kontermann
My first save in India. I don´t know what awaits me and whats gonna happen there. I am hoping to build a strong team that can compete/dominate in India while getting big in Asia as well. Another future aim is to become India manager one time in the future and build a stronger Indian national team that can compete and qualify for the world cup. So this is it. The world famous I-League... The club logo doesnt look too attractive I have to admit (I´d say my 5-year old nephew could´ve drawn that) but then again I was employed here as a manager, not an art critic I guess. And who am I to moan about my clubs´ logo in the first place??
kontermann
That´s fair I´d say. We even got a rather nice transfer budget! Let´s just hope we can attract some good players. I guess they couldve named the club "Singh FC" if they´d been in a good mood And these are not even all "Singhs" pictured because the screen goes further down! Anyway, most of them have to go anyway because the club just has far too many players! And most of them are just not good enough! Oh really? You´re one of those I mentioned above, my friend... Don´t mess with Kontermann This is how the squad looks now, after got rid of the dead wood and bad bad players (some of which are being sold, some of which are rotting in the reserves). Its mostly our 3 Nigerian foreigners who up the quality of the team though Jagpreet (Singh) & Jaswinder (Singh) look pretty decent for a domestic player. There´s also Balwant (Singh) but I´m looking to play a 4-5-1 and he is still young. Wonder if loaning out players works as well as in the UK here... It´s MY tactics Though I don´t like playing 16 year olds in the first team. Gotta find an AMR stand-in for Manna.

kontermann
You only Singh when you're winning Can you qualify for the ACL in India? It looks like until 2011 they were playing in the ACL. Since then they havent entered says Wikipedia. But as I am playing FM 2011 and I´m starting in the year 2010, Im pretty sure they WILL play the ACL in this save
kontermann
THE FIRST SIGNINGS A much needed defensive midfielder, Wadoo brings pure qualitiy to the squad. Also capped for India already. Abhranches, the new AMR for Manna. Gobrin, another AMR, backup for Abhranches. In comes Hussain, a backup DMC. We also arranged a tour of Pakistan from end of July 27th - August 6th, playing against 4 smaller Pakistani clubs. 2 losses, 1 draw and only 1 win... we definately need to train harder. The India national team in the meantime isnt doing that well. (They finished behind BHUTAN! I mean, COME ON!!) ...At least they didnt lose a game And thats what happened next

deltablue
A friend of mine once called the Swedish league the 'Anderson' championship. Hope you don't get confused with selection and subs
kontermann
@B.W.G.: Thanks a lot mate! Try giving my best @deltablue: There are far more guys called "Singh" in the whole league! I in fact made use of the "nickname" option now
kontermann
MORE SIGNINGS We needed more quality and experience in goal. Mukherjee has 9 caps to his credit and looking like he´s capable. I can´t believe my luck! Current India international Bhutia was without contract and we were able to snap him up!! He is a veteran national player with 79 caps and will lead our attack in the coming season
chickenbroncitis
Hope it goes well for you here. India is always a league I mean to try but never have yet. I will one day try the four I's save. India, Israel, Ireland and Indonesia.
kontermann
@chickenbroncitis: Thanks a lot Same here, I always played with the thought of taking up a job in India one day and finally yesterday it got me so I had to start
kontermann
Now thats better! Bhutia immediately proved what an important player he can be for us, scoring 2 goals in his first 2 matches. We win our own tournament. Nevertheless good for morale A few days before the tournament we beat amateur side New Delhi Heroes. Jagpreet, our DMC, made his first apppearance for India on the international stage in a 2-3 loss against Thailand. 22 years of age, his future is looking bright. kontermann
NEXT UP: FEDERATION CUP With hot favorites and current I-League champions Dempo in the group and only the top spot to qualify for the next round this is going to be very very hard... Itching to start. All I want is a good performance by the lads.
kontermann
Presently this is the most important club tournament after the I-League, to which it has become a de facto League Cup. The winning club of the Federation Cup gets a chance to compete in the continental level in AFC Cup. History shows that JCT have won this cup 2 times in their history, in 1995 and 1996. East Bengal are the current holders and Mohun Bagan are the record winners with a record of 13 wins in 18 final appearances.
kontermann
GROUP MATCHES The victory against Arrows didnt come too unexpected, 2 goals by DC Milton Jose and another by Nigerian striker Ibrahim secured a 3-1 win. The ONGC match was a much harder game. Uttam (Singh) and Jaswinder (Singh) came to the rescue. The bomb exploded when we smashed favorites Dempo 4-0 - I decided to finally play a rested Bhutia and he prompty scored twice, as did DC Kareem Group winners! Poor Dempo didnt even make the second spot SEMI FINALS Now Mohun Bagan await us. They also had 3 wins to top their group. Short story: A goal by Jagpreet (Singh) was enough to get us into the final THE FEDERATION CUP FINAL We have done it! Pure class. He made the difference again. What a nice unexpected addition to that victory!
kontermann
NEXT: This cup is rather some kind of show event. No qualification can be achieved by winning it. But its the history that makes it - this cup has been played out since 1888 Starting October 29th 2010. One month time to recover and gel some more as a team. And: Dempo again!! kontermann
TRANSFERS 2010/2011 We needed to bolster the central defence and thats why I brought in this monster of a header namely... ... Maria!? Left defender Manju brings more quality to our squad. First teamer, definately! TRANSFER OVERVIEW: As the domestic transfer market is now closed (and I´m not planning to buy more foreigners because there are only 3 allowed in India), lets take a look at what happened so far:

