There's no easy team in the CL, and I don't think we're going to even get close to picking up a point. What the CL has done for us, though is this:

1.5*! Still no option to upgrade youth recruitment yet, though.

Thats one hell of a terrifying group, at least from the looks of things. City should still be loaded with oil money & mercenaries, but have the other 2 done anything of note?

Yup :(

Valencia made the semis in 2111, 2106, 2101, 2093, 2085, 2078, 2075, 2055, 2046 and 2045. They lost in the final in 2038 and 2067, and won it in 2087, 2070 and 2044.

Shakhtar won it on penalties in 2063, and made it to the semis in 2065 and 2078. They also lost in the final in 2068 and 2069.

Man City are the current holders, which is great for us. They've won it 7 times in total.

Unless Luca Gatti & Buscarini decide to throw a cat amongst the pigeons, in which case it should be hilarious watching those teams struggle to contain San Giovanni:lol:

What a result. We were winning, but when Zavoli got himself sent off stupidly for a two footed lunge we were in trouble. We conceded once, but managed to repel them after that and we held on for a fantastic draw. We've just drawn with 10 men against a past winner.

I didn't show you our first game, but we lost 4-1 to Valencia (Gatti got our goal), and Man City beat Shakhtar 3-0. Could we come third in this group? No, but lets be optimistic anyway.

Next up - it's only the holders.

Woah, Tini is just brilliant. Also excited to see 1,5*, the great results are helping.

And how's Berardi doing? I believe he might surprise you, finishing was always a overrated stat IMO.

He hasn't grown much yet, but he hasn't played all that much. A problem is that he's injury prone - he's already been injured three times, so I really hope injuries aren't going to blight his career.

We were battered all game as expected, but only losing 2-0 is important. Shakhtar also lost 2-0, to Man City, so the table looks like this with one game left:

We have Shakhtar to play at home - if we draw or win, we'll come third and go through to the Europa Knockouts! I don't think we're going to do it - I think we'll lose 3 or 4-0 - but if we can...

Youth Intake Day!

He looks really good. I wish he was a bit taller, but I think he's going to develop into a starting CB for us.

We'll see how he develops. He looks like he could become pretty good. I really like this intake.

Not good to end the game against Shakhtar, but many defenders are coming to your team! Let's see who wins the Champions League and Europa League. How's Albania in their league and national team (ranking, best player and achievements)? And, also who is Shakthar's best player as well?

Unfortunately, we might soon be near the end of the road. His contract expires in two months, and he won't sign a new one because he wants to play at a higher level. I know he doesn't have long left, but he can still give us a couple of fantastic seasons, and I'll be devastated if we lose him.

Chelsea lost 3-1 to Schalke in the CL final, and Fenerbache beat Galatasaray 3-1 in the Europa final.

Albania are ranked 74th in the world. Here's their best player: Kristian Thaqi.

They rarely make the Euros (they've done it seven times in total), and have never made the WC.

Here's Shakhtar's best player: Andrey Karpov

Goodnight, sweet prince.

The best player we've ever had is leaving on a free, looking for a bigger club at the age of 32. He probably only had one or two years left in him but that's irrelevant - he was unbelievably good for us for over a decade, and I doubt we'll ever have a striker as capable of mixing it up with the European big boys as him. He leaves having played 306 games, scoring 302 times, getting 74 assists, 53 MOTMs, and a 7.90 average rating. He was absolutely magical in Europe, and it's down to him that we've made so much progress in the last few years.

I started Federico Berardi (YP135), but he got injured after about 10 minutes. His injury problems are really concerning. Boero came off the bench, and got his second hatrick in two games. He's winning himself a starting spot, at least while Buscarini is hurt.

Time to go to Hungary.

Drawing away at the top seed is a great way to start off the group. We probably created the better of the chances but in truth it was a pretty poor game, with neither side ever really looking like scoring. Tini will be a big loss for the next game, though.

AIK beat SK Rapid Wien 4-2 in the other game.

That AIK draw might have been a lot more important than I thought...

After the AIK game, we were sat on 2 points, with AIK and Zorya on 8, and I was sure we were out. Now, though...

79c1f31fca53614805d80135ff5018b9.png

We're 3 points behind, but it's a lot better than it looks. Because we've just beaten Zorya, if we both finish on 8, we go through because of our Head to Head Record. Zorya play AIK - we need AIK to win, which I'm hopeful will happen. If AIK win, all we need to do to progress is to beat the already eliminated Rapid Wien. Simple, right?

AIK drew with Zorya last time out and Rapid Wien beat us 2-0 when we were at home, so no. But we'll give it a shot anyway.

Your players seem to have an unhealthy obsession with getting sent off in European matches, typically crucial ones too. Hope they keep their heads in check for the Wien game.

I think they reckon that if they get sent off near the end it'll give us more time to try and score
