What determines the compensation that a team gives for the signature of a player before the end of his contract?

Isn't it his release clause or is a release clause for something else?

My question is such because i thought the the less the time remaining in a contract, the less the compensation should be. but it doesn't seem to be the case recently

I think in real life a court decides it but I don't know how FM does it, its probably down to PA or something.

In real life it would be a tribunal that decides on the player's worth combined with his prosects etc. I suspect FM takes similar factors in to consideration such as his worth, how many years he has on his contract and his ability.

So some equation hidden in the code. I'm sure it's done as close to real life as possible.

Could be continuing on a month-to-month basis. Try signing him

In soviet russia players arn't covered by the bosman ruling.....this is also the case in a few other countrys

i could have signed him in the last 6 months but i wanted to avoid the 6M compensation which raised to 7M for some reason...

he became free agent and i can sign him but he asks for 120k per week!!!!! What to do?
