Laptop overheating since the latest update

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else had any issues with the laptop fan since the last update?

I was ticking over nicely, using 3D highlights etc but ever since the last patch my laptop seems warm and the fan is constantly running high when the game is running.  It might be coincidence but wanted to see if anyone else has had anything similar?

Also, any advice would on calming the fan down be most welcome.

On my lenovo I limited the processor to 99%, that works.

Speed on the game is still OK, and the fan isn't going nuts all the time.

You can go lower if you want, but it felt like the game was running slower than usual.

Hi

I am experiencing the same issue. Before the update, it was only on every now and then (the fan). Now its constantly on all the time.

How do you lower the processor?

That's something i have to try.

Thank You.

Does maybe the option in the preferences to limit your FPS to a certain set amount help to avoid overheating your Computer?

I myelf run the game on 30 FPS and it is cool a the northpole but i havent run it lately so i dont know if the update changed something in that regard...

It's in the power plan advanced settings.

Your absolutely right. I had to put everything on the lowest setting, and now the laptop is not going crazy. I did not have to do this before 23.2.2, so i don't know what went on in the update patch to cause the laptop to og crazy.

Folllow through the links to the version/platform etc.

Shame you cant go back to the patch before.

You might be able to - it's bit complex but might be doable
