At an age of 18 in his debut season 2011, he was nominated as newcomer of the year being the youngest of the nominated. He also won the prestigious Månadens Tipselitspelare prize with the jury's citation: "Oscar Hiljemark has been endowed with a massive winning attitude that he has used to the competitive environment for the optimum development. He is a talented player who works hard and takes a mature responsibility from his midfield position." Players who also won the price are Fredrik Ljungberg, Johan Elmander, Olof Mellberg and Kim Källström. After the 2011 season, Hiljemark was being scouted and chased by Genoa and Club Brugge, but Elfsborg ignored the bids, as they want him for a few more seasons before he leaves. Elfsborg ignored a bid of 200 000£ from Club Brugge and Genoa who both chased Oscar after success in his debut season. AFC Ajax and Feyenoord follow Oscar and plan to set a bid in the next transfer window. In Game In FM 13, Hiljemark is considered a tireless midfielder, and it's not hard to see why boasting world class stamina and determination. He also has a solid base of attributes across the board, of particular note are his positioning, passing, creativity, work rate and teamwork. My scout at Arsenal rates him highly, and considers him to have the potential to become a good premiership player. And as you can see from the above image, he's available for under £1million, which for me, makes him almost essential for top championship sides and above. Two years after signing with Elfsborg, at an age of 18 he earned a place in the A-team after playing in the U21 team and the Swedish national youth teams. Oskar has eyes in the back of his head, spotting a pass is no problem, but this kid can even control the tempo of a high profile game. For just £1.3 million you get a player with the potential to gain some ofthe best mental attributes available not to mention his fantastic passing and first touch.
