This is a bit odd/wrong is it not? Report: SK Rapid qualify for UEL, but they lost to the team in 3rd, who is now only 2 points behind them into the final game of the season. So if SK Rapid lose (to me evidently) and LASK win, then LASK will finish 2nd and qualify for UEL.

Figured I would come back to this with how got on, have 3 games left of the season but have now won the league. Final tactic, there's a few PI's as well: Results following the loss in inital post: Some big gaps in the fixtures in December and January so did do some friendlies against small teams to keep fitness up for the restart. Champions League didn't go well drew 2, lost 4. One of the draws I was 3-0 up.. Tactic has had some tweaks along the way and the TF(A) does change, but is always an attack duty. Support duty means the AP gets too crowded out. On a few occasions the strikers weren't playing well at all and I ended up with a 4321 shape instead. Roko Simic was on 22 goals and 9 assists before a 6-9 month injury which was just before the 0-0 with LASK and it threw me off. After that though another striker (Konate) decided to finally turn up and score some goals. Scored some really nice goals, more in line with what I was expecting to begin with. During the big break I actually bothered with some real squad planning and training setups and let some players leave. Ultimately I think the Salzburg team isn't as strong as previous years (as seen IRL) and maybe I expected too much from them. But at the same time think the tactical tweaks did help.

Take it you meant PF(A) rather than AF based on the tactic? Does look interesting though! Any PI's on this?

Interestingly I hadn't seen anything about Diniz's football, just watched a YouTube video and now I am intrigued haha. I do think that with the ME changes this year being very focused on positional play, it may be difficult to reproduce. Would probably need to be lots of support duties (to get the fluid shape show up), lots of "roam from position" PI's and lots of player traits. Not sure how you would get a winger to move all the way to the other side of the pitch though

My guess is it's to do with the animations, but yeah definately comes across like that

Running into the issue of everyone wanting a new contract and upsetting everyone if don't give them one, and they all want "important player" status and then I say no, they exit talks.

I tried in previous games (when they first introduced gegenpress and since) but it did seem like shooting yourself in the foot at the time. Not sure if the current ME will make it any better, but would be interested to know.

They are blessed with some big men up top for sure. After playing so far Roko Simic defo going on my shortlist at other teams if you do give them ago, let us know how you’re getting on and your setup

Had this issue on previous games and was quite well documented on the forums. I will go back and check my stats in my Salzburg save and if looks/sounds similar I will add to the thread. I recall one game I only have 30% possession for about 35 mins, but end of game it evened out. That may well be same issue, something did seem off that game. I’ll check and add if so

@Rashidi I know you have had much success with a 4312 in the past, how would you approach this type of thing?

I would have thought it would be possible to turn off qualifying rounds on season 1, so no need to script anything. Maybe it's a niche request on my behalf, however I always thought we never got real life groups etc was down to licensing. I've just tested this to confirm, even when you pick a start date of "first champions league fixtures" you don't get the correct groups etc.

That's what I mean though, why is the first season not set as is in real life, including the qualifying games etc I know you start the game before the games would have happened in real life, but we also get transfers that happened after that start date (on normal mode).

What's the reason behind the first season Champions League/ Europa etc not having the real life draws now that they are fully licensed?

the principles are all there, made sense to me when I saw it (was also why I asked you in the first place haha)
