 16 players aged 25 and under in the list (which 11 seasons into the game would by definition have to be newgens in FM). There is clearly something off with a list that is so heavily weighted towards older players.
  14. I don't think it is that as it isn't just down to international teams. The thing that really stands out to me in my game in 22 that highlights the problem is the list of top 50 players in the world. I'm about 11 seasons in now and the last list contained only 4 or 5 regens which is crazy considering the passage of time.
  15. He's said above he's a key player so I'm not sure where you've got not a full time starter in. Also Jordan Smith is a career backup so not a comparable player in the slightest? He's never been Forest's starter even at a lower level.
  16. Pope was in a team that had just been relegated and had a year left on his contract so not a great comparison.
  17. I think one of the reasons this forum can be a somewhat frustrating experience is there is a queue of people always ready to, bluntly, defend the indefensible. The OP has a legitimate gripe here on two fronts. 1- There is no way a young, first choice Premier League goalkeeper would be valued at less than £3m. 2- This artificially low value can't be ignored as his unhappiness is triggered by the team bidding what he sees as an acceptable amount based on the value the game has given him. While it is helpful to understand what goes into the values I can't see how anyone with a straight face can claim this situation is correct.
  18. One thing that bugs me about these promises though is that the player can unilaterally decide to roll it over. On 22 I currently have a player Valencia bid for in the summer window. I rejected and then promised I'd sell him if anyone bid £45m which he agreed to. The promise is set to run until the end of the January window. Nobody bids for the rest of the summer, nobody bids in January so the promise is done right? Nope the player decides he wants to wait more so it is now set to run until the end of the next summer window. By this point the player will have entered the final season of his contract and I can't offer him anything new as he's waiting on this promise to be kept.
  19. The idea that a tiny pixelated man throwing a punch is going to bump the games rating is...something.
  20. Yeah I actually agree- I've seen a few very odd looking mistakes that people have posted but the two video examples in that post like fine to me. In number one the player receiving the pass is caught on his heels and the opposition makes a well timed interception- happens all the time in football. Number two again the defender is on their heels waiting for the ball to come to him and the attacker takes advantage. Personally I'd be concerned if I saw number two happening constantly but as a one off I don't see an issue.
  21. That didn't happen in 22- I had a striker on loan who the parent club wanted to play as a target forward but I used him as pressing forward. He had 5 goals and 7 assists in 13 games but still got recalled. The extra kick in the pants was that they then didn't do anything with him- he played twice off the bench for them for the second half of the season. No logic to that.
  22. I'm not sure that is correct- a quick browse suggest the average age for retirement is 35 and very few players are playing at the top level regularly aged 37-40. Google suggests only 4 players in that age bracket have made an appearance in Premier League this season.
  23. Oh is this still a thing? Do they still ask for statuses like 'important player' too?
  24. I'm an Eagles fan and nobody was 'devastated' after the Super Bowl win, what on earth?
  25. Really can't believe this hasn't been fixed with a whole year of knowing it was an issue. Looking forward to another year of the top 50 players in the world list being 80% players in their 30's.
