PaulHartman71
End of Season Update Super League A decent start to the new year, with 2 wins and 3 draws and 1 loss from our first 6 games. Our form really dipped a bit towards the end of the season, but I did give more minutes to fringe players to keep them happy and not want to leave as where we weren't in contention for the title or relegation it basically doesn't matter where we finish. The difference in prize money between 3rd and 8th is literally only £1.5M ffs A break through season for Raphael Caglar who established himself as an integral part of the first team at CB at just 18 years old. PaulHartman71
Celtic continue their incredible roll, as they win back to back Champions Leagues, their 3rd in 5 years. This means of the last 10 finals they have been in 5 of them. A good showing from Rapid Vienna saw them finish as surprise Quarter Finalists. FC Koln beat Young Boys on penalties in the final, this is the 2nd time in 2 years that Young Boys have finished runners-up. A good showing from Croatian sides as Hajduk reach the Semi and HNK Gorica make the Quarter Final. Malmo of Sweden doing well to make the last 8 as well, with Kobenhavn doing well to make the last 16, albeit getting thrashed out by Koln upon doing so. PaulHartman71
Good times in Austria as they have 7 sides in Europe, with all of the Top 4 in the Champions League group stages. PaulHartman71
Top of the league Has no real impact and is massively swung by it just being based on us as the average, but still quite funny to see either way "Top 4" is now England, Germany, Austria and Portugal. Switzerland have dropped down a bit, with Croatia doing well at the minute.
PaulHartman71
The next round of international fixtures saw a friendly with Sierra Leone, before a trip to Wembley. No real injuries to the squad at this point. Although Sven Wechselberger the CB did get injured before we played a game, which meant a recall for Mario Frick - YP1
PaulHartman71
A strong side lines up to play Sierre Leone. A nice 2-0 victory, with goals from both strikers. The result was somewhat overshadowed by a serious injury to Martin Zurbuchen, which will put him out of pretty much every other international game this year. Andreas Elkuch- YP4 gets a recall due to this.
PaulHartman71
Lucas Brunhart wasn't actually fit to start at AMR, which meant Andreas Elkuch - YP4 went from playing with the U21s to starting at Wembley in the space of a week. Not bad going A 3-1 loss, with Sakir Hassler at least getting us a consolation goal.
PaulHartman71
Summer Window Out Servette came in with like a £7M bid for Richard Wallman, the young Swede who I've been using as a rotation CM/CAM option. I only paid £3.6M for him at the start of last season so I went back to them with a higher suggested offer to see if they'd go for it and they were well up for it, so I had to accept it as whilst he was a very good squad player, to make a £10M profit on a player who isn't even starting every week within 12 months is still too much for a club of our size to be turning down. Noel Longo, long time rotation CM, also left, with 1 year left on his contract and in his 30s it was a good time for us to both part ways. I managed to sell a few Liechtenstein lads for minimal fees, the important thing is that they have a club they're playing at a club and not unemployed and retiring. I don't care where they play or how much money I make on them really, as they cost more money being on the wage bill that it's sometimes even worth letting another side have them for free. In Boris at 30 is a little older than I like to sign players, but he's a really solid CB and at £4.3M I couldn't really turn down the change to sign him as we aren't blessed with huge amounts of quality at CB. I had to pay just under £8M for Astrit, but he's an exciting young right winger who could be a real player for us and will very much likely be worth the money. I managed to replace Noel Longo with this guy. The perfect transfer for us to make really, an aging guy on big wages for a young talented player with room to grow and small wages. He should be a decent squad player this season with room to grow into the first team if he keeps up his development. Finally with Wallman randomly off I had to get another CAM/CM in. Luckily Basel had this guy transfer listed and the Swiss international will be a fine addition to our squad for £7M.

