Cannot run game: Failed to set up graphics system

When i try to load the fm11 demo i get this message Cannot run game: Failed to set up graphics system

i was wondering if anyone had got the same message and somehow found a fix for it

I could also run fm10 on 2d so i thought fm11 demo would of been fine

i have the same problem.

Chaps, are your machines above the minimum spec?

If so - try the below;

- Update Graphics Card drivers.

- Update Java.

- Update DirectX.

See where that gets you.

If you're below minimum spec I'm not sure what to suggest.

Hi matt my computer

Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80GHz

INTEL extreme graphics 3d

Memory: 1.25gb ram

this run fm10 fine playing 2d and everyhting is updated

My Specifications are:

INTEL CORE 2DUO CPU T66000 2.20GHZ

Standard VGA Graphics Adapater with an ATI ATOMBIOS chip type.

Memory:4092MB

I've tried all of the above and like David I ran FM10 fine in 2D.

Same here. Played FM10 just fine, even if, I remember, the same error appeared with FM10, but it worked out well, just updating graphics card/DirectX SDK. Already done that with the FM11 Demo, and still the same error.

Smae problem here. Given that my on board graphics are below the min spec is it still worth sending in a dxdiag to you Neil?

same problem too. i have tried everything, graphics cards, directx. i can play fm2010 without problems.

I wondering could this be because its the Strawberry demo with all the Graphics and am i likely to get the same problem if i download the vanilla demo tonight

Same problem. Tried downloading the file mentioned in the FAQ at the top of the page. No luck.

FM10 worked. The demo this year does not. Hopefully this thread gets updated.

I've had to resort to going round to the parents house and liberating the old laptop so i can play... :/

Bah, tried everything, still the same, gave up.

Wait until the full game is released, with some luck I would be able to play (as I played all the previous in 2D).

Guys i got the fm11 vanilla demo working thanks to Stant

Google and Download swiftshader

Extract the file to your desktop then open the folder "SwiftShader 2.01" then Copy or paste files

d3d8.dll, d3d9.dll and SwiftShader.ini to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011 Demo for xp
