ManUTactician247
Think that Marks will make a backroom addition for your team or just let him go? I'm not sure, his speciality is a scout but the board is unwilling to let me spend more than £70 on scouts and physios so it is unlikely.

ManUTactician247
January 2012 Review Ballymoney Utd 2-1 Brantwood (NI2D) For us: Rooney (48) For them: Kelly (16), McLaughlin (88) Sport & Leisure 2-2 Brantwood (NI2D) For us: Sweeney (6), Rooney (42) For them: Rugg (22), Murray (34) Brantwood 0-1 Coleraine (NIC 4th Round) For them: Adams (45+1), Adams (63) Brantwood 3-1 Queen's University (NI2D) For us: McMullan (10), Fitzpatrick (16), Sweeney (65) For them: Paget (64) Brantwood 0-0 Lurgan Celtic (NI2D) Summary: I was quite pleased with what we did in January, we gave league leaders Ballymoney Utd a good game and were unlucky to lose a late goal at the end. We then faced the team that beat us 6-1 on the opening day, Sport & Leisure and put in a quality performance picking up a point and unlucky not to get 3. Getting knocked out of a cup is always disappointing but we did well against Coleraine despite losing to the Premier League side. We then picked up a vital home win against Queen's University to take us a couple of places above the relegation zones. I was hoping to string together 2 wins in a row for the first time this season but Lurgan Celtic held us to a frustrating 0-0 draw. We're 12th out of 16th in the league but it's incredibly tight down there. Anyone in the bottom half is considered in trouble. A possible take-over is happening at the club but it's not close as yet. Brantwood lead, McCaffrey's corner is headed in at the near post by Fitzpatrick. 11 - Friel is on to replace Greenaway. 13 - Kearney's cross is headed straight at the keeper by McCaffrey, he was unmarked! 32 - Dunlop's long distance shot is deflected behind for a corner. 32 - And from the resulting corner by McCaffrey, Fitzpatrick heads over. 45+1 - Half time 1-0 up at half time but we really should be ahead by more than one goal, pleased with the performance anyway and hopefully we can hold on for a good win here. 45 - Malone is on for Teggart at half-time. 48 - Banbridge think they've levelled it when Davenport plays in Craig who places it into the corner but it's chalked off for offside, it looked like an easy decision for the officials. Banbridge disagree and make their feelings known... 52 - Rooney finds Blevins who hits one but it's wide. 59 - King trips McCaffrey, getting a yellow. 64 - Quigley is booked for bringing down Craig. 69 - McCaffrey's cross is headed over the bar by Kearney. 75 - Carlisle is on for McConnell. 86 - Banbridge are going crazy here as the offside flag denies them another goal! Davenport plays in Grant who finishes well but the flag is up, the goal is chalked off. It looked like a difficult but correct decision. 89 - Sweeney replaces Blevins. 90+1 - McCaffrey is allowed to cut inside and shoot but his shot resembles Emile Heskey's shot against United on Saturday. 90+2 - Off the line!!! Well actually, it was Brantwood looking for a second, a great lob by Sweeney is cleared off the line by Anderson. 90+3 - Full time A deserved victory for us, with a bit of help from the referee but we deserved to win and that 3 points takes us up to 13th. Preview: A very important match (as you'll see after you read the match) but also because we are level on points with Wakehurst and a win here would give us a healthy advantage over them. Let us see... 2 - Rooney pulls it back to McCaffrey whose shot is tipped away fantastically by the keeper. 6 - Cheevers trips Rooney and becomes the first to receive a yellow. 9 - A yellow for McMullan for tripping Warren. 10 - Blevins gives it to Rooney but his first-time effort is fisted away by Brennan, he could have come forward a bit there. 19 - An incredible double save by Saunders keeps Brantwood at bay! Fitzpatrick's long ball finds Blevins but Saunders gets a hand to it, Rooney gets a head onto the rebound but the keeper blocks that too! 29 - Blevins shoots but it's just wide. 35 - Dunlop's shot from distance has Saunders beaten but it whistles past the post. 41 - Cheevers sends Jaimes McKee through on goal but he blasts it over. 45 - Blevins picks up a loose ball from a tight angle and hits it but it's over the bar. 45+1 - Half time I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering how it's 0-0 at half-time, we've put in a quality performance but lack the cutting edge in front of goal. 46 - Kidd holds back Watson, getting a yellow card. 48 - A handball by Joe McKee sees him enter the referee's book. 48 - HOW is it 0-0! Brennan's long ball from a free-kick is brought down by Blevins who rounds the keeper but somehow puts it wide, a sitter. 