  1. I had a similar story with a 35 year old Nico Kranjcar coming on in a Champions League final and scoring the winning penalty in the shoot out. His contract expired at the end of the season and he decided to retire.
  2. We should have the option to wish a player a happy birthday when it is his birthday. Doing so could increase his morale but not doing so could reduce his morale and make him unsettled at the club.
  3. I've finished my first season in the Premier League. I would have been happy just to avoid relegation, but we had a great season and finished 9th. We also won the League Cup! Our home form was excellent, we had one of the best home records in the league and had wins against Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and southampton. Unfortunately our away form was poor and we only managed 4 away wins. Ashley Harris was the stand out performer, with 17 goals. Wallace and Rwakarambwe also played well. I think next season will be a challenge as I will need to add to the squad for our Europa League campaign and hopefully avoid second season syndrome. In other news we will be playing at the Madjeski stadium for next season as the board is expanding Fratton Park. I'm not really sure how I feel about this, as I'm happy about the expansion but not about Pompey playing away all season, but at least it's not St. Mary's.
  4. On FM08 beating Man Utd 6-5 after being 3-0 down after 10 minutes! Or FM11 being 2-0 down against Man Utd in the FA Cup final with 10 minutes left and bringing on Artem Milevskyi who scores in the 85th, 90+3rd and 90+5th minutes to win it for me!
  5. I have Harris playing as a poacher in a narrow 4-2-3-1. I think having three creative midfielders behind him has helped a lot
  6. I thought my first season in the Championship would be difficult and that I would do well to get a mid table finish. In reality we ran away with the league title! We were top for almost the whole season and went 22 games unbeaten at one stage! I didn't make too many signings, the only main changes to the starting line-up were two attacking midfielders; Steven Berghuis and Andrea Russotto, who were excellent providing goals and assists. Wallace, Butler and Rwakarambwe are all performing consistently well. But my star player by far was Ashley Harris, he's a goal machine! If he can keep op this kind of scoring rate in the Premier League he could end up becoming our record scorer!
  7. Does anyone know what "Other" actually represents in finances? I've just won League One and I've received £4.7 million in Other income but I can't think of what it could be.
  8. I've finished season 3 and spending an extra season in League One has helped me in some ways as I've been able to give more football to younger players. I've managed to fine tune my tactics and get players that fit their roles perfectly. We were the strongest team in the league and won the league easily. I'm hoping that with a couple of additions we will be a force in the Championship next season. Ashley Harris was excellent again, scoring 24 league goals including 4 in the 5-1 win at Preston that secured promotion. Other top performers were Wallace, Osman and Routis. Webster, Harris, Wallace, Butler and Rwakarambwe are still developing well. I would recommend giving Rwakarambwe a few games as he does become a good player. He has excellent physical attributes and he is already a "leading Championship" player at 19. Also my goalkeeper Siegrist is "good Premier League" level! I'm amazed that no clubs have tried to buy him.
  9. I have Wallace training as a box to box midfielder, at the moment on my save he is a good Championship player with potential to be a good Premier League player.
  10. I was just looking at the finances and we've been given £8 million for TV revenue at the end of the season. Does anyone else have this? Maybe it accounts for parachute payments or something.
  11. Unfortunately we missed out on the play-offs on goal difference after we were held to a draw on the last day of the season We were on course to finish third but an own goal from Webster with ten minutes to go left us in 7th. At least our youngsters are doing well, Ashley Harris was top scorer with 26 and Jed Wallace was the star player with a 7.27 rating and 28 assists.
  12. We've slipped up a bit in January, going 5 games without a win and sinking out of the play-off places. But then 4 wins out of the next 5 including vital away wins against our 2 of our play-off rivals have taken us back up to 6th.
  13. I've been looking for a new formation to try and I remember seeing Liverpool use a 5-1-3-1 a few years ago and it worked well for them. I was thinking it could be like a narrow 4-2-3-1 but with an extra centre back instead of a midfielder, which would allow the full backs to go forward more. Has anyone tried this formation yet?
  14. I'm halfway through the season and I'm 5th but it's very close with only 3 points separating the top 6. Despite using the same tactics as last season we seem to be playing the opposite; we're great at scoring goals but we also concede too many. We had one crazy game where we lost 6-5 at Shrewsbury! Jed Wallace has been amazing so far, he has 20 assists already and a 7.7 average rating! I'm surprised no other clubs are interested yet. Also Harris is the league's top scorer with 19 so far. He even scored one direct from a corner!
