No idea. But, I tend to look at a range of stores anyway and just recommend what is best value that I see and it kinda goes in waves. When I started doing recommendations a few years ago, PC Specialist often came up cheaper than pre-builds, and for quite a while until recently pre-builds were coming in a lot cheaper. Currently it's fairly comparable, so in those cases a custom build is going to win because you won't get the manufacturer bloatware included. I also used to like using box.co.uk for latops because their search function was far better than all the other stores, but then they became uncompetitive before going into administration! They are back again, but I'm a little bit wary about them given their recent struggles.

Nope, no sponsored links here! I'd feel bad resorting to that, it'd be like I was doing it for the wrong reasons lol. The exception to that is my affiliate link I have for when the game itself comes out, which last year the SI forum mods allowed me to post, But nothing like that when it comes to this thread, as it'd feel kinda underhanded. A few people have offered to Paypal stuff to me as well, but I've always refused and asked them to donate to charity instead.

That's about the right sort of price for an i7/4070 combo. And I'd not agree with you being too old to stream or do Youtube seeing as you're younger than me, and I do both (albeit the Youtube isn't gaming stuff) https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/intel-home-office-pc-V/47!neyTN4T/ You could save a little bit by swapping out the CPU to the 12th gen i7, which would still offer excellent performance.

We can't fairly comment on FM25 as there's no indication on system specs as yet (I have asked on multiple occasions and haven't had any response). It has been said that FM25 will feature a 2D mode though, which I'd assume won't require the full system specs in terms of graphics. It's certainly going to be ok for FM24, although I do suspect not at max graphics settings.

My turn to be brutally honest, as you put it. You're adding nothing of value to the thread. Please stop. Some people just want a laptop, and for those who do we help them find the best options for their money. And for those who want a desktop, we help them too. Just far more people seek a laptop for FM than a desktop it seems. And that's fine, it's all personal preference.

$600 isn't much for a laptop at any given time. It's unlikely to have included a dedicated graphics card at that price. Just because you had a bad experience with one laptop doesn't mean that's going to universally be true for every laptop out there. Some people don't have space for a desktop PC, or some just want the portability factor.

Just managed in this absolute spectacle of a match..... thankfully managing Blackburn! Shows that even if you go into half-time 5-0 up you can never assume the game is safe. When they pulled it back to 5-4, I was having visions of losing the match. 2 games of the season left, and just about hanging on to second place!