52 - McIlroy picks out Kidd but Brennan gets down low to make his first save of the match. 54 - Rooney holds onto Jaimes McKee's shirt, getting himself a yellow card. 55 - Blevins turns in the box but hits it well wide. 61 - Jaimes McKee gets the better of Fitzpatrick but his shot is saved well by Brennan. 62 - Gregg comes on for Ebron. 67 - McIlroy is injured, forcing Edmunds on. 72 - Kidd does well to pick out Jaimes McKee but Brennan is on hand to stop the shot again. Then Cook picks it up on the left and crosses it but Gregg's header is straight at the keeper. 74 - Moore replaces Warren. 74 - Rooney plays in Blevins who has a simple chance but he wallops it over the bar! He can't seem to score today! 80 - McCaffrey is into the book after a trip on Cheevers. 83 - Blevins finds McCaffrey whose shot just misses the top corner. 86 - PENALTY! Brantwood may well win it after all, McCaffrey's corner sees substitute Moore bring down McMullan and this could be the break the visitors needed. Wakehurst are furious but the yellow card comes out for Moore anyway. 87 - SAVED! It's a poor penalty by Rooney which is straight at the keeper who punches it clear. Frustration for Brantwood. 88 - Cheevers finds Jaimes McKee but he volleys it wide. 90+1 - RED CARD! It may be too little too late to impact on this match but Cheevers gets his 2nd yellow for a foul on McCaffrey. 90+3 - Full time We really need to ask ourselves, how did we not win this match? We had a penalty and millions of chances but we just couldn't score, credit must go to Brennan who made a fair few saves to stop us from losing, but a three points we could have gotten there. Not only did we remain unbeaten but we didn't even concede a goal! The defence has really improved a lot from the start of the season. We kicked off with an important win against Banbridge, but then drew winnable games against Wakehurst and Annagh Utd with Rooney missing a penalty in the former match. He recovered against Moyola Park where our finishing was at its best, scoring and setting up a goal. We ended the month with an impressive victory away from home against promotion contenders P.S.N.I. If Brantwood avoid defeat, they'll have been unbeaten for 7 matches, the most they have done this season. Preview: We face 2nd placed Oxford Utd Stars at just the right time, on a good run of form so we can definitely pull off an upset. A suspension to Brown means he can't play but Murray returns from his long-term injury, he was expected to miss the rest of the season but returns on the bench. 4 - Beck hits it from distance but it's harmlessly wide. 5 - Gall is booked for tripping Watson. 13 - Rooney receives a yellow for shoving Smith. 20 - Williamson's cross is headed by Blevins but it hits the bar. 23 - Dunlop hits the ball wide from a long way out. 29 - Blevins is furious as he thinks Smith fouled him in the box but nothing is given. Both sides join in after the ball goes off, controversy here. Blevins gets a yellow for what he said. 31 - RED CARD! Blevins is shown his 2nd yellow card for his protests just seconds after his first and Brantwood are down to ten! 31 - Irwin shoots from the edge of the box but it's a great stop by Brennan. 33 - Hamilton is booked for pushing Rooney. 40 - Fitzpatrick upends McAlynn and is punished with a yellow. 45+4 - Half time The red card has certainly shaken us, it's always disappointing to see a player go for that, we're still level though and with the odds against us, I'll take a draw. 45 - Dunlop received an injury at the end of the first half, Murray will play in the 2nd. 52 - McMurray is injured, on comes Devins. 55 - McCaffrey's corner is headed wide by McMullan. 58 - Feeney replaces McAlynn. 64 - Feeney hits it well wide when he was through on goal, a poor effort. 71 - Beck's free-kick is headed well wide from point blank range by Smith, how did he manage that! 72 - McCaffrey trips Feeney, getting a yellow. 73 - Williamson is also in the book for tripping Irwin. 80 - Clark comes on for Gall. 80 - Daly sees yellow for upending Irwin. 90 - Daly hits one from the edge of the box and it flies just over the goal, would have been a dramatic winner. 90+1 - GOAL! Oxford take the lead, a good ball finds super sub Clark who scores despite a good touch to the ball by Brennan. 90+3 - Full time Our unbeaten run ends, the red card ruined the chance we had of getting a surprise result. A good effort anyway though. That gets us down to 11th. However, a terrible injury to Dunlop, a torn calf muscle means he'll miss the rest of this season and the start of next season. Me "It's a horrible blow, Dunlop has been great in the middle of the park and this injury is certainly bad news."
