Davey Boy Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I recently had to re-install my windows xp and when i went to install Football Manager '09 and Steam everything went fine but now Football Manager '09 won't launch. So i tried to un-install Steam and start again but i get this message: Error 1306. Another application has exclusive access to the file 'C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\platform.gcf'. Please shut down all other applications, than click Retry. what's wrong? can anyone help? it's hell not being able to play Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

BTW: you can only delete FM from within steam and then try to download it again. No need to remove steam first. and yes steam is a pain in the ass but its still better than uniloc. Both are far worse than what we had in the good old days. Hopefully SI has learned that it doesnt help them prevent piracy in any way and since its a seasonal game they dont really benefit much from preventing the second hand market which is the main goal of DRM.
