Barnzy
Think 500 million is an exaggeration, although your prob right in suggesting 30 million isnt enough at the moment

Bongo-Bongo
The £30m they had for FM08 will be what it is believed was left over from what they had already spent. So it probably wasn't an unfair value. And where on earth did you get that they have £500m to spend? One of the tabloids? With Abramovich wanting to make Chelsea self sufficient, he aint likely to give them anywhere near that much. TheYorkshireKing
Lots of the big clubs (ManU, Real, Chelski, Barca, Milan, Inter) have silly money (£30m - 100m +)to spend on players, you just have to ask the board for extra cash! Then you have the next tier, (Liverpool, Villa, Spurs, Newcastle,Man City, Juve, Roma, Seville etc) who have some billionaire owners, and can go out and buy 1 or 2 top class player, but the boards are a little tighter with money. Tip for Liverpool managers - sell Gerrard - He's never the influence on the game like he should be Then you have Arsenal (Cash rich and have the tradition) but who in keeping spirit with true Wenger tradition - you should try find some world beaters who only cost £
fatboyjohnmulhern
why have they never made gerrard as good as he should be, i think the creators think he is overrated or something.......last time gerrard was fairly rated was 2004 game
IbrahimAliMaher
They didn't really spend that much last year did they, it was mostly frees, Ben Haim, Sidwell, Pizarro. The only players they really spent any money on were Malouda and Anelka, and they were under £30m.

Gerrard has defo been turned into a 7.5/10 player in about 3 or 4 positions on FM, when in reality he is a driving force in Att/Midfield and should be dominating games from this position for club & country behind a front two. He isn't a playmaker in the sense of he must/needs to have the ball all the time - but a player who sets the mood and tempo with driving runs, shots at goal and the ability to grab the game by the balls. Fergie would love him to be sat in the midfield and be the future Robson, Keane, Scholes replacement - Enough said! As for Chelsea, With Kaka, Messi et al being touted as wanted by the russian, and Didier "I'm theDogsbollocks" and Anelka, Makelele, Lampard, Malouda(What a waste of money) all leaving they better have a very healthy budget this upcoming season. backpackant
Not for a new manager. In fact, didn't Abramovich restrict the Special One's spending after such an extravagant season? Peter Kenyon has long said Chelsea need to break even at some point, so £30m might not be unrealistic. Abramovich won't want to prop up the club with his own cash for too much longer, no matter how much he's rolling in it. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_3588022,00.html

If they have already spent that much i'd say that 30 Mil is not that bad a budget. However looking at all the new players Man City have bought i can't understand how they have so much wonga to spend.