PaulHartman71
Our squad for the October round of games at home to Holland and away to Denmark in the World Cup has been made. PaulHartman71
Christian Matt - YP1 and Peter Kaiser were both suspended, which meant starts for Noah Oehri - YP2 and Sandro Frick - YP2 at left and right back. Phillipp Weirather - YP1 and Lucas Brunhart - YP1 both struggling with fitness, which meant the teenagers Andreas Elkuch - YP4 and Joshua Beck - YP5 start on either wing. A very youth friendly side, although 34 year old Raul Badet doing well to keep our average age up. What a ****ing win that was!!!!!! We were actually the better side although I was happy with the point, but a last gasp strike from Sven-John Strickler was deflected in off his own player in Sakir Hassler to give us a quite remarkable victory and all 3 points against a stunned Dutch side.
PaulHartman71
Peter Kaiser and Christian Matt - YP1 were both back in, with Lucas Brunhart - YP1 and Phillipp Weirather - YP1 also back on either flank. Ralph Weirather was too tired to start another game, so Sven Buchel came in. In fairness all 4 of the younger lads at full back or on the wing were pretty gassed as well, so even if I'd wanted to give them another start on merit from the Dutch win it would've been difficult. A quite extraordinary performance in Demark sees us somehow sneak another win and 3 more points!!!!! Denmark who we beat 2-1 in the Euros qualifiers must absolutely hate us, as we prove it's not a fluke by getting a massive away win which is also a massive blow in Denmark's bid to make it out of the group. They were the better side but we were just much more clinical! We only have 1 more game and it's against England so we can't really qualify, but holy **** what a performance Imagine if we'd have beaten Montenegro home and away!! PaulHartman71
More or less full strength for the final group game at home to England. We took a real humbling, probably the first time we've truly been smashed like that in my time. It is what it is. We end up 4th below Denmark on goal difference, but a pretty brilliant group stage performance for the most part.
PaulHartman71
Liechtenstein 2101 Year in Review Player of the Year A fantastic performance from Sven-John who was our stand-out this year. Young Player of the Year (21 and under) A breakthrough year for Joshua Beck who only came through an Intake this year. 34 year old Raul Badet is now our most capped player. Captain Ralph Weirather will not break the record as he has retired from international football... Not ideal as we don't have crazy amounts of depth at CM, but he was 32 and this gives a chance for others now. Sakir Hassler at 27 is now 19 goals from equalling the record. it could happen I guess. PaulHartman71
Mid-Season Update Super League A reasonably solid start to the season, with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. We then got even better, with 5 wins, 1 draw and a loss from our next two months of action. Not the best form to end the year, mind. We have to be very happy with 3rd at this the halfway stage. Europa League A good 1-0 win to start the group in Iceland against FH. Aston Villa surprised as, with a late sucker punch giving them all 3 points against the run of play. A win over Osijek got us back on track after a red card for them helped us out considerably. With 10 men they were much better and the Croatian side actually beat us. We smashed FH 3-0 in the next game. A big win against Villa at Villa Park to ensure we went through. We got through, although it was a lot tighter than I expected. An exciting draw as we play Xamax from the Super League, but probably one of the hardest teams we could've faced really.
PaulHartman71
Some of you may remember the young striker Ralph Schadler who was playing reasonably regularly for Vaduz a few years back. He got 21 goals in 40 games in all competitions for us before moving to St. Gallen for £8.5M. I tried to get him to switch to the NT but he was still holding out for a Swiss NT call up. He didn't do great for St. Gallen, with 2 goals in 14 games in the season they went down. They sold him when they were relegated to Sion for £9.75M. At Sion he has done better, with 17 goals in 45 games in all competitions, including 16 in the Super League last season. Well here is where it gets quite good... I have repeatedly bugged him and Raphael Caglar almost on a monthly basis for the last 2 years and they've never been interested (Caglar still isn't and somehow still hasn't got a NT call up for Switzerland) but now he's only gone and decided to sign up for the cause! I'm not sure if maybe national reputations are dynamic and the boost in our ranking has meant our reputation went up enough that he'd go for it, but either way this is brilliant news as he is light and day above Sakir Hassler who is only playing in the 3rd tier of Swiss football. So to swap him for a guy who got 16 goals in the Super League last year is an absolutely massive upgrade. And he's only 22! That's at least 10 years of a proper good striker!

PaulHartman71
Youth Intake I messed this up a bit and didn't get screenshots of the intake proper, but: These two lads are the stand-out at CB. Berthold has already declared for Switzerland, but Ospelt has confirmed his allegiance to Liechtenstein which is good as I think he looks like he could be a decent player. Berthold does look better though so it would've been nice to get him as well.

PaulHartman71
Disappointing to go out at the first knockout round, but Xamax are the better side unfortunately and we did our best.

PaulHartman71
End of Season Update Super League Overall we did better than we have done in the last few years in the latter half of the season, but we still dropped off a fair bit. We wind up some way off Xamax and Young Boys, but we were only a few points away from Zurich and came quite close to getting 3rd. A good season for Raf Garaets in midfield, but the start performer was Raphael Caglar who established himself as a Swiss international ( ) and also as a player that's good enough for the Champions League, as a result as you can see he will be leaving at the end of the season. He insisted on a release clause of £30M for clubs in CL which I thought was reasonable and good money to get for him. Xamax were interested first, before Young Boys matched their bid, I obviously wanted him to go to Young Boys but he chose Xamax who to be fair did win the league this season. PaulHartman71
Celtic unable to make it 3 in a row, they were knocked out by eventual winners Atletico Madrid, who beat Man City in the final, who also lost in the final last year to Celtic. A good year for Sparta Prague who made the Last 16. Rapid Vienna win the Europa League about 10 years after the last time they managed it, which is a great result for both them and the Austrian coefficient. Southampton a surprise Semi Finalist, they were even in the Champions League group stage which is pretty mad. A few random names like Rosenborg and Partizan in the Last 16. PaulHartman71
Champions League Hall of Fame Atletico Madrid get 1 closer to their city rivals, with a gap of 2 now between them and 3rd place Man United. City if they had won the final would've gone level with their city rivals. Spain further opening up the gap between them and England.
PaulHartman71
A brilliant year for Rapid Vienna, who not just win the Europa League but the Austrian Premier League proper too. A big turn up for the books in Ukraine, as FC Lviv win their first ever Premier League title and Shakhtar slump to 4th. Osijek come very close in Croatia to toppling Zagreb, but just couldn't quite manage it in the end.

PaulHartman71
I usually try to keep our friendlies to teams in and around us in the world rankings, but Mali wanted us as a pre-World Cup game, so I thought it would be a good idea to accept and see how we do against much better opposition. They regularly qualify for the World Cup and have been runners-up of the last two African Cup of Nations.
PaulHartman71
A tough match against touch opposition, unfortunately they just had too much for us, but a good experience.
PaulHartman71
Ujpest of Hungary seemed quite a decent side for a 1st round qualifier, so we didn't have the 10-0s you sometimes see, but we still won comfortably. Opava of the Czech Republic next.
PaulHartman71
Opava gave us a bit of a scare in the first leg with a 0-0, but we smashed them 5-0 in the return leg. Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia await in the 3rd round, which seems quite good going for a Georgian side.
PaulHartman71
A return of the drubbings as we beat the Georgian side 10-0 on aggregate. We have Sassuolo in the Playoff, a tough test for a spot in the Group Stage.
PaulHartman71
# 4-0 on aggregate in the end to make the Group Stages. Our group consists of Juventus, Toulouse and Boluspor.
