On my 3rd laptop of the year so needed to start afresh which is gutting as I was loving my British Airways save! I picked Academica as they have the sign u23 players for first team and it fitted nicely with the title! The Rules Simple really I cannot sign anyone over the age of 18. To be clear they must be 18 when they sign so I cannot sign someone who was 18 when the deal was agreed but 19 when he actually joins the club! I can move clubs but the same rule will apply! deez0r Posted April 13, 2022 Author Share Posted April 13, 2022 End Of Season Results A fantastic season for us. It wasn't unexpected as we were 2nd favourites for the title. We tried to sell some of the olders players off so that we could bring through some younger prospects as due to the rules of the save this is what is vital to the next step up! League Table We win the League with Rio Ave falling apart in the last 3rd of the season after running us close. Portuguese Cup A great run here was ended by Benfica in the semi final! Was nice to see Rio Ave reach the semi final as well were they lost to Porto! Portuguese League Cup A tough draw in the group stage where we got Sporting. They comfortably beat us but we did get a win over VTSC! Player Review - Joao Mario One of our main men this season. Utilized mainly up front where he scored 23 goals and got 6 assists in 31 games! 2nd top goalscorer in the league as well! Player Of The Season - Jonathan Toro Our main man this season. Playing in the AMC role he got an amazing 20 goals and 24 assists in 38 games. One of the few who are capable of comfortably playing in the division above! Young Player Of The Season - Franculino Dju Spent 11k on him in the summer as a backup striker. deez0r Posted April 14, 2022 Author Share Posted April 14, 2022 Summer Transfers Out 5 players left on frees as they were no longer required and we wanted their wages of the books! 6 young players have went out on loan to gain valuable first team experience! The only big transfer out was that of Biai who was 3rd choice DM. We managed to get 70k for him! In We are almost 2m in debt but we did get a transfer budget of around 100k. I went about trying to identify those players on frees who could come in with potential down the line as well as doing some scouting in lower league Belgium and France! That proved right as we played fantastically well throughout whilst developing our younger players! League Table A 5th place position is a fantastic achievement for us! Nice to see Rio Ave finish just behind us as well as the other promoted team also gets European football! Portuguese Cup Not quite the run of last season as Benfica emphatically knock us out in the 5th round! Portuguese League Cup Similar to last year as out rotated team get us to the group stage before losing both games when there! Player Review - Miguel Ferrao (YP22A) I would be surprised if we don't start getting offers for him this summer. Developing really well and got 7 goals and 4 assists this season. Player Of The Season - Jonathan Toro We got offers of around 6m for Toro during this season but managed to keep the board from going above my head. 20 goals and 14 assists this season as he is still our main man. With our struggling financial situation if we get big offers for him I may be forced to sell! Young Player Of The Season - Franculino Dju Very surprised with him stepping him up so much and has become our 2nd striker this season with an impressive 17 goals and 14 assists! deez0r Posted April 21, 2022 Author Share Posted April 21, 2022 End Of Season Results When looking at the squads at the start of the season I was very much under the impression we were the "best of the rest". Our starting 11 is a very good team who can compete with anyone. We are however lacking in depth and despite having 5 or 6 really great prospects they just aren't at that level yet. We really pushed the whole way but it was 2 really poor defeats against Elche and Alaves that really stopped the title push. League Table We finish a very impressive 3rd place. All 3 of us had a chance of the title going into the last game but unfortunately we could only draw with Vigo whilst the others won comfortably. Real have Lewandowski who scored a ridiculous 55 league goals. Spanish Cup The less said about this the better. Our backup team failed miserably away at Murcia. Euro Conference League Well our season didnt end empty handed. We won the Euro Conference League. The younger players and backups played pretty much the whole way through. I did go for a stronger team in the final to get that elusive trophy! Player Review - Jair An area we do not have a lot of depth. Kounde and Carlos are the starters with Jair the backup. He is developing well and will get more game time next season to reach his potential. He played 18 (17) times this season scoring 3 goals and getting 2 assists. Player Of The Season - Marcos Acuna It really isnt often a left back wins my player of the season but Acuna has been outstanding. He got 2 goals and an amazing 24 assists! Young Player Of The Season - Youssoufa Moukoko Well he really settled well for us this season. Developing really well and more importantly scoring a lot of goals! deez0r Posted April 22, 2022 Author Share Posted April 22, 2022 Summer Transfers Out A lot of our young prospects are heading out on loan some at a pretty good level with Boulesteix going to Schalke and Kamperhaug off to Galatasaray. In terms of the sales most where only backup players for the first team apart from Gomez who was 36 and on a lot of money. With those leaving we really had to work on our squad depth! In Ali Mze Issa Youngster signed on a free and sent straight back out on loan. Decent potential but still somewhat quite far away from first team. Gonzalo Rossi Signed as our 3rd choice keeper. Again good potential but will only be used in an emergency. Another solid prospect however. Luis Gustavo Banham One of the youngsters who comes straight into our first team and more than likely replaces Gomez as our starting AMC. Fantastic Brazilian wonderkid signed for his release fee. Amine Masson Another who comes into the first team and will get quite a few games. A lot of big teams interested in him so I acted very early to get his signature before the transfer window opened. Exequiel Ferreira With Jordan now 31 we really didnt have any backup holding midfield players. Ferreira comes in to be that player but will get a lot of game time as we try to start phasing Jordan out of the starting 11. Warre Bonte One who could probably do with a season or 2 out on loan but we are quite short in the defensive areas so has stayed around to be our backup right back and 4th choice centre back. Ivan Agirre With Dmitrovic leaving we needed a backup to Bounou who himself is 33 years old. Within the next 2 seasons he should be our starting keeper! Pedro Rodrigues Our big prospect to help the lack of depth in defensive areas. He comes in as our 3rd choice centre back with the idea being he pushes 31 year old Diego Carlos out of the team in the coming couple of seasons! Carlos Cesar Again we had no real backup to Acuna at left back and whilst he is still very raw he will get game time this season to develop him. Stefano Stridi Another left back brought in for the future. Will play with the u19's currently in the hope he can become the backup to Cesar down the line. Milton We have a real lack of depth for our strikers outside of Moukoko and En-Nesyri. Some of our wingers can play up top but arent best suited for it so we brought a very raw Milton in the hope he can be an emergency backup striker! So when they came in with more money I accepted. Pinero was a January transfer who is sent out on loan for development.
