QWERTYOP
I have one (he takes my penalties) but it seems (unless somebody can show me where) that a goalkeepers goals are not recorded anywhere on their personal stats? I know it's relatively rare, and there needs to be a space for clean sheets, but surely it's possible to incorporate that somewhere too? Anybody else have one BTW? Jimbokav1971
There are seasonal stats where goals are shown for GK's, but there are not career stats that are visible. You need to track them season by season as shown in the following thread. http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/392303-My-Big-Fat-GK-can-score-more-than-your-Big-Fat-GK-(Blast-from-the-past-challenge). QWERTYOP
Team stats. That's not too bad, I guess. It'll do. Cheers! For anyone wondering, it's Sabastian Saja (Racing Club in Argentina). I believe he's taken a fair few penalties IRL too. Absolute legend! --EDIT-- BTW, I've just found that you CAN track their all time record. There's an "all time" drop down menu from the "stats" option. Including the pen he just scored for me, this dude's got 16 career goals! Rather play this dude than Heskey!

QWERTYOP
Not enough free kick specialist keepers generated any more Man, i'm not sure i'd be brave enough to have my GK taking free-kicks! Even if he was on 20! With pens, most of the time you'll have no problem because pens are usually scored, but having a GK taking free-kicks surely opens you up to conceding more often than not? Anyone doing that is braver than me anyway! I had to think hard about making my keeper my penalty taker!
Ackter
I always set my keepers to take free kicks if they have 15+ I just haven't had a 15+ since FM11

Ackter
Not as often as you'd fear, and not as often as my FM11 keeper scored.

It makes for exciting games though. My GK only has a free kick attribute of 9, but he still takes them.

It was a pretty awful season If anyone is looking for a goalscoring GK I'd also recommend Independiente's Diego Rodriguez, he hit two at the weekend vs. Quilmes and I've had him in game, very decent stopper with a beastly penalty. chinch
I've got a newgen keeper who is my second choice free kick taker. his freekick's were 12 as an 18 year old...but I...almost certainly stupidly...gave him the specific focus of freekicks for about 5 years. He's 33 now and his freekicks are on 16 and he has about a dozen goals for me...and never caused one from it going wrong- the system does track them it is just not viewable on their default stats history- I always just read the biography as it is one of the first things it says. I've often wondered- because you do get the odd newgen keeper who is great at freekicks (rightly rarely but it happens) But you point blank never get a newgen keeper that has good penalty stats, I've seen more keepers on penalties than freekicks if anything- the risk is much lower as the conversion rate is much higher. Racing fan? Very early days, but I think i'm really going to enjoy this save! I won my opening league game (against Colon) 6-1. I'm not sure if I understand how the Argentinian league works, but I'm sure I'll work it out as I go along! Your forward line is awesome!

It makes for exciting games though. My GK only has a free kick attribute of 9, but he still takes them. That's the same case irl. It's very rare to see a team punishes the other team GK for going up in a 90' corner(it happened this week actually, but in general 95% of the times it ends without a counter goal). Jimbokav1971
That's the same case irl. It's very rare to see a team punishes the other team GK for going up in a 90' corner(it happened this week actually, but in general 95% of the times it ends without a counter goal). That's not the same as in real life at all. I play approximately 60 games per season. My GK took 3 shots in our last game. I have been tracking his goals for over 5 seasons now so that's approximately 3 shots x 60 games x 5 seasons = 900(approx) shots. In that time we have conceded just once which = 0.0011% In real life it is just common for teams in losing positions to send their GK up to salvage a point, but as the defending team are usually in a winning position, there is little reason to attack. The game is won after all and it's usually just a case of clearing the ball. In this case I am doing this at all stages during the match irrespective of the score. Your 95% stat, (which is completely plucked out of thin air), is still nowhere near the 99.989% that I seeing.
