ridley99
Just curios as to how we all use our subs, do you make your subs at a certain time? do you make all your subs at once? do you wait for a player to get to a certain condition before replacing him? what do you do if you keeper has been injured/sent off and you havent got a sub? questions like that! i normally wait until 60 mins then make all 3 at once to try and influence the game but if a player drops below 80% i take them off. as for the keeper i normally put the LB in goal
Jarrow Roofing
I'm lazy and only sub injuries and to fix a red card lol
ComeontheArsenal
Yep i'm the same mate I wait until a player's 70 something condition and then sub, usually.
xenardo
Hmm, depending on the situation of the game mate. If we're sitting in a comfortable lead say, of 2-0 or 3-0 around 60 minutes then I'll bring on a defensive midfielder to make my midfield more defensive and frustrate opponents. Tends to work and get a clean sheet for my team pretty often If I'm losing or whatsoever and my strikers seem to be having a bad rating, no doubt I'll take the under-performing strikers off and bring on my super-sub. (GYAN!)
Feddemaster
Depends on the game, like xenardo mentions. If I have a good lead i'll sub in some youngsters i want to get match experience. For the rest is mostly make one sub at 45 mins. This is always someone with the lowest rating. The remaining two are picked on either performance or condition. If my keeper gets sent out i most of the time do nothing. Only if i have a slender lead.
St.Dazzle
I only make tactical substitutions at half time when the players condition is below 80%.
fernando torres lfc
if im winning 2 or 3 nil then youngsters come in but if im losing then i replace 2 people in the 60-70 mins time and youngsters get 10 mins at every match
mbchuz
I'm a bit lazy with subs to be honest... Also in my current game with Barrow we're a bit light on because I've gone for quality over quantity and the wage cap disagrees :s So I only usually make subs when I have to, and even then I sometimes don't have any on the bench
PJ Bluenose 4 Ever
I always sub my players at half-time if they are below about 84 %
bbuullddoogg
It's very rare for me not to use all 3 subs because I'm always trying to get players as many games as possible. If I'm struggling in the game I'll make a change or two at half time if I have players playing badly. If I get 2 or 3 ahead I will usually make 2-3 subs between 45-60, depending on the quality of opposition. About the only time I won't make mass changes is when I'm up by a goal but my players are playing well and have good condition.
ridley99
if im easily winning i always bring on players that i know wont play much or youngsters
LSD
I normally wait 'til there at about 70% and sub three off (if I haven't used any subs) and anyone else who drops below that... Sod 'em, I'll stick 'em in fitness training for a week!
Bergkamp.10.
i always make one at around the 65-70 mark. also, if the players rating is below the average of that match, off he goes
ridley99
whats the lowest rating youll let anybody have? mine is 6, anything below that and they are off!
Paul_Dixon
I normally sub, once players condition falls below 80, unless in the last 10 mins, or if player is sent off, then I sub a winger and leave my team short on one of the wings. I don't worry about ratings too much, because a Player can have a 5 rating at half time and recover to score 3 goals an 8 rating and be MoM,
Lukaboi
Always bring on all 3 subs at Half-Time.
O\'Hara_fan
Depends on game, situation. In a league match, I play my best team. If we go a few goals up, I put a few players onto the tired ones. If we are down, I go all hell for a goal. In a cup, usually leave my better players out, unless its against top op. If things get problematic, then I put on the 'stars'
agovind
I almost exclusively use subs when player condition is falling towards the end of a game, especially if there is another game in the next few days or the result of the match is not in any doubt. Also use subs if one of my midfielders / attackers is playing badly [has a rating of 5 or below].
MJGB
Unless i get an injury or player sent off, i follow this rule. Half Time : First substitute 60 Mins : Second Substitute 70 Mins : Third Subsitute (If drawing / losing)
ridley99
so who do people put in goal if their GK has been sent off and have no more subs or a sub GK on the bench? Mines normally the LB

nerner
I never use subs, except for injuries, or red cards, but if the keeper is off, i put a striker in goal, as i am lazy. There has been many a time when Rooney or Eduardo has saved a pen for me.
ridley99
why dont you use subs?
nerner
I just don't really see the point. Unless there is an injury or a red card. Otherwise it is just tinkering.
ridley99
but it can inspire your squad the amount of time ive had a player come of the bench and change the game around is unreal
LSD
I just had this: 2-0 HT 2-2 90th minute... What do I do? Roncatto comes on in a last ditch desperate attempt to snatch a victory 2-3 FT Roncatto scored as soon as he came on! :D:D
ridley99
just proves my point, ive had a player come on in 60th minute and score
nerner
I think it is also because i like to do stuff for the match, come back, press continue, keep on doing stuff, so subs take up too much time.
Declan Barry
I Often make changes at 60 mins.
O\'Hara_fan
I've also had, however, that when I don't bother to make changes, you can throw away seemingly winning posistions, ie winning 2-0 against Anderlecht with 20 minutes to go, drew 2-2. I think we were once winning 3-0 half time, lost 4-3. didn't make a change in either.
nerner
I have also had it the other way though, where you make changes, and throw away a 4 goal lead.
LSD
I made all three subs after 20 minutes after my defence imploded and let in 4... We won 6-4 in the end
