The teams are out. RBL lineup with an interest narrow diamond midfield while we make two changes from the FA Cup starters. Kristiansen is in at left back for injured Small and Porro is back into the first XI for ASM.

This could be a legendary season! The best in English history?

I don't know about that, Utd won the treble in 1999, but here's hoping we can pull off the same feat!

2023/24 Season Review

Overall we can be happy with the players we brought in. Ward-Prowse immediately became captain of the club and he was revelation, providing assists, goals, work rate, general quality and leadership. I think he was well worth shipping out for. Raphinha and Porro added real quality on either wing while Lacroix has been the missing piece to our backline; Holgate is a good backup but doesn't possess the quality needed really. Sesko had a good debut season as he was eased into the side, our other 'wonderkid' signing didn't really impress too much and doesn't look like he's got that much room for growth. We've still got a hole left by Digne and it may be one we look to fill with Kristiansen / Mitchell possibly sold.....Thierry Small is a long term option but probably not ready just yet. McCarthy was a depth option when we decided to loan out Joao Virginia to Palace, whereas Etienne Green has been brought in to seriously content with Pickford for the No.1 shirt. He's already played a fair few games between the sticks when Pickford was out injured (hence the necessity for a better second choice).

Tolisso and Bastoni weren't to standard and the likes of Dobbin, Gibson and Whitaker didn't look like they had the potential to break into the team so were sold with future clauses. The big sales were of course Moise Kean, of whom we've replaced nicely with Sesko at a cut of the price, and the left sided duo of Digne and Zinchenko. Arguably Digne hasn't really been replaced yet properly, whereas Zinchenko was sold due to Raphinha joining and a nicely developing Chico who unfortunately broke his leg at the wrong moment for his career.

Premier League

An excellent season and one that may be hard to follow up. We were unbeaten at home dropping points in just two games, Forest and Liverpool, the latter the only side we weren't able to beat. We can fully expect United and Liverpool to come back fighting next season after a poor showing this time round.

League Cup

7843244aaf60bff6e42aa0ec455ed0aa.png

An early exit at the hands of Liverpool, albeit after a good showing at Anfield and losing on penalties.

FA Cup

f253cebceca50825afa8fa0f8e5c6a6a.png

With the exception of the 3rd round tie we had a difficult route to the final, but we managed to beat both Manchester sides and beat an impotent Newcastle in the final to retain the trophy.

Champions League

848d951ef64b45abbe6ef6bd3ca76163.png

An impressive showing in the group stage showed that we were more than capable of upsetting the apple cart and we ended up doing just that. A 12-1 aggregate win over Porto and an extra time win over Merseyside rivals Liverpool the highlights of the campaign en route to beating RBL in the final.

Best XI

3c6773e78799cac4986dc219fecf6e59.png

The Best 11 picked picked 4 the season was as above, DCL, Mitchell and ASM being the obvious players to just miss out.

Player Stats

2f36984a22e1d89f8132cc007e6e38e6.png

New signing Lacroix holding the honour of having played the most minutes, he was followed by Pickford who missed 6 weeks out injured and JWP who made the same amount of appearances but was subbed off a lot more often. Onyeka started out of the side to Caqueret but ousted the Frenchman out leading him to throw his toys out the pram and a £30m transfer being arranged to Wolfsburg. There was plenty of rotation throughout the season, though bar the left back (Mitchell, Kristiansen or Small), right wing (Porro or ASM) and complete forward (DCL or Sesko) our preferred lineup was pretty clear. Youngster Peter Brennan got a fair bit of playing time and managed to contribute a Champions League hattrick too. The plaudits have to go to Adeyemi, who once again was in exceptional goalscoring form in both the PL and CL.

A nice profit this season, though we do have £30m net transfer debt to pay off.

Thanks very much :). Ancelotti doesn't have any plans of leaving Everton as it stands, though should a new opportunity arise it wouldn't be ruled out. Let's see if we can have another successful season in the new stadium first though!

2024 August Update

Transfers Out

9f9de7b133b25545caedaf91293cb3c8.png

Caqueret and Kristiansen sold on for a profit, Anthony Gordon not up to scratch. Of course the big transfer here is Adeyemi departing to PSG. We had no intention on selling him, but PSG swooped in for his release clause and Karim didn't want to sign a new contract to stay. Holgate was also refusing to sign a new contract and was into his final year so we cashed in on him.

Hernandez --- Alexandropoulos --- Gretarsson --- Roux --- Osimhen --- Roberts --- Papetti

Just two senior signings - the impressive Theo Hernandez helps sure up our left hand side while Osimhen is our replacement for Adeyemi. Alexandropoulos fill the gap left behind by Caqueret and Gbamin and at 22 could grow into a regular starter. With Holgate sold we needed depth at the back and we've brought in Roberts and Papetti for that, though we've definitely overspent on Roberts his PA isn't anywhere near what the scouts touted! Elsewhere we've brought in two 18-year olds both of whom look like they could turn into outstanding players. Gretarsson has gone out on loan while we wait for him to get a work permit (annoyingly he broke his foot too) while Roux is already in and around the first team.

