What is the stat "Points per Game?"

Just what the title says. There is a stat called "Points per Game" but I do now know what this is.

If a team has gained say 40 points in the league after playing 20 games, then the points per game is 40 divided by 20, so 2.0 points per game.

Number of points you have, divided by the number of games you've played. 

So if you won two games and drew two games (8 points), you would have 2 points per game.

Nope not in this situation, thats more of American term

Points per game for a player is the number of points gained by the team when the players was playing, divided by the number of appearances by that player
