Players DO NOT develop technically!! Huge game breaking bug here. I attach some screenshots of the development of Endrick, one of the biggest wonderkids in the game, from 2022 to 2032 to prove my point.

Look at his stats. Technicals increased by max 1-2 points while mentals such as Composure, Decisions, Off the ball and Vision went trough the roof. Also the increase in physical is too big with respect to his technical attributes.

Please SI fix this!! It is completely unrealistic to have a database full of techically horrendous players.

For now I only have screenshot, will post a savegame as soon as I can

he has 2 adequate stats meanwhile the other columns are stacked, if that doesn't illustrate the problem then idk what does.

Saying "newgens look fine" is not the same as actually statistically going through the data as OP of this thread did.
And, as other users above pointed out, the newgens don't actually look fine. Their technical stats look absolutely terrible.

Here, an actual statistical analysis on 50k+ players (only using the ones with 130+PA) in 2022 vs 2050 and comparing it between FM22 and FM23

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1muGtM_UJyCLV4T5__J3k5MweudFRDms8jKuP137SoPE/edit?usp=sharing

It's very broken, compared to FM22 most things got significantly worse

I can link the actual FM22 spreadsheet if you want it as well

Wow, huge cred for the great work :thup:

Great analysis, hope SI will have a serious look at this.

So many glaring issues with player development that you point out here - honestly makes me wonder whether the task to fix this before release will be too much for SI.

And I just can't comprehend the fact that they bragged in the blog post about having worked on improving the long term game world balance...

Going to be very interesting to see the results when they patch this though.

Many of these issues were there already in FM22 (and years before). I actually consider FM22 after the fix for the age attribute degradation to be kinda reasonable as far as player generation goes. Unless you wanted a SK(A)... or an attacking WB/CWB... or a BBM... or a TM.

It's just that whatever changed now made these issues so much worse

At the same time, now that they are forced to focus on these issues, maybe they will be able to make this the most balanced FM edition ever. Highly doubt it tho...

Ohh dear this has ruined my save. Definitely game breaking if not fixed.

Few years ago I bought a Google stadia set up to play the game. Think it was about £100 plus £40 for FM. Turned out after a few seasons games couldn't be saved as the file was too large and it was NEVER fixed. £100 wasted. Got a refund on the game though.

Let's hope they try harder to fix this. I'm sure they will as if affects everyone not just a small % of users.

I mean, its for all Players bad when their youth players dont develop like they should develop. So i think they will do there best to solve that problem.

This is a game breaking bug.

Very very disappointing. I wonder how they could miss this before beta release.

Or demonstrates a surprising level of unprofessionalism.

Gladi haven't purchased the game. Playing now would be a waste of time and incredibly frustrating.

Very disappointed. Been playing FM for forever and I can't think of a worse bug on beta release in their history.

Its a shame number is going down

You need to chill, they dont have to do an open beta so be happy about it, when the bugs still there by release you can still hate.

Any news about this topic by the SI Team? I guess a lot of people is waiting for this to be solved to start or continue a new save.

In FM 2022 for me there was a big problem with the quality of the wonderkids generated, but at least they progressed.

Hope this year we don't find that in a 12 years game the national squad are almost full of real players with 34 years, as it was in FM22

Hello everybody. We've just released a minor update for the Football Manager 2023 Early Access Beta, which directly addresses the player's attribute development progression issue.

This update is save game compatible, meaning you don't need to start a new save game for the fix to take effect.

The update should download and install automatically. If it does not, we recommend restarting Steam or the Epic launcher.

Hi Zachary, should we consider the issue to be completely fixed then?

I'll run some tests to check

Did you guys actually TEST your update? Newgens are developing even worse on average than before the patch. As shown by the analysis done by noobcake.

If some guy on reddit can do this test in a day, would it not be fair to expect SI to perform similar tests before deploying the patch?
