TJJESSE
if you are good at programing and software engineering is their anyway you could alter the code to add stuff to the game? Sorry if this is illegal.
GesterX
That type of action is illegal. If you're good at programming and software engineering then you should persue more useful endeavours such as building a nice portfolio of projects so you can get employed

athos
I think this game is way too complex to actually add anything by yourself without bugging the game; hell, even SI can't do it. It's not like Civilization where you can make mods.
MelbVictory
Is it illegal if you do it for your own pleaseure? Like, I buy a book, and think I would like a different cover and modify it and leave it on the shelf. Its my product, I purchased it, I'm not re-selling it. I want FM to have a new module for stadium viewing and editing. i tell nobody and distribute it nobody. Is that really illegal? We do modify much of the database already. Look what the Polish FM community did with the close-up 3D thing? Just asking btw.
phnompenhandy
There's a whole Editors' forum and Graphics forum for folks legally altering the game.
Azuru
It's not illegal to alter memory
milnerpoint
im sure if this was on your own copy and not for distribution then there is little they can do to stop you, the polish thing BTW was something already built into the game, they didnt add it, its just a setting SI do not let us use at the moment. bigdanio
No, not illegal at all. You would not end being charged (in the UK) for buying a game and playing around with the code. Put it online or share your creation and that infringes copyright.

Hopefully this doesn't digress from the theme of this thread, but I'm really interested to know what the Polish FM community did with the 3d thing. I searched through the forums but didn't find anything. If you could point me in the right direction, it'd be great. Thanks.
