trueblue
It is supposed to have the exact same system requirements as last years game ( of which i had NO major issues ) but this version seems to be a lot slower in a few areas. Firstly when i initially load up the game the screen that appears with the "loading msg" in various languages seems to last forever. The 3d match engine seems to be good one game and slow and jittery on another,,,, my 3d system rating in preferences is 5 star. I dont understand how if it where a system issue with my laptop why some games would be smooth and others not,, wouldnt it be one or the other ??? Also when the match intially loads the sound of the crowd and game starts before it goes to the match view,, i scored a goal in an old firm game against celtic in 45 sec, ,and never got to see it,, when screen opened match view players where already celebrating ,, had to make do with the replay The other one i have noticed a lot is when saving a game manually it seems to last a fortnight to finish I am running about 2 gig ram on vista,, but like said had no probs with 09,, i am also on patch 10.1,, just wondered if anyone else has noticed anything similar and if it is common then perhaps better off waiting for a new patch before going out and buying new RAM or graffix card:confused:
Maidel
Yes other people have noticed similar - most of them had had out of date graphics card drivers. for me, the processing time (Appart from the inital game load time) is lightning fast - the game goes between days so fast I dont have time to change the TV channel! Whats your full system specs? GPU, RAM and graphics?
Sir_Liam
FM2010 is much quicker than 09 for me, aside from the 3d engine which is stuttery with the high graphics setting. It's fine on the medium setting though.

Nonlondoner
Just had a 1Gb memory card installed, doubling my memory and the game files now. No more sticking in the 3D match screens. Twenty quid well spent I think.

Maidel
Well you only have 1gb of ram and your graphics card is the bare minimum required. Your graphics card drivers are over a year old. Try turning off the sound, see if that helps - but basically, you hit the mimum requirements, and thats why you are struggling - turn the crowd off, the stadium off and the sky off. EDIT - the stars thingi is bugged to hell - I only get 2 stars, yet I run a 512mb graphic card with 4gig of ram and a dual core 2.4ghz processor. dave byrd
It's really not slower. I have both installed. FM10 is much quicker.
Maidel
Thanks for your response.I've jus updated my graphics cards drivers, but still experience the same problem!! Can You give me anymore advise??? My new dxdiag is: Yea - did you try turning the crowds, stadium, sky and sounds off in the preferances screen? Thats probably your best bet (then if it works, turn them back on one by one until you find where the problem was.)
postal postie
I don't think it's slow for me but it is unreaponsive. Buttons take a second or so to do anything and sometimes I have to click them twice. Specifically when going to the 2nd half of a game or finishing the match

FM 4 Life
Yea - did you try turning the crowds, stadium, sky and sounds off in the preferances screen?Thats probably your best bet (then if it works, turn them back on one by one until you find where the problem was.) Thanks mate I played around with the sound, crowds etc as you suggested and it seemed to make a difference. Then I went to my graphics card control panel and adjusted the image setting to balance it between quality & performance, reduced the graphical detail in preferences to low and it seems to work ok... so, sofa so good. TIP For anyone else who tries this: when changing your preferences in the game, make the changes before you load the game...seems to work better that way THANKS Maidel