September - October 2024 Update

We managed to remain unbeaten at home starting with a 0-0 vs Liverpool; a game where I'd have backed us to win if it wasn't for a silly Raphinha elbow reducing us to ten men early on. On our travels we haven't fared quite as well, tasting defeat for the first time this season against Championship Swansea to knock us out the league cup followed by a narrow loss at Old Trafford. Despite a fair amount of rotation we've dominated in the Champions League in a group without any minnows - Sevilla, Dortmund and Besiktas are no mugs. You'll notice that Osimhen hasn't scored for a while after a prolific start, unfortunately he's been injured and he's just finding his feet again. DCL has been the man banging in goals in his absense.

Premier League Table

It's early days but I think it could be shaping up for an exciting season. All of the big guns bar Chelsea have had a decent start. Arsenal even beat Leeds 10-0!

Best 50 players in the world, Haaland first, then Adeyemi 2nd ahead of Mbappe . He's a big loss to us, his replacement Osimhen sneaks into the top 50 list at number 47. Meanwhile new signing Theo Hernandez is ranked at number 7!

2024/25 Mid-Season Update

Results

bbc43f4d1dd20237fd8663486ac16dae.png

A really good couple of months where we picked up just one loss at the Etihad. We've been in sublime goalscoring form of late.

Premier League Table

cf0ea8f7036c48414dff4bd800bd5337.png

We're top but City, Spurs and Liverpool (if they win their game in hand) aren't far behind us while Utd, Arsenal and Leicester could mount a title challenge with a good run of form. We need to maintain our form to keep ahead of the chasing pack.

Champions League

ffaaa0ab1d1a427caf57d948d83d399d.png

A very comfortable group win dropping points only away at Besiktas with a second string side. We face Ajax in the first knockout stage.

Player Stats

d07be0c30162f65ade2143937a111930.png

A fair amount of rotation and a great spread of ratings across the board with many players around the 7.5 mark including Branthwaite, Godfrey, Raphinha, DCL and Osimhen.

- Darwin is perfectly translated in FM. A great physical player with a good personality and commitment to the team that makes up for his technical shortcomings;

- Every time I read 'DCL' I keep thinking who's this centre-back who scores so often :D

Darwin's not a player I'm familiar with in real life, but a player I really like the look of on FM. We came close to signing him before he went to Bayern first.

Haha, don't forget we've got ASM and JWP too! :brock:

So we finally lost at home, Bielsa's Spurs were the side to do it, while we also lost at Anfield and dropped points at the Etihad. We're into the 5th round of the FA Cup where we will face Liverpool at the Dock. We need a strong showing at home vs Ajax to put us through to the CL quarter finals.

Premier League Table

33c37132c82d8869c13a977b2aa7a39b.png

10 game left to play and we're top but there is a real chasing pack. Out of the rest of the top 8 we only face City and Arsenal in our remaining fixtures and both games are at home so hopefully we can keep picking up wins.

March 2025 Update

Ultimately it's been a disappointing month after being knocked out of the FA Cup, losing to a relegation threatened side and receiving a rubbish youth intake, but there were a couple of highlights including thrashing Liverpool and Ajax.

PL Table

e8294174eb6603eae0f062ea2eddf048.png

The slip up vs Southampton was capitalised on by City and Liverpool who are now 4 points ahead, although we have a game in hand vs Brentford.

Fixtures

April is an incredibly important month. First up we face City who we need to win against and then we have Real Madrid in the CL quarter final.

Realistically we need to win all our remaining games to stand a proper chance. Liverpool have a tough run in, however City only have one real slip up game vs Arsenal away.

April - May 2025 Update

Results

bf76bc1a423b820e600086fc9993a6be.png

We finished the season well with four straight PL wins but the damage at already been done. Self destruct mode was activated against Man City where a horror own goal and stupid red card followed by a loss at Brentford which scuppered our chances of winning the title. We also lost to Real Madrid over two legs in the CL QF. We really should have killed them off in the home leg, we even missed a penalty, but we just weren't at the races in the Bernebeu. On a real positive note Osimhen really found his scoring boots to round off the season.

Premier League Table

73d465a94714e7367de4e957357b4f9b.png

We finished just 4 points shy of the tally that won us the league by 10 points last season but it wasn't enough to retain it as Klopp's City and Guardiola's Liverpool (yes you read that right!) finished ahead of us.

Player Stats

e374c1997ed44dc91f71651bc7512650.png

A combination of rotation and injuries meant that very few players dominated the appearances this season. If we managed to keep Osimhen fit (and away from AFCON) we perhaps could have ended with more goals as he showed his potency. Here's hoping next season we can do so.

Our only hope of a trophy to finish off the season is in the Club World Cup!

We've splashed some cash to bring in yet another player from Milan, £65m forked out for Brahim Diaz who should link up well with Theo Hernandez on the left.

It ended up being a quiet window, just one first teamer in and a young player for the U23s, while Okoh and Small went out on loan for game time and Alexandropoulos was sold when a reasonable bid came in for him.

August - November 2025 Update

Bar the 0-0 away in Salzburg it's been a perfect start to the season. We've conceded just 4 goals in 17 games and we're finding the back of the net with aplomb.

Premier League Table

eb9a05a4858346577fc108947debe3b2.png

A 100% record but only second thanks to Arsenal being able to do the same and played one game more.

Player Stats

Lots of rotation and excellent ratings as expected with the results we've been achieving.

But what could be the reason for this update on the random date of 25th November? :brock:

A good start to life in Milan for Ancelotti junior, it could have been a perfect start if we had finished our chances against Napoli. A good period of games to assess the squad; we need more cutting edge up top, defensively we've been solid enough.

Serie A Table