kontermann
We made the semi finals, Churchill Bros proved too strong for us there. I don´t mind not winning this cup, victory here was never on the cards. Abhranches scored the winner in the Super Cup against our old friends Dempo. More importantly, the I-League kicked off with a win against Mohun Bagan, with a hattrick from (yes, you guessed it right) Baichung Bhutia! Somehow I´m pretty sure Dempo hate us by now

kontermann
UPDATE APRIL 2011 I really didnt see THAT coming to be honest! Our defense is just INSANE! We conceded only 5 goals in 18 matches. Our 2 CBs Milton Jose (who turned 17 last month) and the 24 year old Nigerian Kareem are rock solid. Add new defender signings Manju and Maria and you got a real nice defense there. Bhutia only played 5 matches in the league, because of quite a few injuries, but managed to score 5 goals in them. We are yet to lose a match too. Still the championship is far from decided. Pune FC are hot on our heels and we have to keep concentrating. 6 matches are still to be played and we need to rally our troops. AFC CUP The first 3 AFC Cup games have been played and its looking good for us. We got to 2 home games from the 3 remaining. 2nd place. Hopefully we can hold on to it to qualify for the next round. kontermann
JCT FC YOUTH TEAM Our youth team finished 6th in the U18 league. They went out in the U18 cup in the 2nd round. There are quite a few raw gems in that team. Both strikers Mascarenhas and Ali have shown their quality this U18 season and will get their chance to prove them next season in the first team. Philip Singh will definately be promoted to the seniors next term as he already has the quality to compete there. Milan Salim is only 16 and though highly talented, will remain in the youth team for at least one more season. We are yet to see what the youth intake will bring this season. kontermann
I-LEAGUE UPDATE 2011 We are the champions, my friend. Dempo finally got their revenge on their nemesis when they ruined our season by becoming the only team to to defeat us....... No, of course it wasn´t ruined, but it was something that kind of annoys me. Nevertheless we had a fantastic season as no one fancied us before. Maybe exactly this was the chance for us and we gladly grabbed it. Okolie of Churchill Bros took the top scorer award with 28 goals. Strangely there were no players from our team in the top 3 of the goals, assists and AVR stats. Bhutia in the end scored 10 league goals. AVR-wise Kareem was our best player, coming 8th in the table, with Manju in close pursuit in position 10 and Nigerian Nurudeen Olawale in 17th. Finally, Champions League* flavor comes to Punjab! (*the Asian version )
kontermann
I-LEAGUE SEASON AWARDS 2011 Our goalie. Great showings this season. The best. Not a big surprise. Our stone solid defence. This was something that took my by surprise a bit, but of course he deserved it This guy scored 28 goals in just 16 Games! No surprise he wins this award. Also no surprise that he was promptly bought by uzbek club Paxtakor for 500K after this season Yay A good start to my career.
kontermann
AFC CUP Didnt expect us even to qualify for the next round. Lots of draws, qualification as 2nd in the group and then Al-Nejmeh of Lebanon proved too hard for us. And thats the AFC Cup for us this season.
kontermann
END OF SEASON Bhutia of course was our best player this season. Sadly he couldnt play as much as I liked him to because he is so injury-prone and the age doesnt make it better for him. Enough has been said about our defense so I won´t bother you with that again. Jagpreet went on to become a national player for India, Wadoo played his heart out in 41 (the most of all besides our goalie) games this year. But he alone can´t run the midfield of course and so we decided to bring in 2 new players in midfield. For the attack we need to look to the future and as mentioned before Mascarenhas will get his chance as we let Ibrahim and Salwant go after their contracts ran out. THE NEW SIGNINGS: He will go straight into the first team. Planned as a backup on the wings. A winger who also has the ability to score goals. Experienced RB, as that was the weakest link in our defence.

kontermann
INDIA NATIONAL TEAM UPDATE No goal scored in the Asian Cup group stage. At least they were able to beat Tadjikistan... kontermann
PRE-SEASON 2011/2012 UPDATE YOUTH INTAKE: One very good player, the other ones fill the squad. I´m excited. He got 4 stars potential. The last season was quite sad in terms of finance. We will do A LOT of friendlies in pre-season to keep out of the red. We are the favorites. And we want the title again. TRANSFERS: As mentioned above, we signed mostly midfielders and wingers. Out goes the deadwood and we loan prospect Ali to get him some playing time. We toured the world quite a lot, all for the sake of money We won the Federation Cup again! This time we are victorious in the Durand Cup as well. We also win the Super Cup again. Thats it for the Pre-Season 2011. The new I-League season draws near and with it our first participation in the Asian Champions League!

CRM2009
Good luck in India Kontermann! You're surely off to a fine start. I find India a great place to play as the seasons go relatively fast and there is lots of room for improvement. Apart from the big three Calcutta teams though, I've always struggled to keep the bank balance out of the red. In this regard, the Durand Cup is interesting: I get €40k for winning it in FM10... Also in my current save with Mohammedan SC, I can't seem to make it into the ACL Group stages, which only leaves the Conf. Cup. This one however gets quite easy after 3-4 seasons and pays off about €200k in addition to the >100000 crowds I get for home games. JCT also has amazing (relative) regens on my saves and I usually raid them for 2-3 players / season, so you should be fine there . If you're looking for foreigners: Try North Korea and Central Asia! Did you get the logos from Sortitoutsi? Think they'll work for FM10 as well?
kontermann
Hi CRM2009! Maybe they changed to regulations in FM11, I can´t really say for sure because I only played FM11 in India... Pretty hard to stay out of the red I have to say, thats why i am doing so many friendlies, you get about 10K average per away game. I am trying to have a team consisting only of domestic players, thats my aim for the future, but of course I keep looking around (thanks for the N.Korea/Central Asia advice!) I think those are the standard "metallic logos" which you should find on sortitoutsi and they will work for FM10

kontermann
AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2011 UPDATE We defeated Bani Yas from the UAE with Bhutia (who else?) scoring the winning goal and Kuwait SC with 2 goals from new signing Steven Dias. I´m really really proud of the lads Al-Arabi from Qatar, Iranian top club Hamedan and Al-Hilal from Saudi-Arabia. I don´t think we stand much chance in this group. kontermann
AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2011 UPDATE Especially the home win against Al-Arabi was a match to remember. D`Cunha, Sahni and talent Mascarenhas scored. Looking better than expected. We want to continue to impress but I know that this is more a wish than reality, especially regarding we only got one home game in the 3 remaining group matches... Wadoo, our workhorse in the defensive midfield, was voted third. And you know what? Gawli will be a JCT player from next June
